We love this new (to us) location! Spacious, hip vibe and great outside patio. I thought the food was delicious. We've been frequenting another location for several years and I always get the Charro tacos. I thought they tasted much better at this location. Great flavor and sauce on the beans. Lots of windows at this location which is great, but we were there later in the afternoon when the sun was low and it was super sunny inside. I had to wear my sunglasses for awhile. read more

Cons: Food was very pricey (understandable, most places are these days), very bland (meat was dry and hardly seasoned, if at all, gelatinous beans tasted smokey and sweet, and we threw the rice away it was so bad), salsa was like sweet green chile/tomato water. The pork is excellent in tacos and the enormous tostadas (like a Flying Saucer) -- and I mean the pork really is exceptional -- my favorite taco is still the shrimp with pineapple salsa which is both sweet AND spicy. The green corn tamales are so good and sweet, especially when done enchilada style, an option I never choose with burritos, but always love with their green corn tamales. Not impressed at all. I came in here to pick up an online order for DoorDash and even followed their vague signage for "online orders". Then I was flat out ignored despite making eye contact with multiple employees multiple times. Once they finally had the order ready (I didn't know it was still being prepared because nobody said anything to me), it was brought over to me and they didn't even verify the name on the order. Why even offer delivery if you're just going to ignore the delivery drivers and then not bother checking the name once you decide to acknowledge their existence? Saw this place on Yelp and I decided to give it a go! When I waked in it was nice to see that the restaurant was very clean and well put together. The menu behind the register was easy to see and read as well. The employees were all super nice and friendly, which is a rarity anymore, and made it my experience even better. I ordered the chili rellano burrito and I will say that I enjoyed in tremendously! I also ordered the Low Card Fajitas (Chicken) and those were very good too. Looks way better than it tasted tbh. Had the tacos: steak, salmon, shrimp, chicken, and beef. Rice and beans and side of Guac. Granted, I know things don't taste as good when you take out instead of eating in person but there was just a lack of flavor for everything. I like the salmon taco and the refried beans. I wish I took at picture before I chowed down but I was v hungry. It did look delicious!! Isabelle over the phone was the sweetest though. Very helpful and personable. I was thrilled to know there was a Boca close to me! A big group of friends gathered there yesterday to celebrate a birthday. It was MISERABLY hot! We asked the employees if the A/C was out and they said "no it's always this hot," as they were dripping sweat! I felt so badly for them. Our group of friends was so hot, the meal wasn't even enjoyable. We ate as fast as we could and then escaped to the nearby Starbucks for a cold drink and to sit and cool off. I ordered the beef tacos and the beef was terrible. It was rubbery and gross. They've definitely cut corners in the quality of beef they use. I hate to leave such a bad review but I have to be honest, this was a major let down. read more

Haven't been here for a number of months. In the past the flavor was just "ok", but I gave it another try this week for lunch. What a difference!!! I kept it simple; cheese enchilada, with beans and rice, and I also ordered the churros. The enchilada sauce had great flavor, the beans were Smokey (in a good way), and like other reviews the rice has something orange mixed in, but still good. lol. Man oh man. I was super excited to try this place out as it is near our home and a great new place to meet friends for dinner. First off -- the staff was very friendly. The inside is very small and there are absolutely no Covid protocols being followed and I want to mention that for there are still people that would like to and need to know this information. The tables are on top of each other and you are essentially wiggling your way through to your table. The food ... the food is not good. I had the shrimp tacos. The shrimp had no seasoning, no flavor. The salsa that is on there was dull, no flavor. Everything was extremely bland. The tortillas, oh my gosh the tortillas. It's as if they put them in the microwave for 2 seconds. They were corn tortillas, they were cold and falling apart, which means no they did not warm them up long enough. The refried beans ... Lord help me .... The refried beans had absolutely zero taste. Not even the cheese that they topped it with. So I went onto our neighborhood Facebook page as we have a page for Food Lovers and we share restaurant recommendations and such and mentioned that I wasn't a fan and that was the general consensus from like 80 percent of the neighbors that responded about this place as well. They do not like the food. The $5 margaritas are what saves this place. I will not be back and don't recommend it to others to try. Save yourself some money and go elsewhere. I loved the salmon taco! The refried beans were so good too. Staff was friendly and I was able to bring my 11 week old puppy to sit with us on the patio. We went to this restaurant at the Greenfield location a couple years ago, and the food was good, but nothing to write home about. Yesterday, we stopped in for lunch since the location is right next to us. We all ordered a Watermelon Margarita--and wow. It was so good and refreshing! The drink alone made us want to come back again (and we are--next week!). We shared an order of the Boca Trio, which is chips, salsa, queso, and guacamole. The chips were so fresh tasting--as well as the salsa. Luckily the salsa was out in the dining room so we could fill up as many times as we needed--and we needed! Both salsas were so fresh tasting. I'm more of a green salsa girl, but even the red salsa was amazing! The guacamole was fresh tasting and the queso was delicious--my only complaint is I could've had way more queso, it was that good! I ordered the low carb fajitas with shredded beef and it was so tasty! It came with sour cream, cheese, and guacamole on the side. Filling, yet healthy. We shared the churros for dessert, and they were also great! We cannot wait to come back next week. Everyone was so nice and the food was so great! read more

Staff is hit and miss on the friendly meter. It's generally pretty clean. The smokey refried beans are my favorite. The flavors are pretty good. It's kinda like a Chipotle so it's not where I go when I'm looking for real mexican food but it's not bad and has its own flavor on things and I shop at the Safeway next door so it's fulfills a need for sure. Our family of 5 adults just ate at Boca Taqueria this afternoon. The bill was about $75 and food seems fine. About 2 hours later, 3 family members got cramps and stomach issues. We called and the manager who called the owner. The MOD was very nice but told us the owner basically said it's not their problem. This is wrong. although food poisoning can happen in an hour, most takes 24 to 36 hours. However, all resturant inspectors know that if a person feels ill shortly after eating at a restaurant it is usually a chemical contamination. It maybe insecticide, cleaner, solvent or other material that was on the food, pots, utensils or plates. The owner of this restaurant offered us a $7 credit back. What an insult. you can keep the $7 and hopefully many other people will read this review and go somewhere else. read more

Wanted to love this so much because it's close and in my new community! While we've visited the location on Higley several times. We always had a great experience and really enjoyed our food. Tonight at this location, it was absolutely yucky! We ordered two Carne Asada burritos and 3 tacos, pork, chicken and carne asada. The tortillas on all five items were cold and hard. The carne asada was fatty and chewy! Filiberto's serves better than this!!! Unfortunately, I would be a regular here in my new neighborhood if the food was delicious. We live in East mesa and been craving Mexican food on this side of town for months. We walked in and the place was very nice played great music and very friendly staff. The chips an salsa where AMAZING! nice and warm chips so we got very excited for our food to come. We got our food and it looked very nice lots of color but right away the food seems to be bla... the beans where cold the salad dressing did not seem to match the salmon flavor and I was stuck with the dressing since I already covered all my salad with it. Be aware that if u order from for delivery by a 3rd party (Uber Eats, Doordash...), this restaurant doesn't close up their order of chips. They throw the chips in a brown paper bag and leave it open. Not very sanitary ESPECIALLY when dealing with a 3rd party delivery company. Tried calling to ask if that was the "norm" and was told it was! "That's just how they do it. And it's done that way at all locations." It doesn't take much to close the bag with some tape..a sticker...something! Thanks for wasting my money and putting your customer's health at risk. read more
