Both types were so good! The Bangkok was delicious and surprisingly it all went together well on a pizza. The pepperoni was wonderful as well. My love for Moose's Tooth will never go away. I absolutely love Moose's Tooth. At this point, it's a comfort meal. My family consistently gets the Chipotle Steak Pizza, Diablo Sticks with a side of Garlic Sauce, the Thai Wings, Cream Soda, etc.. There is usually a wait in the summer time, as it is a very very popular place to eat, but it is worth it. As a local, I prefer takeout during tourist season and sit and eat in the winter, or go during off times (2pm/3pm). The fire place at both, Moose's Tooth and Bear's Tooth, is such a nice added touch. While it's realistic to sit by in the winter, it really adds a warmth to the atmosphere. read more

Per my best friend's suggestion we had to stop by during our layover. I thought it was going to be super busy but it wasn't too bad at 2:30 on a Tuesday. Worth every minute (or hour) of the wait! They offer a large selection of beers for you to enjoy out in their "beer garden" during that time. Appetizers came promptly. We got the Denali cobb, herb-y and flavorful hungarian mushroom soup, and savory and creamy smoked salmon spread to start. There definitely wasn't enough bread and extra bread does indeed cost extra, but our server recommended pairing the spread with pizza crust (for those of you who never eat it :)). We took the leftovers home to eat with our own bread and it was delicious. Pizzas took a little longer since they are quite busy. You're able to order the pizzas half-and-half, which let us try a lot more variety. Highlight was the amazing apricot: savory, sweet, creamy. Thin crust wasn't floppy either! Ended the meal with a cobbler which was fresh and hot from the oven. Inside was filled with fresh fruit, and it was not too sweet. If we are in Anchorage again, I will definitely be back. I've been stalking Moose's Tooth for years via my work colleague who lives in Anchorage and visits often, so I was more than excited on my own recent trip to the area when he suggested we meet there for dinner! But when it came to the taste, something was missing. The sauce didn't have that homemade freshness I was hoping for, which made the pizza feel a bit average. The crust was thin and chewy, and while it had plenty of toppings, the lackluster sauce held it back. For comparison, we had just come back from Homer, where we tried another pizza spot with different toppings, and hands down, that was the best pizza I've had in Alaska. Now onto the pizza.. the firehouse is actually pretty spicy. My husband and I both have a decent tolerance for spice and we were impressed. The forager was good but we didn't get any notes of the truffle or garlic oil. Overall, the pizza felt dough-heavy and would have benefit from more sauce or a thinner crust. I don't know what happened to my first review, but I have heard about this iconic restaurant for years so I was so excited to learn it was within walking distance of my Airbnb. From the hostess to the bartenders, I rarely got service and I actually had to, initiate everything!!! I wanted to try it again because the crust was actually really good. When my friend came into town, this was the first restaurant I took her to upon arrival. I got the alpine apple beer, which was good. we split a pepperoni pizza. And I don't know what it is about this restaurant but they put little to no sauce on the pizza. Again, it was just OK. So glad we got a small and split it. And again, customer service sucked. The hostess and our bartender/waiter were terrible. We realized later that our bartender had charged us for a piece of cheesecake which we didn't have. We tried to go back later to get him to refund us and they claimed they couldn't refund. They supposedly don't have a way to refund. Which is bullshit. After asking to speak to a manager, the bartender who happened to be our bartender/waiter the night before gradually refunded us eight dollars for the cheesecake we didn't order or eat! read more
