Aside from the fact that it is CASH ONLY and the bartender set my change in some beer/water/liquid, it seems to be an alright place. It's Mooses! What can I say? Mooses is a legendary institution here in the valley. It was the first place I ever dined at in Montana. Walking into mousses is like stepping back in time. Saw dust on the floor, characters at & behind the bar and the best damn pizza surely in Montana if not in the northwest. Great soups sandwiches as well. Beer and wine only. Don't go there for the wine list, but they have a great beer selection in bottle and on draft. Never have had a bad meal or experience there. Take home-drive up window also available. read more

I've been a customer here for 50+ years. It is great example of an old time Montana bar . It has sawdust floors, friendly efficient bartenders and incredibly good selection draft beers. The food is quality and always freshly prepared. The pizza is usually very good however the quality has some what uneven in the last few years. Give it a try. You will like it. Last kitchen open in town. Everyone said to get pizza but I took my chances avoiding the carbs and was pleasantly surprised with my salad.

Moose pizza is really good. I always get their pepperoni and bacon. Their reuben is also pretty good. Their beer is so cheap and good. Our favorite guy there is Frank. He's very friendly. My friend love hanging out there, and we love throwing peanut shells everywhere read more

An interesting cultural experience. Great beer selection, standard pizza, saw dust floor, unpretentious, everything is self-served. On a Friday night, at 5pm, the place is already packed with locals, families, dudes, gals. Pizza took a while, but we had several TV screens of football and tennis to kill the time. This is one of the cooler places I have been to in Kalispell. Very popular with the locals. It is a combination of dive bar and pizza joint. Very dark inside with sawdust on the floor and rustic decor. You can't beat the prices on their beer and food...$1.50 for my PBR's. They had a great selection of 20+ beers. This is a cool place, sort of a happening bar with really good pizza, lots of different beers and a good variety of sandwiches. It's noisy and certainly not the place that would be your favorite for a nice evening dinner, with conversation and all of the trimmings. This place kills me. A small draft of budweiser and a can of ice cold coke with cup of ice for my DD was only $2.25. Craft draft beer, $2.50. I love visiting the flathead valley for their warm, non nonsense hospitality and always stop into Moose's whenever passing thru. Oh and their signature food, Pizza's are killer. read more

Okay, not being a local it takes a minute to figure this out . They will clean your table in a jiffy...but then they ignore you. Totally. It's part of the plan. Got to the bar to get a beer (don't bother paying attention to what the web page says about selections, though) then go to the little window in the back corner to order your food and tell them what table you are sitting at. Then go sit down and ask yourself why you are sitting in another bar with mediocre pizza and sawdust on the floor...before you will have thought up an adequate response the mediocre pizza will be at your table. And after dinner go get your hearing checked because EVERYONE YELLS IN HERE BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE JUKEBOX UP TOO LOUD! You might want to tell them to turn that down...if anyone can hear you. Totally a dive bar with poor lighting, but the pizza is fantastic. Order at the window and they'll bring it to your table. It was a little greasy, but the thin crust was so good and crunchy on the bottom and the mushrooms tasted fresh. And where else can you get beer for two bucks? The bar might be divey, but the restroom was spotless! And it's not just an adult place. Lots of tables around us were full of families with kids. I'd come back here for the pizza anytime. read more

We loved their pizza. Wish I had their crust recipe. It's very thin and tasty. I had a 7" white sauce pizza with chicken, spinach and feta and hubby and son had a large pepperoni. We all devoured it and I'm not a pizza person. This place is all about the casual experience so enjoy that. Pick a table, order at the front, then go buy your drink at the bar. Buy some peanuts and throw the shells on the sawdust covered floor. My 11 year old could be his boyish self and we sat back and enjoyed the family experience. I don't live in Kalispell. I have family and friends that do. I go to Moose's every time I'm in town. The atmosphere is always lively and the pizza is always delicious. Maybe even the best I've ever had. Crisp crust which I love! If you're in Kalispell, go to Moose's and have a pizza! read more

Since I grew up in Kalispell I've been going to Moose's as long as I can remember, including when Moose was the one standing behind the bar. They have the best pizza ever and a great selection of local beers at a smokin price. The pizza isn't cheap, but absolutely well worth the cost. Went in for lunch on Saturday and by the time we left, 1:30ish, the place was packed and just hoppin. Expect it to be crowded if you go during peak times, but that's all part of the Moose's experience too. read more

If you are not looking for it you will miss it-just like the locals would prefer! I had no problem with the service or the cleanliness. The bar was busy, but I had very little wait for a beer-at a bargain price! Quite a selection on tap and the bartender easily directed me to the dark beers-Guinness for my first choice. Then the pizza order. You have to order and pay for it at a separate window-I prefer cash so I had no problems, but I do not know if they take credit. Know your table before you order or you will have to come back and tell them! Pizza came out quickly and hot! Let it sit for 10 minutes so my fingers did not melt. The combo pizza was great! I am an occasional visitor to Kalispell to see my wife's family. Moose's Saloon has been a must go place every visit for me over the past 15 plus years. Previously I thought the unfriendly actions of the bartenders stemmed from how busy it was. But this afternoon on a rather slow lunchtime visit I thought maybe, just maybe, my exchange with the bartender might exceed how many glasses and the price. I kind of felt since I'm not a local me ordering beer was an inconvenience instead of something every pizza buyer ought to do. On top of that for the first time we were charged $1.50 for what used to be free peanuts. For me if we return to Kalispell on a visit I will make sure to take Moose's off of my list of things to do. I am sure with more and more options coming to town there's a lot of better things to do with my money!! Resting on your laurels is no way to run a business excepted into the ground. read more
