I stopped in here for a family dinner tonight and we enjoyed our meal. We had 6 in our party. We walked in to a busy restaurant but were seated swiftly. They have a variety of Italian dishes, wide selection of pizzas (deep dish, Sicilian, pan, regular), strombolis and calzones (both of which are huge. I'm most impressed that they had a no dough calzone to accommodate low carb, or keto guests. The food was delicious. It's been one of my favorites in the area since I was a kid. read more

Robin Sloppy I eat at Monte Cello's often. They have so many amazing foods it's hard to chose. I had the Fettuccine with meat sauce salad & garlic bread, the proportions are large, the food is always great, & hot. The waitresses are friendly, the prices are very reasonable. The resterant is always clean. I also recommend the fried zucchini with pasta. I didn't know till now they have delivery as well as a place in Baden which is closer. read more

The food is delicious and the server was very nice and accommodating. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because we were made to wait for a table because all of our party of 5 wasn't there yet. We wanted to have a drink and appetizer while we waited- the restaurant wasn't busy at all but the bar was full so we had to sit in the hallway . I would have understood if it was busy but we came early and there were only a few people in the restaurant. We went there on a family reunion trip to Pittsburgh because this place had always been a favorite of our family. The calzones and Stromboli that we ordered were amazing, just like they have always been for years! Loaded with cheese, meats and deliciousness. Still a really good restaurant with friendly service and delicious food. The wedding soup hasn't changed. It's one of my favorites in the area. They got rid of my favorite meal on the menu (manicotti), but they have shells stuffed with cheese, which is very similar. Going there with someone in a walker is a bit difficult and I can't imagine dealing with a wheelchair there. There are stairs on one side of the entrance and a curb on the other. If they have a ramp anywhere, I've never seen it. read more

I agree with the current average of 3.5 stars. Monte Cello's is a local chain restaurant that serves mostly Italian foods. I had previously rated the location in Ross Township as 5 stars, so I felt excited to try this location in Cranberry Township. Upon my entering the restaurant, I saw a few employees standing near the door. The seating hostess walked my husband and me back to a booth. My seat had crumbs on it from a previous customer, and my husband and I both commented that our seats felt hard rather than comfortable. Our waitress soon arrived and gave us menus to look at. I felt disappointed that the menu for this location did not list some foods from the menu for Ross. For example, this menu did not have entrees such as shrimp scampi or sides such as breadsticks. The menu listed several entrees, but it included mostly simple pizzas, wings, salads, hoagies, calzones, strombolis, sandwiches, and pastas. Our waitress waited to put in our order for our entrees, so we waited a little while for those foods to come out. Later, we asked her for drink refills, and she brought them out. I rate our appetizer combo platter of fried zucchini, cauliflower, mushrooms, provolone sticks, onion rings, and jalapeno poppers as 3.5 stars. I rate my entree of stuffed shells as 4 stars. I rate my husband's chicken parmesan as 4 stars. Our total bill was $50 plus a tip. read more

Be aware that if you order chicken Parmesan off the catering menu, what you will get is very tiny bits of a couple pieces of chicken Parm chopped up over the pasta. As I was expecting regular serving size pieces of meat, my meal was thrown off for Christmas and extremely disappointing. Customer service did absolutely nothing for me. Very misleading when you read the catering menu. The noodles were soggy. Not a good option for catering. read more

For what it is Monte Cello's is a solid 4. We had a large group of people for lunch. If you have more than 20, you must do a buffet. The cost was reasonable per person, $20 including soft drinks and taxes. Tip was extra. I am not a big lunch eater but not only could I take home my leftovers, but we could all take home anything left. And everyone was leaving with leftovers. Different size boxes provided. Service was friendly and attentive. I liked the salad which showed a little bit of extras, like finely sliced red onion. To have options for vegetarians, the first selection was penne with marinara. Meatballs were separate and were a nice size, like mom used to make. Green beans were canned but tasty. Sometimes you just want a good, doctored up canned green bean. Two types of chicken, stuffed and parmesan. The parmesan had a $#%load of melted cheese. I like that. As a matter of fact when we were leaving, I scooped up the rest of the melted cheese to take home. I have a lot of leftovers. This place is a little off the beaten path for me and that route 19 traffic is a killer, but I would return. One negative, not under the restaurants control, handicapped access to the restaurant is not the best. As with so many things in Pittsburgh, it is nestled in a hill. From one side there are a few steps to get to the restaurant. On the other side, down the hill away from the parking, it is better but there is still a big step making accessibility hard for many people. Frankly I am surprised the shopping center doesn't have a cut out. I looked for one and didn't see it. I hate to see people struggle. The restaurant itself is handicapped accessible. Called in an order a couple Fridays ago to order a large pepperoni pizza. I'm so glad we did since when we arrived there was a line out the door and it was about a 45 minute wait if we have driven up instead. Even with the 15 minute drive home the pizza was still nice and hot. The crust was chewy and semi-thick, and the pizza had a fair amount of pepperoni and lots of cheese. I have been getting regular pizzas and calzones here for 20 years. Tonight I decided to be adventurous and ordered a Sicilian and a Chicago deep dish pizza. OMG, I truly could NOT believe how terrible BOTH were. The Chicago deep dish was 0% like any deep dish I have ever gotten. It was kind of like a pan pizza but totally dried out crust with ZERO flavor. There was no sauce on it, just chunks of tomatoes. Could not even taste the pepperoni at all. I was just so confused how it could be so bad. The Sicilian too had no sauce on it and zero flavor. We've frequented Monte Cellos on and off since 1994. It was a family tradition for Fridays ; Monte cellos and movies back when you rented them. Then it became a great place to meet the kids while they were out with friends. Nowadays it's a good place for a date night with the wife. Monte Cellos is pretty popular on a Friday night. We ordered a pepperoni pizza for take out and we are glad we did because it would have been a long wait. Signs said they were short staffed, but there seemed to be a lot of employees milling around and people being served quickly from what I could tell. Our pizza was ready 30 minutes after calling it in. We were so hungry we ate it in the way home. The crust was thick and chewy, sauce was great, and very cheesy. If I'm being honest, it was a little too cheesy for my liking, and I like cheese. It wasn't my favorite pizza ever but it definitely wasn't bad. There is much more on the menu to be explored but we have been making it a quest to try all the pepperoni pizzas around to find our favorite one. Haha! read more

We had a variety of pizzas catered for a work lunch. The veggie pizza is delicious. Slightly charred broccoli, spinach, olives, mushrooms...yum. Crust isn't overly chewy. The sauce to cheese ratio is great. Salad comes with two different dressings - ranch and a vinaigrette. Pretty standard fare: iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, olives, shredded carrots, tomatoes, and croutons. I've heard the pasta is pretty good, so probably would give that a try next time. read more

My boyfriend recently moved to Cranberry and this was the first place we went out to eat. Staff went above and beyond by wearing masks, distancing tables and designating one entrance and exit. We ordered a dozen Cajun wings and a pan pizza to split. The seasoning didn't stick to the wings very well, but they were still crunchy and delicious, especially with their homemade ranch. The pizza was so good- the crust, the cheese and the sauce. We'd like to try their deep dish next time. For a dozen wings, a large pan pizza and two sodas, it was $45 with tip.
