I had never been here before. It was something that my husband found on Yelp. It seems like it had a number of good reviews and it was close to where we were. It was kinda funny. The waitress said something about it being nice to see my kiddo again. Hmmmm. They'd never been there before either. That made me a lil uneasy. We didn't order a whole lot of food. We ordered a fish fillet with black bean sauce. I believe we also ordered a tofu appetizer. That was pretty tasty. We ordered green beans and noodles. I can't quite remember what else. Everything was very good. Service was wonderful. The general tso chicken is very popular here. We did not order that, but we heard a lot of people around us ordered that dish. We really enjoyed everything that we had. My kiddo ordered a mango smoothie. They really loved that. The restaurant and various simple and its decor. They don't have a whole lot of tables. You can tell that this is definitely a vocal space. It was nice to see that the servers knew a lot of their customers. Parking was easy. We parked just in front of the restaurant along the street. We were right next to the dance studio. It was kind of cool to walk by the window and see 'em in there. Question size plus pretty good and the presidents were about the same as everywhere so for a meal to feed Pan and one child, it was about $70. read more

I was hangry and a bit under the weather so I wanted delivery classic General Tso and a few other things. While they do have General Tsao on the menu it's listed as spicy so I may try it next time. I had the beef broccoli which was good. The fried dumplings are always a go to and they did not disappoint and were still a bit crispy when it was delivered. That savory taste 10/10. The spring rolls were good but wish they had big egg rolls on the menu. I definitely wanted cream cheese wontons. I was a bit disappointed by the almost non existent amount of cream cheese but they were still good. They gave the normal sweet and sour sauce but my disappointment about the cream cheese was quelled when I tried the Dijon like horseradish sauce that also came with. The sweet and savory 10/10. I'll definitely ask for that any time I have wontons. I can't speak to the ambiance since I ordered delivery but the food came quick and satisfied my cravings. Walking into Century Dragon I was sure I was about to have some great food. The decor and ambience of the restaurant is wonderful. Our waiter was also very attentive, poliete, and knowledgable. However the food ended up leaving a lot of be desired. The Egg drop soup tasted a bit off. I'm not even sure how to describe it besides eh, maybe a tad slimy? I'm just not certain but I didn't have a desire to finish it. My beef and broccoli was similarly underwhelming. No flavors really stood out in the meal. The egg roll might have been the best thing I had to eat. The Beef was just eh and the Broccoli was similarly lackluster. I had hoped this might be a new place to frequent but after my experience I will be passing on Century Dragon going forward. read more

Century Dragon in Burbank is one of my longtime favorite spots in LA--I've been coming here for about 10 years, and I'll still happily drive out from the South Bay just for their Orange Tofu. It's always perfectly crispy and easily one of the best versions I've had anywhere. This visit, we also ordered the Sautéed Green Beans, Fish Fillet with Black Bean Sauce, and the Salt & Pepper Pork Chops with garlic and jalapeños--everything was so flavorful and comforting. Street parking available. The restaurant is small but has plenty of seating. The menu has all the expected dishes.' For a Chinese restaurant, they have a lunch special everyday except holidays. Serving size of portions were very filling and a great value. Ordered a bbq pork appetizer which was a good size shared dish. Soup was hot and savory. Lunch special came with soup, rice, spring roll and an array of entrees to choose from. I tried the shrimp in lobster sauce and the overall flavor was good, mixed the rice in to sauce. Husband ordered the orange chicken spicy it had flavorful but didn't get the waterworks running. The staff was friendly, and gave good recommendations. Man, a staple of Burbank. No matter how many times I come up here, have to go to this little bit of goodness every time! Smacks you with the deliciousness of the Asian cuisine. We stopped in here for dinner on a weekend after walking around and considering a few nearby places. We were able to get seated right away. Loved the moo shu pork! It was a huge portion and I couldn't eat all that without help! The 4 of us stopped here after looking for thrift stores around the nearby area. It's a cute little dining room area, diagonally across the street from Porto's Bakery. Clean and modern, it's exactly the right size for a neighborhood restaurant. The food was just "okay". 3 stars for lunch special I hoped they had a Szechuan vegetarian dish for their lunch special, but like most "lunches specials", the offerings are probably large portion cooked, so it's an extra $6 charge to switch chicken to tofu. It was meh, not worth the fee. *No Szechuan pepper flavor at all. *Mostly onion and sugar. *Tasty, but just 'ok' *Does anyone like spring rolls (in general)? *Vegetables fresh and excellently cooked *Good rice *nice slabs of tofu I will return to try some REGULAR dinner options. Rule number one. They close at 8 ot 8.30 pm on weekdays. When they want you out, they make time known. No sitting around for you. I say 8 or 8.30 because we started to get the full court press a bit after 8.15. And by a bit after 8.30 the we are closed was made clear. At 8 30 pm. Overall the food was good except for two dishes. Salt and Pepper Tofu. Loser. Yes spicy but that was due to the chilis seeds than anything else. Tofu was flash fried and tasted fine, but yah, no. Wonton soup. A friend had it and found it so so. Not good. The rest Tofu with vegetables under the healthy section. Another friend had it and liked it. I did see it had baby corn and green veggies. Moo-shu chicken. I didn't like that they pre-filled and wrapped them. Especially since you add the hosin sauce which wasn't filled when they handed it to us. So you are scraping here. I like to fill my own please, so that's a minus. Plus why not offer Moo-shu Tofu? Baffling. Okay, let's put this in the miss category, because it wasn't even that good. Yeah, a huge no. The Art of the Dragon. Best dish of the night. It comes with Shrimp, and tiny they were, chicken squares, meaty and good..white meat, a dark and rich brown spicy sauce, it will clear up the sinuses. The dish had a lot of pea pods, and mushrooms, plus two small julienne cut carrots. Rice is extra. I ordered the egg fried rice and the portion was big. You will need it for the Art of Dragon, which is a house special. If they offered this with a shrimp and Tofu, I would have really preferred that. I will say they are limited with Tofu dishes. No black bean sauce with Tofu, no garlic eggplant with Tofu either. Our friend Tofu is often left alone in the food playground of Century. The service and ambiance were pretty friendly and our server seemed to know the usual customers who were likely the neighbors. Always nice to see a local business still working in the community. The food itself is fine. We ordered several plates (family style) and all were good. Nothing special --but they all 'Hit the spot' if you have a craving! Overall, it's probably the ONLY Chinese food restaurant I would recommend ordering from in Burbank right now. I've been to a few others and they aren't so nice or organized. The Chicken Fried Rice was delicious as usual. What was very unusual was the small foreign debri of some sort in my order. It was a semi-hard or semi-soft small (2-3mm) rock type of material of some sort. I usually eat in, but sometimes take out. Glad I didn't eat in b/c I would have had to run outside and spit out all mouth contents. I'd then have to go back inside, take a big sip of water, rush back out side again to gargle, then spit it all the crushed [whatever it was] material out. Yuk! It was that bad.
