Seasons Noodle has been on my "to try" list for a while. I got take out recently and the hype is…read morereal! I haven't been to the physical location but I've ordered Doordash twice (and it came very quickly). Both times I got the Garlic Soy Sauce Tofu Noodle with hand cut flat noodles. The portions were good sized, full of noodles, tofu, broccoli, and bok choy. It comes in a light garlic sauce and I ate most of the broccoli despite not usually being a huge fan of it. My husband got a dish with tomatoes and liked it though he was complaining there aren't appetizers on the menu. Understandable as it's a one person operation. I'd like to try the other noodle option for this dish (regular thin noodles) but the hand cut is so good I will probably keep getting it! On the website I see you can create your own dish with noodle, protein and veggie choice - this is also going on my to do list.

Friendly service, generous portions, but the flavors missed the mark…read more I stopped in at The Mercantile on Main while heading from Rochester to Ithaca, looking for a quick lunch before the journey. I initially had pizza in mind, but as someone who's traveled extensively and spent more hours than I can count exploring Chinatowns in LA, San Francisco, and NYC, I was excited to see Seasons' Noodle and decided to give it a try. The staff could not have been nicer--warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about their work. I truly admire independent chefs and restaurateurs like Yan, and always try to support businesses like this. I ordered the Spicy Shrimp Noodle, and while the portion was generous and the presentation solid, I left feeling a bit disappointed. The noodles themselves were nicely done, with a satisfying chew, but the dish as a whole didn't quite come together. The sauce was thin and watery, which left everything feeling separate instead of integrated. The shrimp lacked seasoning and didn't absorb or hold onto any of the sauce, which made the dish feel unbalanced--more like a bowl of ingredients than a cohesive noodle experience. Given the restaurant's inspiration from Northern China--where noodles are often hearty, robust, and well-sauced--I was hoping for something a bit more bold and unified in flavor. In Northern Chinese cuisine, the noodles and sauce should almost cling to one another, often enhanced with garlic, chili oil, or vinegar to bring depth and warmth. Here, it just felt like that final spark was missing. The Mercantile on Main itself is a cool and thoughtfully restored space with a lot of character--it's housed in the historic Sibley Building, once the largest department store between New York City and Chicago. It's now a food hall and gathering space that blends the city's history with a modern vibe. That said, on the day I visited, they were setting up for an event, which made the atmosphere a bit chaotic and distracting--probably just a case of bad timing. I don't live in Rochester, but if I did, I'd give Seasons' another try. Everyone has an off day, and maybe I just didn't order the right thing. I'm still rooting for Seasons' Noodle--because the heart and hospitality are definitely there.

The place had a nice ambiance with a sculpture and indoor pond as soon as you walk in the door. They were also playing nice, soft music you can enjoy your meal to. They have a very large selection of food on their buffet, ranging from some of your traditional American Chinese choices such as fried rice, lo mein noodles, chicken and broccoli, etc. They also offer a host of your more traditional American foods such as pizza, Mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes and gravy. They also offer a nice selection of different sushi rolls. All of the food seems nice and fresh, with steam coming off most of the food. I thought the taste of the food was pretty good. Everything tasted fresh and had good flavors to it. I personally didn't have any, but my wife said the Mac and cheese was not very good, tasting like "noodles soaked in milk". The sushi had good flavors to it, and the rice seemed fresh (not hard like some sushi rolls that sit out for a while at a buffet). The staff were very attentive, grabbing our used plates at our table, and bringing us refills on the drinks. It also seemed like there was always a member of staff going around the buffet making sure all of the food was staying fresh, and refilling the food that was getting low. We overall had a great experience and definitely will be back in the future!
