I finally got to check Mooyah's in Sandy off my bucket list, and I was so excited for this one. Ever since I saw a TikTok raving about their burgers, I knew I had to see if it lived up to the hype. As someone with a culinary background, I can be a little tough on my food reviews, so I rate based on presentation, taste, and value. I also factor in my overall experience with the customer service I receive. Presentation - 6.5/10 When my food arrived, everything was piping hot, which is always a great start. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with half-regular fries and half-loaded fries, all served on a metal tray. The bun was golden and fluffy, but the patty and toppings were a little hidden, which took away from that first impression. Overall, it looked appetizing but not particularly memorable. Taste - 7.7/10 The burger was cooked really well. The patty had that perfect crispy sear, locking in all the flavor. It was juicy, well-seasoned, and balanced with fresh veggies and perfectly crispy bacon. The standout, though, was the bun. It was soft, buttery, and almost cloud-like. A little more of a sear would have taken it to the next level, but overall, one of the best buns I've had on a burger. The regular fries were decent but not amazing. The portion size was huge, which is great, but they could have used a little more salt. Like most fresh-cut fries, they lost their crispness quickly. The loaded fries, on the other hand, were much better. The queso sauce added a nice richness, and the jalapeños gave it a little kick. These definitely had more personality than the regular fries. Value - 9/10 For under $15, you get a lot of food, and what really stood out to me was that almost everything is made in-house--including the buns and fries. That level of quality at this price point is rare. On top of that, the customer service was fantastic, and the restaurant was spotless. You can tell the owner and staff take pride in what they do, which really adds to the experience. That alone would be a 5-star rating if I was going to be biased. Final Thoughts - 7.7/10 If you're in Sandy, UT, or just passing through, I'd definitely recommend stopping by. While the fries didn't blow me away, the burger and overall experience were absolutely worth it. Would I come back? Absolutely! I'm excited to check off the next place from my bucket list! read more

The burgers are delicious and I really like the soft homemade buns that they make in house. If you order fries, be prepared because they are huge portions. I split the second size up with my wife and I've never seen a portion of sweet potato fries that big! They have multiple sauce options, but the ranch is disappointing. read more

I love that this burger place has options for me! Keto, paleo, and black bean burgers, I enjoy all food but want a slightly healthier option sometimes, so this is absolutely fabulous for me!! Fast service, delicious burgers, my kids especially liked the double patty melt, everyone loved the go to sauces in the fridge, coke fountain drinks, and I liked both types of fries. Milkshakes come in little moo or big moo and are made with 100% real ice cream and was very creamy delicious (Oreo better than strawberry for my kids). It has a shake shack feel with healthier options, but the jalapeños are pickled canned, not fresh. Also there's a family meal option that comes with four burgers and shared fries and it was only $30!! Too bad my kids didn't want that... next time!! I would add my boys 13 and 11 said 5 stars! Today was the first time I ate food from this restaurant. I placed an order for pick up through their app. My food was ready ahead of schedule. The service was not amazing. The guy at the register was texting...another guy looked at me and walked away...and a third guy with a headset on just stared at me. I finally went over to the guy at the register and told him i had a Togo order. He did grab it for me then. I ordered the build your own burger and I have to say it was pretty delicious! My wife and I just attended the 2024 Utah Family Christmas Gift Show at the Sandy Expo Center...and we were starving. We had plans to patronize Mooyah afterward, and we are glad we did! We found the place to be pretty busy and the staff behind the counter was in a constant state of movement, and after looking at the overhead menu, my wife and I placed our order with a very pleasant young lady who addressed all our questions and confusion. My wife ordered the bacon cheeseburger combo ($13.48) that had a moderately sized burger with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, "Mooyah sauce" (described as a more liquid version of 1000-Island Dressing), and Bacon*. She chose sweet potato fries. I ordered the "Best Quesonario" combo ($12.98) which seemed to be a slightly larger burger, covered in sweet chili queso, mayo, fried onion rings, jalapenos, and tomatoes. Observations: o *My wife's bacon burger was devoid of bacon. Not good. I carried it back towards the counter (past a group of gentlemen all wearing Mooyah polo shirts...the owners?) and one of the food runners stopped to help. He wanted to know if I wanted a new burger or just some bacon. I said bacon. And he brought out 5 or 6 strips of fresh bacon that my wife applied to the 60% of her burger that was left. Problem solved. o My "Best Quesonario" burger was de-lish...the burger was slightly crispy and tasted great. Perfectly sized. o We both got generous helpings of fries...mine were potato and hers were the sweet potato version. All the fries were dumped in a heap onto wax paper on the metal tray. Mooyah should consider putting them into a foil container to keep them hot for the customer instead of scattering them where they cool fast. o The floor of the restaurant was gross. In fact, my wife partially slipped on something sticky. The entire seating area floor could have stood a good mopping. o The unisex bathroom on the left was out of paper towels to dry your hands. o The fridge containing the fry sauce and the ranch sauce was a great idea...but the two bottles we used were slimy. Hopefully, they got a wipe-down after we left them on our table. o The sweet potato fries were an additional $1.50 o The vanilla shake was an additional $4.00 on top of the 'combo' price. o We walked out of there @ $34.28 Four Stars for good service and delicious burgers and fries. The fifth star is on hold once the management and the staff pay better "attention to details" (bacon, bathroom towels, dirty floors, sticky bottles, and keeping fries warm.) I get why some people think it's soggy or overpriced, but this isn't a regular burger. It's a soft fresh bread bun. People complaining about grocery store soda and other burger places being more expensive.... then go to Wendy's if you want your fries all the same color and texture, and Smiths for your liter of $1 soda hahaha. Of course it's a bit of a premium place. I thought it was rather good. Not just some regular Wonder bread bun. Everything was really fresh. Fries were great. Kinda tasted similar to Tonyburgers fries. Like fresh cut potatoes. Only downside was the ranch was odd and bland, and a little chaotic in how you get your sauces on the counter. But I would definitely come back when I wanna treat myself. Also upgrade your drink to a shake for a couple bucks more. It was great. I tried the Sandy Mooyah Burgers for the first time and was so impressed! I ordered the Mooyah special which was a regular Mooyah cheeseburger, fries, and a drink, all for $9.99. Great value for the money. The burger was juicy and cooked perfectly and the bun was toasted and not your normal hamburger bun.. The hand cut fries were fantastic and were cooked perfectly (crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside)! Probably the best hand cut fries I have had. We came for the fresh fries, but were very disappointed. Using fresh potatoes doesn't help if you don't know how to cook them. The first batch we got was barely warmed, served to us limp and greasy! We asked for crisp fries, and the next ones were slightly better. But they were overcooked, and hadn't been drained properly. Fries that aren't drained well get soggy really fast. Parking was easily accessible and there was plenty of room even though the restaurant was busy at peak lunch rush. Service was quick and staff were pleasantly polite. The food was amazing and portions were generous, even in the kids meal. We ordered a kids meal little burger and bacon cheeseburger meal. We've had MOOYAH out of state before, but hadn't visited this location yet. So glad we have one nearby now. Seating area was mostly clean, with only a few tables that could have benefited from being wiped down. My only request would be to attend more frequently to the walk area just outside the kitchen, as grease tends to accumulate and the floors become slippery. Overall, a wonderful visit. There are a few in my city but tried it for the first time here. Expensive! $10 for a burger only. We spent almost $40. Overall, the burger had good flavor, the bun was soft, but it was a lot of sauce which cause the bun to be soggy. I would order sauce on the side next time. I like that you can get your own sauce. We went to Mooyah tonight for a quick bite and once we got there we saw it was popping. At first we were a little nervous about how long it would take to get our food but the service was very quick and we got our food in about 5 minutes. The food was great I had a Mooyah cheese burger. The bun was the softest I've ever had and tasted great. The rest of the burger was pretty generic but delicious. There could have been more sauce on the burgers but it was ok.
