I booked an hour body massage and 30 minute reflexology for my first visit, which turned out to be a mistake...other reviewers had said they don't mind you extending extra service which I should have done. Soon after my body massage started I asked the masseuse to increase some pressure, which she did well as I could feel the difference. It became painful when she worked around my shoulder and neck area because of the way she inserted the pressure, but at the time I thought maybe that's just her way so I bore with it. Although she massaged through my whole body, I didn't have that satisfying feeling of being "worked through" when you know you got a good massage...so at that point I wasn't looking forward to the reflexology that came after, and it turned out strange too..it was more like her swishing my feet than a massage....I tried so hard to try to enjoy but nope. Price was decent, but unless you know a reputable masseuse to ask for I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

Here's the thing with this place - there are zero frills. Which is great if you're on a budget and would just like a good massage. I went in for an hour - only $45! - and was very happy with what I got. Keep in mind your room has a curtain instead of a door so you do hear noise from outside, and they use beach towels instead of all matching company towels, but if you're coming here you're not here for the towels anyway. I went to hang up my clothes right next to where the massage bed is and coming out my bra was stained with oils. When I confronted them, they tried to place the blame on me. This is a brand new bra it didn't come with oils on it. They kept lying to me about why it wasn't them & I eventually said "your oil is clearly on my bra how do I get it off" and the man working the front told me to use detergent which hasn't helped. And why should i have to worry about washing out a stain after a supposed to be relaxing treatment i spent money on? If there was accountability in the beginning, the situation would have unfolded differently. But they were dishonest & continued to be. And I get how pouring oils, it could accidentally get onto a bra hanging up next to you but that needed to be an apology and a fixed situation. They should have offered to wash what they stained but instead they lied & took no accountability. I cannot support a business that is dishonest & I can't recommend this place to you. read more

I had a great massage here today.! The spot is very simple and not anything like a fancy spa but the massage is amazing. I got the 75 minute massage for 60 bucks and my masseuse was able to really spend time on my shoulders and feet like I asked. The nice thing is they're able to get you in quickly and I got a same day appointment. And they also use hot stones and hot towels on you as well at the end of the massage. The rooms aren't really sound proof so you will hear some sounds from the other rooms and people talking but for me I was more interested in a really good massage. read more

My hubby and I went in for a couple's massage. The spa is tiny, The massage rooms are only separated by curtains , there are no doors hence pretty audible. We could hear people leaving the spa and entering the spa. They only provide you a towel to cover your body, there are no proper sheets. The towels are pretty rough. My masseuse was Lisa and my hubby's was Amy. I told Lisa that i wanted Swedish massage but when the massage started , i was crying in pain. I told her to reduce the pressure and she said okay. She was fine for a while but went back to painful pressure again. I reminded her again and same thing followed. At that point, it was no point asking her because either she was not listening or she did not care. When she massaged my head , i felt like she was piercing nails into my head. I am shocked that she could not read that i was in pain and continued. I also felt a lot more exposed during the massage than i have ever been at other places. When she asked me turn around , she did not even hold the towel and i was completely exposed. I also felt the hot stones and hot towel was super hot. I was more stressed and in pain after the massage. My hubby was fine as he prefers deep tissue but he also felt a lot exposed during the massage. I would not go back as it was a nightmare for me. People who do not care about ambiance, noise, being exposed and enjoy deep tissue will probably love this place for the inexpensive value, walk ins and included hot stones. But after living in China, I realized the truly therapeutic purpose of weekly massages. Probably as an offset of living in the stressfilled urban oasis called the NYC metro area, I decided to go for monthly massages and find a "value" place ($80 for 60 min) in Hoboken. I only go to cheap Chinese massage places in NYC with friends in the know. I would've never even considered any in Hoboken because they seem a bit dodgy from the outside. But following the recommendation of a neighbor led me to Moonlight Spa. And I'm hooked. It's clean, service is friendly, and the massages are among the best I've ever had. The price is great. As part of the grand opening, it started at $40/hr and has risen to $45/hr (still really great). Cleanliness is a big deal to me and I must say their facilities and amenities are clean, it feels good to be relaxed in warm, clean and fresh smelling towels. Amy and Angela were great masseuses if you like medium hard to hard massage. They use hot stones and hot towels, and heed reasonable requests like if youre more sore on a certain area and want to spend more time on it than other areas of your body. My cousin and I decided we needed massages so we went on the hunt on yelp looking for pretty good reviews in the surrounding area. We called a few places before finding this hidden gem. The price is affordable and the massage was stupendous. The only reason I deducted a star is privacy and noise level. It's no 5 star place... I get that. But I like silence when getting a massage the masseuse in the same room working on my cousin was also answering the phone so he kept coming in and out. People pop into your room when they need to touch base and I felt that that took away from the serene experience. Other than that... you get what you pay for. I will be going back for sure. I'm so sad that I'm giving this a 3 Star rating. my massage was terrible but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and hoping it was just my masseuse that wasn't good. I got a 1 hour massage and it was honestly torture and all I wanted it was to be done with. So to begin with she only used one hand for about 55 minutes of the massage which was so weird and actually really annoying because she would only massage one spot on my body with one hand. It just felt so uneven. Then I asked for medium pressure and was getting the strongest pressure I've felt in my life (I'm extremely sore today) she also did these weird stretches which actually hurt and I felt so exposed. I've had so many massages and this one was the most painful and did the opposite of what I wanted it to. Im totally fine with a no frill spa but sadly this one was just not good. I'm tempted to come and get a massage from another employee because the rave reviews really have me confused. read more
