Boring. I'm sorry for leaving a bad review but this place was terrible. I got 4 separate custom bowls and all the meat were just bland. Was I supposed to get ALL the sauces for it to have any flavor? Also, noodles should just be standard. To have to pay extra for noodles? So it's $15 for just the veggies and meat? Even the soda was a miss. Zero nice and flat. I took a bite of the food and said nope, I'd rather just throw it away than eat this.

The Mongolian Grill is located inside of the Burbank Town Center on the first level. Parking is available for the mall and is free! The restaurant is very clean and they are always wiping off the bar and keeping it freshly stocked. The service is average, but fast! They also serve boba, tanghulu, as well as the Mongolian bowls. When you order, you order a bowl which you pay for first and they give you on your tray. Then, you make your selections of protein. Your options are shaved pork, shaved chicken, and shaved beef. Next, you add in any veggies you want in your bowl (broccoli, cabbage, onion, peppers, mushrooms, etc.) After that you give them your bowl and they add in the noodles and ask you what you want your spice level to be as well as if you want garlic. Once you do that they dump your bowl onto the round grill to cook. The cooking technique is very amazing to watch! After it's done, they put it in a to-go container and you are on your way to enjoy an amazing meal. For a mall food court option, this is certainly the freshest, customizable option you have that is a great quality as well as quantity.

This is the best wok in LA! Food is super fresh and you can really taste the smokiness. Staffs are super friendly, will def visit again!

Maybe a little pricey now but the food is always good. This is my go to spot in the mall for food.

Came here at 7:40 and both staff members female and male told me and my husband that they are "closed" i nicely said it's 7:40? We drove from Pasadena to come here and they said "sorry" ignored me and kept working. Keep in mind I'm also 35 weeks pregnant. I have time stamps of us being here well before "closing time" need better staff and you need to take orders until closed?

    Mixed tanghulu!

I'll be honest, I haven't had the food here in months and months but they sell tanghulu now which makes me really happy because before I would have to travel out to Little Tokyo or Alhambra to find it!

I always enjoy coming here--the food is delicious, the staff is welcoming, and everything is always clean. Love this place!

Amazing food with real smoky wok flavor. You can tell they use a proper grill because the taste is on another level. Definitely coming back!

Unique, traditional Mongolian dishes with wonderful service. It's so cool that you can see that the restaurant is a hub of culture and community as well. SoCal Mongolian community loves Arag. They have karaoke nights and other events that support the community (I think an attorney who works with the Mongolian community does events here too), so that's always a plus in my book. Love all of the traditional decor and knick knacks here as well as the M-pop and music videos that they play on TV too. We managed to find free parking nearby, so it is possible. For our later lunch, we got the: 1) Mongolian Hot Tea: -This was a salted milk tea when I had it. Very unique and the slight saltiness with the sweet milky taste is refreshingly different from other places. Definitely a bit of an acquired taste but I like it whenever I have it. 2) Deep Fried Flat Dumplings (Khuushuur): -Comes with 3 pieces, it's deep fried dumplings with your choice of protein in a crispy dough shell. We got the lamb offal since it's the most unique one that they had. I don't usually eat organ meat but this wasn't too iron-y or ammonia tasting like other times I've had organ meats and was seasoned to perfection. No weird texture either. -Every culture has some form of dumpling/hot pocket-esque food that is delicious and super easy to eat. This is a popular street food in Mongolia and you can easily see why. Moist delicious seasoned meat in a crispy dough shell? Say no more. -Comes with a small side of their slaw salad. 3) Smoked Stir-Fried Noodles with Beef Brisket: -This was our "main" entree with carbs and protein. -It's smoked Tsuvian (actual name of the dish) with traditionally prepared hand pulled and pan fried noodles, made with beef brisket and julienne carrots, zucchini, and homemade salted chives. -It's a simple dish you can find in many other cultures but the seasoning, the way the noodles are prepared, makes it delicious in it's own way. Perfect for those who want to try something new, but don't want to dive off of the deep end so quick. 4) Steamed Soup/Bituu Shul: -This is a traditional sealed soup with tender mutton, slow cooked in a sealed pot with wild herbs, garlic, and ginger. -Super unique dish and very eye catching. Seeing this on the menu I had to get it. You can drum the top of the dough with your spoon like a drum. Pretty fun! -It's a very flavorful broth soup that has a strong flavor of lamb and herbs. Perfect for a cold day or if you're feeling a bit under the weather. The dough pieces make for nice "pasta like noodles" for the soup. Lots of lamb meat pieces in it too. Definitely recommend, but next time I want to get borscht too since it's one of my favorite soups. A must for unique and delicious food!

Honestly, I'd never tried Mongolian barbecue before, but this first experience blew me away. I'm so glad this place exists; I love supporting local businesses, and this one deserves a bigger spotlight. It's tucked inside a shopping center, surrounded by other stores, but parking was a breeze. I went on a weekday around noon, and they have a great lunch special which is $15.99 for one plate, or you can get the all-you-can-eat option for $21 or if you go for dinner time. I was torn between this and my usual craving for beef and broccoli from Panda Express, but I'm so happy I chose this spot. Once I walked in, a super friendly lady greeted me. she was fantastic. She explained the menu, walked me through everything, and you could tell she treated every customer like a VIP. The concept is so fun: you fill a bowl yourself with your choice of meat: chicken, beef, pork, or bacon and then veggies like broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, and more. You can pick exactly what you want, and they cook it in front of you in no time literally a minute or two. The fact that everything is fresh, and you can see every ingredient, made it even better. Plus, she surprised me with a little sesame seed topping and brought out a fresh bread with a sweet-and-sour dip which was really good. For just $16, it was an absolute steal. And she even mentioned a senior discount, which is a great touch. The decoration and table/chairs are a little outdated but no big deal. I left feeling so satisfied. this place is a gem, and I really hope more people discover it and keep it thriving. We need to support local businesses like this when the food is tasty and fresh, have a good friendly staff and prices are reasonable!

I cannot believe I've lived in Covina for about five years and completely overlooked this spot. Not…read morejust the restaurant, but the entire shopping center it's in right off the 10 freeway next to Denny's. This place honestly felt like such a random rediscovery, and now I'm already planning to bring my grandparents back tomorrow because I know they're going to love it. First off, I really appreciated how straightforward the pricing was. They give you two options, either a one-time bowl for around fifteen dollars or all you can eat for a little over twenty. For a sit-down restaurant experience, that felt more than fair. And honestly, if you're even a little hungry, just go all in with the all you can eat because the whole concept is part of the fun. What really stood out to me though was the service. From the second we walked in, we were welcomed so warmly. She explained everything, helped us get set up, and made the whole process feel super easy, especially if it's your first time. At first I thought maybe she was going above and beyond because she saw us taking pictures, but then I noticed her interacting with other customers the exact same way. She was helping a gentleman at his table, checking in on everyone, refilling waters, just genuinely attentive without being overbearing. It felt natural, not forced. The food itself is exactly what you want from a Mongolian barbecue spot. You build your own bowl, choose your sauces, and they even give you a guide if you're not sure how to balance flavors. The sweet and sour sauce was honestly so good. Everything gets cooked right in front of you and comes out in what feels like under two minutes, steaming hot and fresh. If you're doing the one-bowl option, pro tip, stack that bowl high. If you're doing all you can eat, you can take your time and try different combinations each round. One thing that completely caught me off guard was the bread they had in the middle area. It was fresh, slightly sweet, and just really good. It's little things like that that make the experience feel more complete. And then what really sealed it for me was something small but meaningful. As we were leaving, I saw her helping an older woman, literally holding her hand and walking her out. That had nothing to do with us, nothing to do with a review, that was just who she is. That kind of genuine care is rare, and it stuck with me. Overall, this place is easily a five out of five for me. The food is good, the concept is fun, the pricing is fair, but the service is what really makes it stand out. It's the kind of spot you bring family to, especially people like my grandparents who would enjoy the experience of building their own plate and being taken care of at the same time. Safe to say I'll be back very soon.

Mandatory 15% tip for ZERO service? And they can't refill some radish?…read more I really wanted to like this place because the concept of Mongolian pies is unique in Rowland Heights. The food itself is decent--the pies are juicy and the lamb soup is hearty on a cold day. However, the dining experience left such a bad taste in my mouth that I can't ignore it. Here's the thing: 1. The "Service" Fee (aka The Silent Robbery): They automatically add a 15% tip to the bill. Normally, I'm okay with this for good service, but here, the service was practically non-existent. We had to flag someone down just to get a water refill. It feels less like a tip and more like a mandatory surcharge that goes straight to the owner while the staff couldn't care less. 2. The "No Refill" Rule: We ordered the Lamb Radish Soup. The broth was good, but when we politely asked if we could have a tiny bit more of the radish (not even the meat, just the veggie) from the kitchen, we got a straight-up "No." For a place charging premium prices and forcing a tip, being told you can't have a few cents worth of radish is just insulting. In short: The food is 3 stars, but the principle of the thing (bad service + forced tip + stingy refill policy) drops it to a 1. If you want to try the pie, do yourself a favor and order takeout to avoid the mandatory service charge that doesn't reflect any actual service.
