Each dish is small so our table ordered a quite of few plates and did more of a family style. So we could try all the dishes. The wines were also great, we got to the bottle of moscato and a wine flight! Our waiter was friendly and great! :) We brought a birthday cake and they were able to keep it in the fridge for us. We decided not to have it served there since they had an additional $25 fee for brought in desserts. Overall the ambiance of the restaurant was very pleasant and the Photo Booth was working and took only card and you get 2 photos for $5.55. Felt very nostalgic

They just do it. This is because their service and common sense about the needs of young children/older toddlers far surpasses Bess's. Even when they could seat us at a smaller table with chairs only. Many staff here are not in tune with the needs of families who dine because it's quintessentially more geared toward date-nighters or the occasional larger adult-only party and because the staff demographic doesn't scream "I have dined with kids!" Only recently have they started giving plastic utensils and cups to 3 year olds that would otherwise break lots of glass. Also it's clear others have had negative hostess experiences here... I stand by my original review and wish the owner would do more than just wishing patrons well if they got up and left (in fact he never offered any kind of comp and only backs up his hostess saying in the past we didn't sit at the "table" we reserved). Sadly, I don't see this place being around for a very long time despite the food being overall fine enough. You could certainly get more authentic and elevated Italian-Italian food in Duarte if you look around a bit..

I was celebrating my birthday with two of my favorite people and every bite of food was excellent. We ordered the lasagna, genovese, and a vegetarian butter and sage pasta. Being a huge meat lover, I did not expect the vegetarian dish to TASTE SO GOOD! But that was a banger! All the cocktail drinks we ordered too was dangerously delicious. You can barely taste the alcohol. We got to chat with the chef and learn more about his story and you can tell he cooked every dish with love. Our server Claude was incredible too and answered all our questions about dishes he recommended. I can't wait to come back!

To start- the service is top tier with their servers and hosts not only being incredibly helpful and informative- but genuinely friendly and nice. The wine and food menu are top tier, with a handful of specials that were definitely worth recommending. Our favorites (although everything was great) were the focaccia board - the honey/pear combo, prosciutto, and the homemade focaccia were so great! For entrees- the squid ink pasta with scallops and truffle pasta with sausage were our favorites. I also thoroughly enjoyed the Lobster Linguine! We can't wait to come back and enjoy more of their food- next up to try is their pizza. Also, I think they book up fast so definitely call ahead for a table! We were lucky our two visits that we were able to get something due to change in schedules. Thank you Grano Italian for the grand experience. We will be back for more!

However, after the pandemic this space is now used for private events. I do believe that you can purchase a bottle of wine or liquor and enjoy it at the bar. I came here for a special champagne tasting featuring Cristal & Louis Roederer. I was impressed with the bar area. It's spacious with an outdoor patio, and there is a huge wine cellar. The staff were all fantastic and made me feel welcomed and told me to save the date for their Holiday Party. Louis Roederer is one of the leading champagne houses, so I was excited for this tasting. Champagne specialist Naureen Lyon described each vintage. The selections were: Roederer Estate Clark Road Single Vineyard 2020, Louis Roederer Blanc de Blanc 2014, Louis Roederer Collection 242, Louis Roederer Brut Nature Rosé 2015, & Cristal 2015. Each one was exquisite, and I enjoyed them all! Attendees also received a discount on bottles purchased. *Ample parking in the lot.

Stephanie and Lydia, co-owners, were manning the front and kitchen areas of this intimate wine and tapas bar. They're both excellent hosts, very friendly, and love to discuss their love of food and wine. It's not a huge place, with intimate indoor and sidewalk seating areas. On street parking is limited, but there are two parking lots behind the building, off the alley to the east. One lot is covered and has a handicap spot; the other lot is open. WINE: The current wine menu (see my picture) has a good selection of Latin inspired wines from Latino winemakers in Mexico, South America (Chile and Argentina), and the US. The wine list changes and as they continue to grow, they'll be adding more selections and countries/regions. Wines are sold by the glass and bottle. If you ask, they'll pour you a taste before you order to see if you're going to like that wine or not. My "Open Bottle Red Tasting Flight" was just $15 for three generous pours of Pinot Noir, Carménère, and Malbec. Glasses range from $11 - $15...very reasonable. FOOD: They offer "Bites, Boards & Platos Fuertes", which are tapas style and shareable plates that pair with your wine selection. We shared a couple of orders of the Empanadas ($15 for 3), which were baked perfectly. We tried the Beef, Chorizo & Queso, and Queso & Membrillo (Spanish cheese with quince paste...great as dessert). We also tried the Brie con Miel ($14) and the Puerto Rican Picadillo ($16) served with rice. Everything has great flavors and is quite delicious! Overall, this is a vibrant, fun little wine bar with great service, food, and vino. We're glad that they're here in the neighborhood and I can't recommend them highly enough.

The food pairs perfectly with the wine, and everything is genuinely mind-blowing to the tastebuds. The decor is meticulously and intentionally placed and makes the place feel so cozy. I know nothing about wine, but if you're a wine snob, I'm sure you'll find great joy in choosing the right wine for you. The highlight of the experience was the staff working there. On top of that, even though we've only been there a handful of times over the course of a year, they remembered us and even where we were visiting from. Thank you Emily and Alfredo!

Waiter Manuel. This…read moreis a review reflected on you, solely. Being kind is the moral of the story, from the beginning you were passive agressive with your comments and tone. Being in a party of 4 girls coming from high tea, we were dressed in elegant dresses, first comment was asking if we were coming from church, followed by eye flutters, short "okay" with an upward inflation to a joke about the day, an impatient comment about hurrying up and trying the wine while we were talking, asked for water when we were out, were left to pour the rest of our wine, didn't ask how the food was all the while was attentive to the table behind us, the cherry on top comment was when we were discussing the bill at the end, he was hovering at the table behind ours, then when we were ready, we asked to split the bill into 2, my portion on mine and the rest on another card, he then said "this isn't like a drive through, we can't do it that way" so I asked him to explain his comment, cause it was passive agressive and rude. After he wasnt able to becuase he wasnt expecting me to call out his rude comment, I had to then break it down and specify what I had ordered, he then sold "okayyyy....so how much, cause we don't itemize?" I had to again express for him to specify how they do it cause he has still yet to explain where his attitude is coming from and explain how they do their check splits, from my understanding it just felt like he wanted to play dumb and make me to the math, one I did he was like "ohh, okay" should have asked for the manager but we paid and left, I hasnt had this experience before being a returning customer, but he needs an attitude adjustment as his attitude was completely out of pocket. Do better Manuel, you alone got your place of work a 1 star. The rest of the staff was kind, facility beautiful and food and wine was good. This restaurant is not reflected in the 1 star.
