This location use to be called Marquez Bakery and I am not sure of what is different since they changed the name to Monique. I come here for their breakfast sandwich which is $2.25 for fresh baked bread, egg, cheese, avocado, and your choice of bacon or sausage. They offer table service, however I have only ordered to go and have never had issues. There is a wall cabinet full of baked goods that smell amazing. There was a sample bucket by register and I did try the crunchy cinnamon bite which would have been amazing to dip in coffee.

We usually get everything to go so this dine-in experience was really nice. Employees at the…read moreregister were super helpful when I had questions about ingredients when I was considering deviating from my normal order. I didn't deviate. I got the Alambre again, with camaron (shrimp) and my husband got his alambre with fajita. The kids menu is easy and accessible with American and Mexican options. One kiddo got quesadillas. Our eldest had street tacos with fajita. We also ordered nopales and lengua tacos. The nopales was next level good!! The decor and atmosphere are invigorating and exciting to look at. Several of the posters made us giggle and we gave our kids a quick lesson on luchadores because of the masks on display.

Every time we order, the food hits -- flavorful, fresh, and made with care. The tacos are always loaded with juicy, perfectly seasoned meat, warm fresh tortillas, and that chimichurri salsa? Absolute game changer. I love that they never skimp on the cilantro -- it gives everything that fresh, real-deal touch. My go-to is the barbacoa taco -- ridiculously tender and packed with flavor. The fish tacos are spot on too -- crispy, light, and perfectly seasoned. And I'll usually throw in one or two beef tongue tacos every time because they're just that good -- rich, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth legit. We've tried plenty of taco spots nearby, but Guanataco just has that "made with love" vibe. You can tell they care about their food, and it shows in every bite. And look... we always say we're not getting the churros, but somehow they end up in the bag every single time . No regrets -- they're crispy, warm, and the perfect sweet finish. If you're in or near Grand Prairie and want tacos that actually hit, Guanataco is the move.

Walking in, the restaurant immediately impressed us--it was spotless, bright, and very well organized. I loved seeing the area where they make fresh homemade flour tortillas; it really added to the authentic atmosphere. We were warmly greeted by the hostess, Ms. Chloe, whose friendly smile set the tone for a pleasant visit, and she quickly seated us in a cozy booth in Ms. Rebecca's section. Rebecca was attentive, kind, and efficient throughout our meal, bringing water, chips, and salsa right away and giving us time to comfortably look over the menu. We ordered a side of guacamole, bacon-wrapped shrimp, and the lunch beef burrito with Spanish rice. Although I'm not a seafood eater, my daughter absolutely loved the shrimp and finished every bite, which says a lot. The guacamole was fresh and the overall experience--from the service to the atmosphere--was very enjoyable. The only disappointment for me was the ground beef burrito. It was a bit underwhelming and didn't have the flavor I was hoping for, and I wished I had chosen the steak instead. On a future visit, I'd happily return but will definitely skip the ground beef option and try something else from the menu.

I ordered the jalapeño ranch fajita chicken salad, and it was delicious! The flavors were great and everything tasted fresh. My only complaint is that the portion of protein was very small compared to the size of the salad. Other than that, we were all happy with our meals. Definitely recommend giving this place a try!
