Just got a foot massage and it was pretty good. However giving the business a one star as they were arguing with me about the their tip policy. They tried to enforce a $10 tip policy or more on their $35 service stating that their people can't take anyone else within that hour. Well no duh, why would they massage multiple people at the same time within the hour. I have been to multiple asian massages in the city and never heard or been harassed about a ridiculous tip policy that tries to rip you off! There are walls in each room except instead of doors there is a curtain. Note: Another similar spot in Hoboken is J&J Bodywork, but the rooms at J&J are made up entirely of curtains. I called around 12:30 pm on a Sunday to make an appointment for a 60 minute massage, I booked the next available time slot which was 3:00 pm that same day. Our friends gave my wife and I a gift certificate for a couples massage here. I had never heard of it but since I love massages I was excited to try. It wasn't difficult to find an open time and we came on a sunday. First off it was very hot inside this place. It is winter time but damn. It also isnt the most luxurious spa. Looks kind of rickety from the outside and you can hear whats going on in the lobby and in hallways during massage. The tables were also old. That being said, you are coming here for one thing only and that is massage which they do a good job of. The massage wasnt bad either. The masseusse seemed to know what they were doing and I left feeling relaxed. I enjoyed this massage just as much as any other I got. You come for the massage and leave there isnt any other amenities. The positive news is you won't break the bank here. The price is awesome. $45 for a 60 min massage is hard to find anywhere. Do not go here . It's a really sketchy, dirty massage parlor. The place and room were very dirty and grimey. The sheet they give you to cover yourself during a massage is a cheap beach towel. The owner had the nerve to ask for two dollars more for tip. Are you joking me? How about you pay your workers and stop being a cheap business owner. A tip is optional. OPTIONAL . Tried this place out based on the reviews. I called to set up my appointment 24 hours prior. Got to the spa a little early and they accommodated me. Temperature check and COVID precautions in place. Sarah was my masseuse. She was excellent and focused on each section of my back, legs, and arms. Hot stones used. She checked in with me and asked me how I was doing. I felt super relaxed during and post the massage. $50 for 60 minutes plus tip ($10+). By far one of the best places I have experienced in a really long time. I usually love this place been coming here for years and tip well, i hate to leave a bad review but idk if it was her first day or what but this was by far the worst foot massage I have ever had and u could literally just caress my foot and I would be more than satisfied. All she did was cause excruciating pain. She didn't massage my feet at all she beat them up. My feet are not hard or bony so I'm not sure why she used to many knuckles and pointed fingers for them. She even rubbed all her knuckles into the top of my foot which is where u can feel most of ur feet bones. She didn't do this once this was most of the massage. Hard fast and painful. If this was my first time here I would have left without paying and never came back. I really hope I never get her again. At the end when rotating my ankles I thought she was gonna break it. When u feel resistance u should stop not use ur body weight to continue twisting it. I'm really shocked. The only enjoyable part was the hot bucket of water at the very beginning. However on my way out the receptionist tried to enforce a 20% tip policy when I handed her a couple bucks. I am sorry but tips are not mandatory, I am a hospitality worker myself and tips are never mandatory. The manager who takes calls/appointments is very accommodating- once I called and they didn't have my preferred time slot. I didn't inquire about cancellations but he called me later that day to let me know that my time had become available! I also came here for treatments while pregnant, and while they do not have a maternity table, the therapist was extremely knowledgeable about what areas to work on avoid and on safe positioning. I called ahead and made an appointment, which I think was the right call since I saw a walk in come in and he had to wait a few hours. The space is warm (which was a + on a cold day) and clean. What's great about Moonlight is that the massage spaces are not separated by curtains, you actually are in your own private space separated by walls. So those folks complaining about privacy, or no frills... ignore them... you get a 60 minute massage for $45. please. Aida gave me an hour long massage and she asked me if I liked medium, light or hard pressure. She was spot on, and always checked in on me to ask if everything was okay. Before putting on the hot stones, she gave me fair warning and asked if it was too hot. I asked her to focus on a specific area, and she really did. She went above and beyond compared to what I've experienced with overpriced masseuses . They give a stamp card too -- after 10 hours you get 1 free. Ihad been going to Washington Body Work near the court house for a long time, but I this summer I had a bad experience with them. I decide to try the Moonlight Spa, which is much closer to my home. The facilities are spotless, and the people very easy to deal with. I tried several of the masseuses, and found them consistently good. However, I think that Lucy is the best masseuse at the spa for my needs. She gives a very deep massage, ending with a hot stone treatment. She is constantly wonderful, and I have returned repeatedly for her soothing hands. Great place, highly recommended. read more

Ever since my fiance and I discovered it, we now get massages every couple of weeks as opposed to once in a blue moon. It is not ritzy inside, you lay on a bed with a thin sheet as a door. They cover you in a beach towel and start the massage over it before taking it off and giving you a regular massage, but let me tell you, the massage ROCKS. And its so cheap. Excellent spa in Hoboken, great prices, and wonderful masseuses. I tried a couple of places before and decided this will be my go-to now on. I called on a Friday evening to try my luck as my neck and lower back felt wrecked from all the Crossfitting and sitting on the chair with my head into my patients' mouths. The guy at the reception said he could get me in ASAP. The place was clean and neat. I was welcomed into the massage room by my masseuse and was given a couple of minutes to undress. The massage was absolutely great. The warm salts, balm and the right amount of pressure can really relieve a lot of the knots and pain. The hot stones and the warm towel were excellent add-ons too. Of the 60 minutes, usually, at least 35-40 mins are spent on the back. I am sure you can tell them to address any other concerns/problems you may have. Lulu was my masseuse and she was phenomenal. While still in the room, I was ready to give her a good tip but was ticked off at the fact that they had a "$10+ tip" sign. I suggest they take that off as it doesn't seem professional and may "rub" people on the wrong side. Lol. read more

Hands down worst massage ever. I've been feeling really fatigued and sick for the past couple of days so I thought a massage would help. At the beginning of the massage, I told my masseuse to focus on my neck and shoulders, and I physically pointed out what regions. She spent less than 5 minutes on those regions and moved onto the rest of my back. About 15 minutes later, assuming she forgot, I pointed out this spots again. She spent less than 5 minutes on my shoulders ALONE and moved back to my lower back. I gave up. During my entire massage, I was extremely uncomfortable, and my masseuse chose to ignore it. The table was so uncomfortable that one position would cut off my circulation, another, the only position I could tolerate, hurt my jaw so much, that I ended up lying on my forearms, with the masseuse constantly moving my arms into a different position because she didn't seem to catch my drift. When it was time to flip over, she contorted my body into weird uncomfortable positions to "stretch out" my back. I was extremely exposed during these "stretches," and she wouldn't stop. During my head "massage," she literally KNOCKED my head several times. I could hear the echoes of my brain rattling. When I was finished with the agonizing massage, my masseuse left the room to let me change back into my clothes. Less than 2 minutes later, she popped back in asking if I was finished. I was in the middle of tying my hair, one hand on a towel attempting to cover myself, and I coldly replied no. She spent the remainder of the time waiting outside my curtain. When I finished paying, my masseuse stood next to me just waiting as I reluctantly gave her a tip, and she immediately said ok thank you have a good day, and rushed me out the door. Never have I been literally rushed to leave. It's not like there was anyone waiting!! There was literally no one except me in the place. I couldn't wait to get out of there since I clearly wasn't welcome. I walked out the door, with nothing put away, and got dressed and settled in the little alcove outside. Keep in mind that there's about 2 feet of snow outside. It was absolutely freezing. After the worst hour of my life, I'm feeling dizzier and worse than before I walked into the place. Getting a REAL massage in the RIGHT places immediately after. Long story short, don't go here. It's not worth the $48.15 for an hour of pain, discomfort, and unwelcoming attitude. read more
