You don't come here for the announce but you definitely come for the food. I was really impressed with the quality of the frozen beef here. They offer other meats including lamb, chicken and pork as well but I stick with the beef. It's your usual Mongolian style bbq where you pick what you want and they grill it up for you on the flattop. Rice, egg drop soup, and pocket bread is included. The pocket bread is incredibly thin and not soft and puffy as other places that I have been to. The egg drop soup is also rather bland. Again, within expectation. The reason I'm giving this place 5 starts is because the quality of their beef is really good. You can claim that all frozen meat is the same but it's not. This place has better beef (I can't make the save claim for the other proteins) than a lot of places that I've been too and they have a decent enough selection of sauces. The options I believe are there for the usual veg and accoutrements (e.g., bean sprouts, bell peppers, onions, cabbage, carrots, jalapenos, tofu, noodles, etc). If I'm in the Pasadena area again and I'm craving Mongolian BBQ,I will definitely come back here. The owners were very nice and made me feel welcomed. Very homey, mom & pop feel. Support your local businesses when they're good! Beware though, this place is located in a tiny strip mall with even less parking. read more

This spot is a personal favorite. Aside from the food being delicious, it's a cozy place and I consider it affordable. I always get super full off my first plate, but I like the AYCE option. The buffet area is usually tidy and full even on a busy evening. I like to combine chicken + beef, garlic and spice, and a ton of veggies. read more

Came here yesterday and had a wonderful experience! The food was really good and filling. I loved that I got to pick everything that went along with my noodles and add my own sauces. They leave recommendations as well to make things easier in case you're not sure, kinda how I was! The service was great and they make sure to bring you side dishes along with an already large plate of food. I really enjoyed going because everyone there seemed to know exactly what to do as if they come a lot. It's clear that people who go tend to come back often! I look forward to coming again read more

Pro tips: 1. Put MORE sauce than you think you'll need since a lot of the water cooks out! 2. If you think you still need seasoning after it's cooked, don't feel shy to go back to the sauce bar and put more! 3. Use 3 bowls when getting your plate- 1 for your proteins, 1 for your veggies, and the last one for your noodles! 4. Last but not least, use the complimentary bread to pick up the leftover sauces on your plate ;) so delish!! This continues to be my favorite Mongolian BBQ AYCE place! Staff is always SO friendly and welcoming, and you get serviced very fast even with a full house. read more

I'll keep this one simple: Took my car to Toyota Pasadena for service. They said it's going to take two hours. I went to get Mongolian AYCE (cause honestly, I've never had it before). Was greeted by very kind people. They sat me down, gave me bread, rice, soup, and got my drink. I went up and got noodles, veggies, and beef. Took that plate down. Went back up and got Rice, Veggies, and Chicken. Took that plate down. Then went back up for more Noodles, Veggies, and Beef. Took that plate down. Food was good, especially for the price! My only reservation with the food is that I feel like the sauces they had were watered down (but then what do you want for 15.99 AYCE?! LOL) Service was great, super friendly people. Ambience - it's a typical restaurant, so not much ambience, you're there to stuff your face as much as possible. I would totally recommend this spot to people. read more

This place is Pasadena's ( eve San Gabriel's) best Mongolian BBQ. It is all you can eat and exceptional value. They even provide complimentary soup, Mongolian bread, eggs rolls appetizers and oranges. Definitely worth for you to try this Pasadena mainstay. BTW my friend swore his Mongolian bbq was the best before trying this spot and now this is his favorite. read more

AYCE Mongolian BBQ is genius! I've been here twice already and the first time I came and tried the lunch all you can eat. It came out to be $15.99 per person for lunch! I think it's $19.99 for dinner. I went back today and got takeout which was on the more expensive side since it's 60 cents per ounce. They offer a wide variety of self serve meats, vegetables, and a sauce bar. The staff was very friendly! You let them know how many plates and if you want take out or dine-in before you grab all your food. If you dine-in, they offer an egg-drop soup plus rice or bread. If you take-out, they only offer either rice or bread. read more

Passed by this area a few times. Always wanted to give it a try. We love Mongolian BBQ. One of my favorites closed a few years ago and we have been trying to find a replacement ever since. So in we went. Inside was nice and clean. Plenty of seating. We were there pretty late. Around 8pm. Plenty of seating for a Tuesday night. The staff were very helpful. Showed us what to do. Brought out the sides fast. Refilled the drinks. Etc. we never needed to ask for anything. They even encouraged us to eat more! That family type vibe that makes you feel welcome. Food was amazing. Everything was as fresh and restocked. The kids loved the soup. I loved the pocket bread. And of course the star being the noodles and meat. Everything was fantastic. I highly recommend! read more

$15 AYCE in this day is a steal! With that said, I wouldn't be back. I think the seasoning they use is on the sweet side but lacks depths. I got so such and tired of eating it midway and I didn't even fill up my plate compared to most other customers. Adding chili sauce to it helps. Egg drop soup, bread, and white rice is included in your meal. The egg drop soup was surprisingly very good! Small pieces of corn included, sweet n savory. The bread was very basic not fluffy at all but hey there's sesame on them lol. The meat options included chicken, pork, turkey, beef, and lamb. All of them were decent. Lamb had no gaminess. Service was excellent overall. read more

Cozy neighborhood place for a healthy meal! $19.99 buffet served with mini eggroll, cheese wonton, egg drop soup and crispy hot-pocket pancake. Lots of meat option, and it was my first time seeing turkey meat option in Mongolian BBQ! Fresh veggie with lots of greens, freshcut tofu, mushroom and more. The Sauce bar also had a great variety of choices, almost made me want to get a second plate! Overall, great deal for a cook to order hot meal!! read more

I've been here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner, and the experience was almost the same both times. Dinner has a few more options, including some different veggies. It's a buffet style bar where you build your bowl and they cook it fresh for you. The food is great and very affordable at $16 for lunch and $22 for dinner. It also comes with rice, bread, and soup, which are great additions, especially the bread and soup. Parking is easy. They do not accept American Express. Restrooms are available but require a key and are located outside the restaurant. I would definitely come back. read more

A very tasty Mongolian BBQ place, reasonably priced, good variety, and very good service in front of and behind the counter. Nothing fancy in decor, but clearly popular with the locals. This is the best AYCE Mongolian out there! Every other Mongolian restaurant has disappointed me because this place set the bar way too high. The price is an absolute steal, and I really appreciate that they're able to keep it at $15.99. Everything is spotless, the ingredients are fresh, and there are plenty of sauce options. Saturday March 23 2024 1PM & Wednesday December 11 3PM Woah I almost forgot about this place! It's been years! Mongolian BBQ! All you can eat? Say less! Don't you dare try beating the buffet! Ahhh I take it back! Be prepared! Drink tons of water night before and do a 5k fun with lots of water after wait 2 hours before and then eat meat for all the courses! No carbs! Just mEaT! Haha jk your choice! ;) It's like those Chinese fast food spot except you create your own recipe. All the liquid sauces are watered down so add double of what you like for the full flavor or your food will be bland. Softer liquor license so there is beer & wine. Lunch specials are about $17.50 that's when you include tax and about twenty something dollars for dinner. They are closed on Tuesdays. Restrooms are out doors. They normally aren't busy & have good service. Parking is small with a little liquor store in the same tiny plaza. Overall a good spot to stop by and enjoy if you're craving cheap Chinese fast food but can eat a gang load. read more

This place serves such consistent food, with good service, and a great price for an all-you-can-eat meal. I recall coming here with large groups as far back as the mid-2000s and it has always been a pleasant experience. Even seeing other business around this tiny plaza come and go, Mongolian BBQ has been a pillar. I digress-- Two-hour lunch breaks from working at Sears with loaded up buffet plates and pitchers of beer are a fond memory of mine. We always felt welcomed, although objectively it must have been worrisome to see the entire home electronics and appliances departments swarm in and take up the main dining area to eat and be merry. I think we caused them to run out of meats one time... If you load your bowls up properly, one with protein (lamb, beef, chicken, pork) and another with vegetables (bamboo shoots, cabbage, carrots, broccoli, etc.) and douse it in some sauces (teriyaki, house, bbq, sweet, etc.) then you'll have no desire to get a second plate. You'll be stuffed and need a take home box. Part of the experience is watching the chefs cook it all up for you with some noodles. I've also witnessed the chefs accommodate strict vegetarians/vegans and scrub the grill down before cooking a veggie plate on its own. So that it would not touch any meats or have any meat flavors. Pocket bread, egg drop soup, white rice, and rolls can also be ordered separately and added to your buffet experience. Personally, I enjoy a hot tea with this type of meal. There is a larger parking lot on the west side of this building, and there is an entrance along Colorado Blvd. The parking lot that is shared with the liquor store is rather small. No validation required or time limits or anything, which is a great part of dining in East Pasadena. I appreciate you for the great food and fond memories, Mongolian BBQ. read more

This place is so underrated! This is one of our go to places for Mongolian, and it's WAY better than the one in the mall. The veggies are always fresh, meat is decent, and the cooks work so hard and do a great job. The service is actually GREAT here and the staff is genuinely nice. You can tell they've been around for a long time, and have their regulars that come in. The food is really just so simple and so good. I usually add beef and a bunch of veggies. Tip: bring cash for tips! And make sure to tell the cooks beforehand if you don't want (I assume it's diluted soy sauce) added to your stir fry otherwise they'll add it without asking. I also think that's how they prevent it from sticking to the grill but I was on a sodium restriction and didn't tell them in time, oops! Skip the bathroom, haha. Go somewhere else. This is my favorite Mongolian BBQ place of all time! We even make the drive all the way from Orange County when we are craving for some Mongolian BBQ. The staff here is nice and friendly. The area where people select their selections of meat/veggies/sauces is kept very cleaned and well maintained which is very nice. We got 60oz worth of food togo, and it was only about $39...... Talk about getting your moneys worth-SOOO WORTH IT!! FYI - It's also AYCE if you eat it there read more

My buddy asked me to come here with him for nostalgic reasons. He used to eat here when he was in school. That tells you how long they've been around. The late 70's, I recall the owner saying. I've seen this Mongolian Grill restaurant many times when I'm next door at World Market but never walked in. So this was a new experience for me. The concept is simple (in case you've never been to one before) It's self serve, grab a tray and some bowls. Load it up with protein, veggies and sauces and hand it to the grill fellas. They'll cook it and plated it while you wait. Plus, it's ayce so you can repeat the process and try different things. The items are limited, so don't expect a Vegas buffet. For protein, thinly sliced beef, pork, lamp or chicken ... just like hot pot meat. Veggies include spinach, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, tofu and some others. There are about 8 sauces for you to choose from. Confused? You bet I was. Luckily there's a sign above that lists sauce combo suggestions. After the food is done, I hit it with a bit of cumin powder for that extra burst of flavor. To me, their hot oil isn't hot at all, so perhaps skip it to avoid the extra grease. This is not a gourmet meal whatsoever. But for the price and speed, it makes for a quick and filling lunch. I thought of this place as a 3 star, but went up to 4 because the owner is very friendly, the food was cooked quickly and it's at a great price ($15) and that also includes soup, rice and a pita-like pocket bread. You can always decline those extra items if you want to stick with the grill option. * They have a small parking lot. For lunch, it's probably better to arrive before noon or it can get busy. read more

Always genuinely love coming to this place! I found out I loved this cuisine from the red iron Mongolian place at the mall nearby. However, they've gotten really pricey and they have complete control over how much food you get. Here, they have AYCE options when you dine-in ($15 for lunch and $20 for dinner) and charge per pound when you do takeout. The food is delicious and they offer you corn soup, naan bread, and rice when you dine in. This place is relatively clean but you can tell it's a bit run down. Not a problem though when the food is great! The servers also are attentive. read more

You get to choose your sauces, etc. They will cook it for you in this huge round grill (I'm so bad I do not know what it's called) We also ordered to-go, but I think dine-in is way worth it because they weigh the food you get for to-go (oh no!) Great all you can eat Mongolian bbq. Great staff and great options for mix ins and sauces. Service is quick and efficient.

I came here to Golden Palace Mongolian barbecue with my sister for lunch the other day. And that's when I realized they are and I can eat now for lunch. I've been here a couple times in the past for dinner only and I was in I can eat situation, and lunch used to be a one time trip. I kind of like that ayce option now because there's less stress of trying to cram everything into the one bowl that you get. The restaurant itself isn't too big but it is enough for what they do. When you first start off you select all your meat options. They have beef chicken pork and turkey and lamb. Then you go clockwise to the veggie station, there are lot of different options here. Then you head over to get a couple of noodles if you would like. And then next to there is where you have all the different sizes. I always feel like regardless of how much sauce you're not getting it ends up being not enough and the chefs and adding more sauce to the mix anyways. At the table, your served a cup of soup, rice if you would like, and also a savory pastry that you can enjoy with the food. Sometimes the pastry is fluffy enough and you can poke a hole in it and end up making into a food pocket. Overall, this is a great place to get some Mongolian barbecue and to be able to stuff your face for a reasonable price. The decor inside isn't the best but there's character here. I'm genuinely excited when I come visit here and I can't wait for my next trip. The parking situation is kind of limited here in the parking lot. read more
