The food was all right. It wasn't bad but wasn't great. The server was friendly and helpful. Even made sure I got my to-go order taken care of quickly. The outside seating area was good except we were sat next to the door leading to the smoking area so we'd get whiffs of the smoke from time to time. That definitely killed some of my appetite. Had family in town that were staying in Apache Junction. I had heard AJ has some great restaurants. We decided to try Los Gringos Locos and we were not disappointed. It was a Saturday and it was packed when we got there. Our server came over pretty quick and got our drink order. I ordered a cheese enchilada and a shredded beef taco with rice and beans. They serve their enchiladas with a dark red sauce that I'm always looking for. My husband ordered the Diablo enchilada and he said it was very good. The other two ordered the mini chimi with platter and carne asada street tacos which they said were very good. The prices are great. Our bill came to just over $70 (no alcohol this time round) which we thought was great. Their portions are decent size and no one went home hungry. They began making it then but dinner was late causing us to have to eliminate & reschedule other activities. And we had 11 hungry grandkids & 6 upset parents. This restaurant was recommended by our doctor's office. Very clean and well decorated. My husband had the 2 enchiladas combo (with rice&beans). Ground beef and green chili pork. Very flavorful. I had the mini chimichangas appetizer. It had 6 mini chimichangas- 2 each of bean in a flower tortilla, beef in a wheat tortilla & chicken in a tomato basil tortilla. We have been here several times now, as it is close to our RV Resort. Consistently good food, great service and fast service. The place was packed on a Friday afternoon, but everything still went smoothly and everyone in our party of 8 was happy with their meal. We will keep coming back. What a crazy Monday! So after spending $300 on grocery shopping we were to tired to cook so we decided that we wanted to eat out. We were looking to try someplace new and what a bust nothing was open on Monday here in the NE vally you would've thought the food industry was on strike or something? So while we were out in AJ we just happened to stumble across this place and if my eyes weren't seeing things we saw a ton of cars in the parking lot here so we decided that we would give it a shot. The place was super busy inside including the bar area we just happened to grab the last two open seats at the bar because the cold weather outside on the patio was a definite deal breaker for us. The bar tender i have to give kudos to his patients with the seniors and their 101 questions about Mexican food and what's in it took a few extra minutes but I didn't mind the wait. I ordered the beef tamale and beef taquitos combo it came with beans and rice. Now the beef tamale was steamed to perfection. The beef to masa combination was perfect and the beef itself was super tender as well as in the taquitos. The beans were nice and creamy and I can't complain about the rice either. My boyfriend ordered the pork and green chili burrito that had nice tender bites of pork. However I wished that the green chili sauce itself was a little spicier it lacked in the spice department for my taste. This was a good experience for us especially for trying a new place to eat. They have a nice outdoor patio area with a fountain that you can enjoy during The warmer weather and it's perfect for your larger parties of people. read more

We visited some family and I have never been to Arizona before, and I was really curious how Mexican food was in the Southwest. So delicious! The salsa had a little kick to it and I always order some sort of an enchilada and this chicken and spinach enchilada was perfect. I accidentally ate too quickly, it was so delicious. The chips and salsa were the best part of this lunch. The salsa was just right and the chips are light and delicious. i've been out there a couple times ordered enchiladas. I had fried chimichanga with beef. A couple tacos. The meat of the chimichanga was over salted and had a really nasty taste that wouldn't leave my taste buds for several hours. The enchiladas were like eaten rubber. Starts out with our hostess & server in Costume for our lunchtime visit (We stopped in on Halloween, and all staff were dressed for Dia de los Muertos. Gorgeous Makeup and accessories! My 4yr old grandson was very taken with the makeup and she was so polite & sweet to him the entire visit! Even served his food a bit sooner than myself and the other 2 Adults I was dining with. He wanted the carnitas street tacos, rice, bean burrito, and i was a bit worried he wouldn't eat it all, so we shared and everything was fresh, and so delicious! My husband had the 3 cheese enchiladas and they were huge! My Mother in Law had the burrito w a side of rice, and honestly i had THE BEST spanish rice EVER. And believe me at nearly 60 yrs old, living a few hrs from the AZ/MEX border, I've probably eaten POUNDS AND POUNDS of the stuff. I would literally JUST eat the rice in a huge bowl all by itself! This place has got to be the WORST restaurant out there. On top of their terrible food and raw dessert (Flan) they CHARGE you for the tip,($39 to be exact) where you have no choice but to pay it, I was looking forward to a good fajita plate and the only thing I got was a bunch of raw veggies with a bland chicken (the only thing hot was the skillet) nobody got refills on their drinks because there was only two servers running the whole restaurant. My wife and I were wanting to try a different Mexican restaurant and we decided to drive down Apache Trail and go to Los Gringos Locos. I ordered the Chicken Chimichanga. Enchiladas style. The enchiladas sauce was a different taste than what I am used to and it had a little spicy taste to it. The chicken was moist and tasted good, as did the rice. My wife ordered the Veggie Pizza and it was loaded with toppings and my wife said it tasted great. To get to this restaurant you have to drive through Apache Junction and the restaurant is on the right so it's a little drive if you don't live in the far east valley. There's a separate dining area from the bar side, there's also an outdoor dining section. All in all we will come back. read more

My review is limited to what I had last week when five of us were in the area and tried this restaurant for the first time. It was early so I only ordered a bean cheese burrito. It looked lonely on the plate with a tiny amount of shredded lettuce. It was smaller than most places serve but it did have recognizable cheese which is often not obvious in other burritos I have eate recently. The waitress was on top of things and kept our salsa, chips and drinks full. She also brought two bowls to start! The standard salsa was for 'gringos locos' but she brought us small containers of a real salsa which had a good punch. When added to the mild sauce, this was a good combination! I forgot to take any pictures except for the starter chip and salsa. The establishment was clean and roomy. My companions did comment that their dishes were good so if there is a next time I will try something more substantial. read more
