    Burgundy escargot

We stumbled on this place off the street and it was a bustling hot spot outside so we gave them a go. Sitting inside was no issue and no wait so we opted for that. We started with a couple of their driest red wines which we enjoyed very much, coupled with a half dozen escargot, which puts you back about 17€ since they are Burgundy snails, and apparently renowned across France for their quality and taste. The chicken and pork entrees were very well done and both really juicy dishes. I got a sautéed rice and vegetable side (reminded me of fried rice with peas, snow peas and carrots) and frites (side of fries) for my bf. Both dishes we'd highly recommend and gladly reorder, but def not cheap dishes. We ended dinner with a deliciously decadent hazelnut dessert called Gianduja and were happy we did. Luscious chocolate and that distinct hazelnut flavor with a mix of ice cream and crunchies all married together in a perfect desert. Service was pretty good but one thing we didn't appreciate was when we were asked if we wanted sparkling or still water, and replied "still" one of the guys in a puff vest popped open a not-so-inexpensive bottle of still water instead of giving us regular tap, while all the other diners (seemingly local) had regular tap water. Not sure if it's because we're tourists or if it's a custom here, but we learned our lesson to specify next time. But aside from that, everything else was fine.

Great service, ambiance and food. Great wine selection, there is an outside area where you can enjoy a good cigar as well.

The view at this restaurant was amazing. We could see the Eiffel Tower from our table. At night, the twinkling lights were a nice touch. The food was delicious. The wait staff were very friendly and engaging. I had a salad that was good to the last bite. I also tried the fish which was cooked perfectly.

Do not go here if you don't speak French. Some foods in the English menu is more expensive than the French menu. The waiter pretended to not understand "tap water" and tried to sell us "mineral water" twice. Foods are ok, nothing great. We ordered: - escargots - rib eye steak - burger The steak and burger came with fries

I had a lovely meal at Mon Paris my last night in Paris before the play at the Théâtre Édouard VII just down the pedestrian street. Motorbikes were allowed here but no autos. The restaurant is quite large with a large amount of outdoor seating. I took a seat outside and I was soon brought the menu and a bottle of tap water which was what I requested. The server took my order, veal sweetbreads. I was soon brought a basket of bread that was always good in Paris and within a short time my meal arrived along with a small metal pan of mashed potatoes. The sweetbreads were in a rich cream sauce with mushrooms and cheese and it was very good. For dessert I got a mille feuille and a espresso with a small cookie. I took my time with the espresso but not so much as to let it cool too much. I just wanted to keep soaking up this lovely place and the people watching was grand. Service was excellent. This would be a do again if I ever make it back to Paris.

Such an authentic and perfect French meal. Everything we ordered was top tier and is a place we would have gone to twice in the week we were there!

Located on a small courtyard street just off the main road, this place can be difficult to find at first. It's on the road between Zara and GapKids...hopefully that helps you find it faster than we did! The food was good, we never have great luck in Paris for dinner since I am allergic to dairy/seafood but this place is friendly and had a few options for me. The food was certainly good enough that we came back a few times over a couple weeks. It isn't the greatest ever but it's a solid meal with a nice atmosphere and good service in the Opera area if you need it. There's always someone that speaks English if you need also.

Best place to hang out with friend especially in summer time. Full of Parisian spirit, street view, in front of theater, ...... here you see people taking a coffee or enjoy happy hour or spending time on good food! Price is reasonable, food and desert are delicious, complete wine list........

Loved it! Came here for a late lunch with my sister, we were both hungry and tired from walking. It's a very pleasant restaurant with good service, our waitress was very friendly and food came very quickly. We had a seafood salad (salade vitalite) and fillets de Cabillaud, both are delicious and tasty, especially the seafood salad. Would come back here again.

Nestled in the Edward 'Bertie' VII (Rue Edouard VII) next to the so-named theatre, this chic brasserie exudes a very cool 'Parisien' attitude with its modern contemporary music, despite its turn of century backdrop. The street is within a stones' throw of the Opera Garnier. Starting with escargot burgundy, it was followed by tuna carpaccio and veal sweetbreads, with desert platter and mango mille feuille. The food tickled most of my senses although I felt the sweetbreads tasted a little salty. (Is this part of the recipe?) What lifted this brasserie from 4 to 5 stars are the desserts, especially the Mille feuille. Decadent!

Loved this place. I read about it on a blog by David Lebowitz, an American chef living in Paris. He's a super thin guy, but clearly knows how to eat! I ate a risotto with shrimp and chorizo...and I may not have read the menu correctly but I got a black rice risotto so it didn't look like I expected, but so full of flavor. I loved it. In addition, the dessert was a beauty, imagine a chocolate ball full of chocolate ice cream and warm chocolate sauce gets poured on top. Wow, chocolate overload but perfect. The restaurant is a very trendy place and wait staff is super friendly. I will go back on another visit to Paris.

The restaurant is between Zara and the Gap down the ally. It is towards the back. We showed up for dinner without a reservation. We only waited 15 minutes. Our server spoke English and was very nice. Service was not dreadfully slow it was decent. Our menu was also in English. We appreciated that. The food was delicious however this place is not two $$ it's more like $$$. We had a bottle of wine two main courses and side dish of fries. No appetizers no dessert no coffee- our bill was $130 euro. Although it was very good food I don't know if prices are cheaper for locals and they charge a higher price for tourist. Regardless if you are looking for quality Parisian food with nice service you will not be disappointed. I had the mushroom risotto with truffles and my husband had the steak with mash potatoes. Also it seems the majority of the people here were locals not tourist. Delicious food !

Fair quality food. I would inky go if it is the only place open. The grilled ham snd gruyere was greasy. The house red wine was good.

What a great find!…read more This bar doesn't look like much from the outisde but once you walk in, its super cool and full of character. The bar staff was extremely friendly and educated us on the history of the bar. Both bartenders spoke english and were from United States. It was explained to us that Lulu White was a brothel madam, that was concidered to have more power than the mayor of New Orleans during the late 1800s. Her brothel contained a "Blue Book" that allowed patrons to chose their companion via photos. The Lulu White bar, took this concept and allows you to chose your drink according to the individuals photographed in the "Blue book". We were told the individuals listed in the book change about every 6 months but the Lulu White drinks remains constant. I tried the Lulu White: Altos Anejo Tequila, Plymouth Gin, Genepi, Absentroux, and Cardamon noir. It came in a elegant beautiful glass and It tasted like a dry martini with a licorice flavor from the absinthe. This was definitley a drink you sip on to enjoy. The décor of the bar, resembled historical New Orleans with its dim lighting and elegant décor and half moon booth seating. This was a great surprise, and I recomment anyone to stop by and check it out!

I had the Beatrix which was a little too bitter for my taste, so switched out to the Pale Ale which was tasty. The live music was fantastic! Not sure if the ensemble is there every weekend, but they made a great trio. I'd visit when/if in Pigalle again.

Really love this cocktail bar (p.s. there is really no wine, coffee, tea, etc)…read more Wonderful red velvet armchairs, groovy 1960s rock 'n roll music in the background and a New York style cocktail bar from the 30s....what more do you want!!! If you're in the area, do check this place out...it's also very central to so many other places in Paris, so it's a great place to start or finish at...I wouldn't make it THE place to go. Perfect taste in music: Check. Best - and I really mean BEST cocktails this side of Manhattan: Check. We stumbled into Dr. Lupin looking for a quick night cap and eneded up spending the best part of 4 hours there. So: we walk in. The bloke behind the bar exclaims before we even sat down: "I have no idea how to make a cocktail! I'm just guarding the fort! I can pour a beer if thats what you want". "Sure". I notice something about Jack Daniels in the bar and casually mention a Lemmy... "Don't move! The real bar tender is a Motörhead fan!". Peter (I think that's his name, but I was hammered, so could well be Rudolph for all I remember), walks in and takes his place behind the bar. We start exchanging stories of how we met Lemmy back when he was immortal... Aaaaaand... it was all uphill from there on. We slap some Motörhead on the sound system, cranck it up to 11... and the rest is history. I did mention the best cocktails this side of Manhattan. Let me explain: 50ml of Gentleman Jack 20ml of maple syrup 2 dashes of angostura bitters Top off with stout or porter beer. Grate some Tonka bean on top That called a Lemmy Angel and it's MAGIC! You have to try the hot bloody mary too. If only to see the only known use of a flame thrower in the preparation of a cocktail. EPIC! Merci les amis. Ce fût une soirée mémorable!
