Laid back taco truck! - A black taco truck with a beige canopy is situated in an outdoor setting, with a menu displayed on the side. Several people are seated at tables, and a child is near the truck. Flags are visible on poles above the truck, and the sky is clear with some clouds.

Oh my gawd these tacos were good. Amazing tacos with beautifully-seasoned meat, piping hot and fresh right off the grill top, very kind and quick service from the truck team, and a chill atmosphere to eat on site if desired (and if you don't, they'll pack up your tacos nicely for you to take home). There are several taco options here, but I got the pastor and the chicken. Both were so good. Very few places get pastor right. Some places overcook it, some try to hide poor seasoning with too much pineapple. This was PERFECT - tender, savory, amazing. The chicken was excellent too, juicy, just the right amount of chile lime, wow. And I LOVED that each plate comes with sautéed onions and a roasted whole jalapeño. THAT IS HOW YOU TACO! There are so many expensive and fancy-looking taco places all over Arizona, places that'll charge you $5-6 PER TACO, and they're nowhere NEAR the flavor of this place where every taco is $2.50. I will be coming again and again - I've reviewed dozens of taco places around the USA and this was easily in my top 5. It's best if you bring cash to pay here by the way. This way you can leave a tip for the hard working family making these amazing, inexpensive tacos!

Quesabirria - Two slices of quesabirria, featuring melted cheese, crispy edges, and beef filling, are arranged on checkered paper inside a food container. The image shows a close-up of the dish, highlighting the cheese and meat filling, with a background of foil and other food items.

When I arrived, they were all out of every meat except asada and pollo, unfortunately, so I didn't get to try the meat that I wanted. I ordered two pollo quesatacos and one asada quesabirria to go. The chicken was ok, but the steak tasted really good, good enough for me to want to come back. But I took away one star for me not getting to order what I originally wanted and another star because I believe I was overcharged. They don't give itemized receipts, just a ticket number, so it's hard to tell how they calculate their totals. The quesabirria was $10 and the quesatacos were $3.50 each, so I'm not sure how that adds up to me being charged $24.

Carne asada, birria, pollo - Three tacos filled with seasoned beef, topped with chopped onions and cilantro, served on a foam tray. Accompanied by a pickled jalapeño and a roasted green pepper, with some pickled vegetables visible. The setting appears casual, likely from a food truck or casual eatery.

THE BEST TACOS I'VE HAD IN THE PHOENIX AREA!! So much flavor, so delicious and a welcoming atmosphere. Quick service, a busy little spot in the evening!

Al pastor, Carne asada, Birria - A disposable plate holds three tacos with various fillings: one with chopped meat and vegetables, another with shredded meat, and the third with seasoned meat, all topped with chopped onions and herbs. A lime wedge and a roasted pepper are also on the plate, set on a granite countertop.

Wanted to try a new taco spot for Taco Tuesday. Took the trek out to AJ to this little taco truck and it didn't disappoint. Between my boyfriend and I, we got 10 tacos for $16! Great taco Tuesday deal. They've got you covered with birria, carne asada, pollo asada, Al pastor and cabeza. We tried them all except the chicken. Great flavor, great value. The Al pastor and carne asada were my favorites. Bonus: they were only playing Pitbull songs on the speaker. ¡Dale!

I moved here to the Gold Canyon area from L.A. in 2015....the tacos here were in 2020 Mad Taco Az moved into A.J. and we are so happy about that. Not only do they have excellent tacos with salsitas muy picoso and grilled chile jalapeños but they have the best owners (super friendly) All the protein they serve is delish but my favorite is the cabeza Go Check them Out!!

Quesabirria - A fish taco is presented in a foam takeout container lined with aluminum foil. The taco is topped with chopped onions and cilantro, and appears to be fried fish in a tortilla. A lime wedge is placed beside the taco for squeezing. In the background, there is a plastic cup with a straw and some other food items on a table, indicating an outdoor dining setting.

I was looking for a quick lunch spot on my way out of the valley to golf in Gold Canyon and saw…read morethis place on Yelp with the great reviews. Authentic Mexican food sounded perfect and I knew good things were in store when I arrived at 11:30am on a Friday and all of inside and outside tables were full. The inside is quaint but has quite a few tables. They also have tables out front in the shade (to call it patio seating may be a stretch, just simple tables and chairs on the exterior of the entrance). You order your food at the counter and I didn't study the menu ahead of time but the ladies taking my order were patient with me. I ordered a shredded beef taco and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. Nothing fancy for my first time as it's hard to golf on a full stomach! I found the only open table and then hit up the salsa bar. They have 4 or 5 different salsas/hot sauces and a few other goodies. I got a small cup of each sauce and all of them were quite good. My food was colorful, flavorful and just the right away to give me some energy without being lethargic. I could go on about a few other nice things but it seems most of East Mesa already knows about this place given the high scores on Yelp from a lot of reviewers. Nothing to prevent me from giving a 5* review at this time. I look forward to trying some more dishes in the future.

Order at the counter, and they'll bring out to you. I saw a lot of things I want to try, but started with the nachos, pictured. Also had the asada fajitas the next day. Their meat is near perfect. Nice cuts, tender and not dry at all. Definitely a fan. Enjoyed both the nachos and the fajitas. Good serving sizes. Also, loved the staff! They were super friendly and welcoming. They offered to take my empty plate as I was about to. They also bud farewell to guests as they left. Felt like a really warm family place. Well lit, fun decor, clean. Very enjoyable - will be back!
