Have been to this restaurant multiple times and have always loved it!! But I was very disappointed with the thanksgiving dinner special. The whole plate was cold and seemed like it was sitting out for a while, and because of this the turkey was quite dry. Portions were also super small. Also did not get the turkey sandwich to take home since they ran out at about 7:45 pm. And did not receive any type of refund. Not worth the $55. This experience has put a bad taste in my mouth and will most likely not be coming back in the future. Terrible thanksgiving. read more

Love this place!! The Mai Tai's are the best thing on the menu and if you haven't tried one, you should!! We always order a mai tai and the kalua pork and mushroon pizza with basil pesto but since the pesto isn't available at this location the chef created one with sage, let me taste it 1st and then once I approved it he proceeded to make it and let me tell you it was fantastic!! The food is definitely quality and the presentation was on point. Service is always top notch and Brandon the bartender is great. The food was pretty good at this place but be ready as it a bit pricey. Service was excellent. We had a hand tossed pizza with pepperoni and another with pork, pineapple and jalapeños. Both pizzas were really good! Also had the fish and chips, they were ok. At the time we ate they had ran out of banana cream pie so we had the strawberry and a chocolate one. The chocolate one is very rich but the strawberry was a lot better. If you have allergies, double check your food. Went here after hanging out on the beach and walked over as it wasn't too far away. We did bar seating as there wasn't a wait. We started with the garlic truffle oil fries and those were pretty good, a little bit salty but had a good crunch. Then we ordered the seared ahi steak cooked to rare and that was really good along with the jalapeño mashed potato's. I was a bit worried about the taste of jalapeño being overwhelming but it was actually more of an after taste. We also got the pork bulgogi tacos which were also very good. We arrived at 830 on a Weds night, which where we are from is peak time for dinner. Things were winding down here, though, and they were out of several menu items. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive but he was running! I tried a craft beer which came tasting like water. It was explained that it was because it was due to tap being near empty. I was given another choice which was delicious. I ordered a wood fired pizza, came out frozen on some parts and burnt on others. My husband ate while I waited for a new pizza. New pizza was good but large pool of oil under middle. They are famous for their drinks especially the Mai tai. These are 18$ and very small. The table next to us had them and said not worth the price. It was also very noisy. I usually don't mind noisy restaurants, but this was extreme. read more

The restaurant is slower at that time and makes it perfect for a date night or for drinks with friends. Came to the Ko Olina side for an early lunch since we had a dinner at NOE at four seasons and wanted to have something light before going to the beach before dinner. We had the garlic truffle oil fries as a shared appetizer, and then I ordered the bulgogi tacos, and for the price, I wouldn't even complain, it's 3 tacos for $20, but oh man they were the best bulgogi tacos I've had, and they were loaded, the flavors mixed were amazing, the sweet salty meat, the sweet pear, spicy jalapeño and aioli, and the light flavor of the kimchi, it was literally a party in my mouth. My brother had the kalua pork and pineapple pizza (which in my mind is a 'Hawaiian' pizza because on the mainland a Hawaiian pizza is pineapple and ham) but I'd definitely take this pizza over any Hawaiian pizza, because that salty pork and sweet pineapple was great. It is supposed to come over a pesto sauce but it was substituted for normal red sauce. I'd definitely come here again! Loved Monkeypod! The atmosphere here can be best described as fun. It's right across the street from all the resorts in Ko'Olina, so easy walking distance for even the kiddos. Their cocktails were fantastic! Try the No Ka 'Oi... "it's the best" (that's literally the translation). Food was delicious, from the pumpkin patch raviolis to their Kailua pork and pineapple pizza. They even had free Mac n cheese for kids under 3! Service was great! As soon as beverages were getting low, the servers were already asking if we wanted another. And the drinks came before we could even finish the previous drinks! My only complaint was the wait. Since they didn't take reservations, we got there close to 6:30p but had to wait an hour and a half to be seated. I ate at this Moneypod Kitchen with my family last night, and I have so many good things to say! Firstly, and I think this even goes without saying for the Monkeypod brand, the food was delicious! Everything was fresh and felt home-cooked. Our service was quick and efficient, everything you want for an early happy hour meal. The highlight of my experience was our server, Kawika. He was kind and wonderful. He was attentive, even turning back to check if we needed something else when I asked my dad if he had wanted to add something to our entrees. Best of all, Kawika was exceptionally considerate of my allergens. I have nut allergies, and when I mentioned them, he not only made sure our food was safe, but he also asked me, after we were served, if I felt safe with the food at the table. I have never experienced that level of care for my safety in food service. This visit we called ahead and secured a 5:30 pm reservation anticipating a busy Saturday night. Upon our arrival, we were greeted and directed to the upstairs dining area with a panoramic view of the well groomed grounds, surrounded by grand foliage and the ever present beautiful blooming, aromatic Plumeria trees that make for a romantic and or chillaxing dining experience. Usually we try to arrive early, during the 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm happy hour to grab a seat on the lower outdoor area, taking advantage of their specials. Today we were having to much fun at the not so "Secret Beach" just a short walk away and decided to come in later for dinner. After we were seated, Todd greeted us with his Aloha filled persona and gave us a brief but detailed overview of the house specials and asked what drinks we would like to start. I ordered a "Monkey Pod Mai tai" while we discussed which of the scrupulously hand crafted appetizers to enjoy for our gastronomical experience. Their signature Mai Tai has a unique liliquoi foam on top of a luscious blend of light and dark rums, fresh juices and a classic pineapple slice. One of my favorite Hawaiian drinks that packs a tasty but powerful kick. We decided on a pepperoni pizza, Cesar salad, Fresh Organic Baby Romaine and Mixed Greens Salads that set the tone for another epic dinning experience. My wife and I decided to share an entree. We chose our server Todd's recommendation of the house NY Strip Steak special. I ordered the steak medium rare and it came out perfect with a luscious Chipotle sauce and side of creamed cauliflower with a bead of local sweet corn. A fabulously crafted combo that made it a perfect pairing with the steak. We added an order of oven charred Brussels Sprouts to top off this sensational meal. No room for dessert this visit! Stopped by here during our last night at Disney Aulani. It is a bit pricey, but the quality was definitely there. I tried one of their popular dishes which was the bulgogi tacos - and it did not disappoint! So much flavor! My nephew had the lobster pasta, which I unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to try (mainly because I was so obsessed with my tacos). He's a pretty picky teenager who mainly orders fettuccine Alfredo whenever we dine out, but he said this lobster pasta dish delicious, and worth the price (which he surprisingly paid for himself LOL). The customer service and atmosphere with live outdoor music are top shelf as well.
