Employees at the register were super helpful when I had questions about ingredients when I was considering deviating from my normal order. I didn't deviate. I got the Alambre again, with camaron (shrimp) and my husband got his alambre with fajita. The kids menu is easy and accessible with American and Mexican options. One kiddo got quesadillas. I went here for the first time for dinner since my dad really loves it he wanted us to try it for my sister's bday. There is plenty of seating and you can put tables together for big groups. You order at the counter and then once its ready you will have a beeper that will vibrate to let you know. Food took maybe 15 mins to be ready but that was good time since we ordered alot. I ordered the taco plate and hubby ordered the chicken quesadilla plate. I had horchata and it was good. Chips and salsa are not free but you can order for $5 and its worth it. They have a pretty good selection of meats to choose from. We ordered ours with barbacoa. It was loaded with rice, beans, and cheese. My husband and I split it. We also ordered some tacos de fajita and chorizo. The meats had really good flavor but they were just a little dry. I made sure to add lots of lime and salsa to make up for the dry texture. They have several salsas to choose from. I wasn't a fan of their salsa roja. It had a mayo taste to it or something. The chile árbol was delicious and spicy! My favorite. We also had the salsa verde and that one was pretty tasty. I'd come back if I was in the area. I don't think I'd drive out here for it. This is probably my favorite place to get tacos, elotes, I mean anything! Their chili/salsa bar is amazing. I can't think of the name of my favorite one but it's the light orange one. Its kick hits you in the end , delicioso! So that being said where this is located I can't go very often because of where it's located it triggers a trauma for me. I know TMI, so I get it to go & get out of there. This was a Friday I ordered, went to the bano, marveled at their ambience got my food & left. Everytime I go to Grand Prairie I find a new place I didn't know I was missing, and I'm a little mad at myself for not exploring GP more often. Where have I been the last decade? Guanataco has just been there existing without me and now I have 10 years of missed meals to make up for. You cannot beat the taco plate. $11.75 for 3 corn (flour for a small up charge) street style tacos with proteins of your choice, a side of rice and refried beans, and grilled onions and peppers on the side. Plus several salsas to choose from (the habanero is hotty hot hot so watch out. Go with the salsa verde for a delicious mild option). And you get a drink with your tacos -- all for $11.75. It's really a good amount of food for the price, which is low in today's world of prices. Any entree + drink under $12 is pretty exciting. I'm excited to come back for sopes or tostadas. Maybe I'll try the enchiladas. Or a burrito bowl. Whatever I get I know the filling will be flavorful -- the meat in each of my tacos (grilled chicken, fajita beef, pastor) was plentiful and juicy and really well seasoned. read more

I want to throw up. The food was horrible. It's very disappointing because we used to really love this place. I ordered a campechano taco, a bistec taco, and a tripas taco, and they even charged an extra 60 cents just to have the tripas doraditas instead of soggy. The salsas had things floating in them and mixed up. Just gross all around. The whole meal came out to be close to $60 for those tacos, a small pozole, and a lengua burrito. The burrito was almost $15 and was mainly filled with rice and beans, with barely any meat. For that price, the quality should be much better. Everything was cold and soggy. It's really sad to see how expensive the food has gotten while the quality has gone down. They really need to do better. read more

Was on this side of town and gave this place a go. This inside of this place is very nice. Decorated nice and it was packed so it must be a fan favorite. I do like the option of different salsas they let you try and have for you. I got 5 tacos, 3 steak and 2 shrimp. I will say they were pretty small and lacked flavor. Still good. Was great don't get me wrong but some plates lack a little more for example the tacos could have had more flavor and fixings instead of putting them on the side. Not deal breaker but just my preference. The queso, bean, and chorizo was interesting without a doubt but not amazing. The alambres was nothing like I expected. I get the idea behind naming it that but that was definitely not what I was expecting. It was a semi pricey place and did not wow me for that price point. Also had a shrimp ceviche and I felt like the cocktail and ceviche they used frozen precooked shrimps. Definitely not a fan of frozen precooked shrimps is how I noticed it. La comida no probaba mala, pero para pagar más de $45 por comida fría, la próxima vez mejor se las ago yo y no tener que ir aquí otra vez. The Horchata drink was good but the Limón drink didn't taste nothing like Limón but tasted like Cucumber. The food was cold, nothing on my plate was even close to warm. Worst ceviche ever! The shrimp is not cooked in lemon. It is water or microwave cooked shrimp with pico de gallo. No lemon, no salt, no pepper. What a shame paid $14 for diced tomatoes, cilantro, onion, and reheated Walmart shrimp. Don't get this. I don't know why they are so bad when their menudo was alright. What a horrible plate. I ordered the strawberry Margarita and my friend ordered the watermelon fruit drink. It did taste like fresh watermelon. We ordered tacos for dinner, beef fajita tacos, fish taco,, carnitas tacos, and beef cheek taco. Our favorite was the carnitas tacos - so good!
