My sister and I ordered delivery from this place for dinner and the food was absolutely awful. I got their signature avocado bulgogi bowl and she got the Korean hot chicken bowl. We also shared the cauliflower appetizer, steamed broccoli, and strawberry and banana chia pudding desserts. The bowls looked nothing like the wonderful pictures they have online so don't be fooled. My bowl had barely any of the bulgogi in it and it was mostly kale. In addition, it tasted awful, none of the flavors worked together and I could barely eat a few bites. My sister also did not like her bowl as it had no spice whatsoever and tasted mostly plain and nothing like the description online. Their chia pudding had no flavor at all. I could not tell the difference between their strawberry and banana flavors. Overall, we were very disappointed by this place and would not recommend it. read more

So fast and there is something super respectful about the pride they take in their service. They care so they move fast. Also, I have a lot of dietary issues (so I eat Whole30) and Moonbowls is one of the only places I've found where I can eat out and is actually good and doesn't feel like a regular meal with all the good parts taken out and no complexity. Today I tried Moonbowls for the first time. I was excited to try this new and exciting restaurant but it was very disappointing. First, I ordered the food at 6PM for pickup arrived to the restaurant at 7PM and the food was not ready. They said the food was delayed 30 minutes to an hour. When I asked if I could cancel the order, they said the order was ready and proceeded to make me wait an additional 40 minutes. Once we got the food we had the avocado bulgogi bowl and the "don't cauliflower it a come back." Both dishes were cold and the flavors were subpar. Found this place post-Covid. If you're picking up yourself just be aware of the wait since the pickup window is also used by other restaurants. Onto the food: my five stars is for the vegan avocado bulgogi. This is prob the best vegan dish in all of Chicago. We ordered via door dash, so I can't really remark on the restaurant itself. The food was pretty good but rather pricey for what you get. I didn't particularly like the bowls...not really authentic Korean (the chicken breast was almost as if they bought cooked chicken from the store and chopped it up). The fried cauliflower was delicious though. I may just order that as my meal next time. Given that this is healthier, I would also have preferred nutritional information to be available. read more

Recommend "Chicken and Egg" and "Don't Cauliflower It a Comeback". Previously I never liked chia pudding or anything chia. The chia puddings at moonbowls changed my mind. I talked my party into going here, while the food was tasty, not a SINGLE order was correct. Of all the extras that we paid for, NONE were included with the order. None of our meals resembled the pictures. My Korean hot chicken did not include any red onions, sesame seeds or a lemon slice. I was originally interested in their gluten-free potstickers. This place is not great. The protein portion is big. I got the chicken and egg bowl. The flavors are super weird together and the chicken was over cooked so that it was rubbery and a bad texture. It was fine- that's really the end of it. I had the sweet chicken kimchi bowl. Not bad but not great. I really don't recommend the noodles they don't hold any flavor and not worth the up charge. I also ordered this delivery so it cost a total of $27 and it was definitely not worth that. I would be willing to give it another try at the store when it's hot and no delivery charge. I also agree with other reviews that it is watery- especially with the noodles since they don't hold flavor. read more

Im sorry to rant. In theory I wish to support these "ghost kitchens." It is a great way to start out in the business. No overhead just a bunch of recipes and good. But, take a pass on this operation. The cauilflower was delivered cold and soggy *(and BTW the kitchen is all of 1 block from my house). The rest of the order was completely messed up. *(Pity the person who got my order because whaat I got bore no relation to what I ordered.) The bowl itself was cold and soggy. Again it traveled one block. They mean well and I hope they get better. BUT after three tries I will send my tastebuds elsewhere. I recommend that you -- who may hope for warm, and tasty meals with the ingredients you ordered--- go elsewhere as well. read more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I wish I could give them negative stars. We tried moonbowls before, didn't care for it, but we decided to give them another chance when we got a message for free delivery. Big mistake. This location is very weird; Panera, Chick-fil-a, Portillos, moonbowls (and not sure what else) are all served out of this location. I ordered Panera previously not knowing this was the case, went to this location to pick up my food, and it was a CHAOTIC nightmare. The food is served out of a trailer-like structure and delivery people from Door dash, Uber eats, etc...are all in a big group outside a window and showing people's names trying to get the order they are picking up. It is super disorganized, no systems, etc...So delivery for our moonbowls order took an hour and a half to get. It originally said it would be about 30 minutes. Our delivery driver said they sat there for over 45 minutes waiting for our food. Now let's move on to the food: some of the rice was overdone and some of it wasn't cooked at all and was very hard when I tried to chew it. My order was missing items as well (onions and peppers which I doubled for my make your own bowl). The impossible beef was also very chewy. I would spend your money elsewhere. read more
