Went here in September 2025…read more Such a fun place. Think of the times you've been to a bar where the person making your drink really put their all into it. That's this place. Go see for yourselves. We liked it so much. It was our planned stop in route to Moulin Rouge, and that proved to us that we just had to bring our tribe with us on the way back. That's right. Two stops. One night. Enough said.

Dirty Dick may officially win the award for "most questionable name attached to a genuinely great…read moretiki bar." When we arrived the place was dead quiet -- like "did we accidentally come during a private apocalypse?" quiet. But as the evening went on, more people slowly wandered in and the atmosphere picked up. The drinks were fantastic: huge, strong, colorful, and dangerously fun. Exactly what you want from a tiki bar. The bartenders were incredibly sweet too. They answered all our questions, made recommendations based on what we actually like, and clearly knew their menu well. Always appreciate bartenders who don't just point randomly and say "this one." The decor and vibe were awesome -- dark, tropical, quirky, and full-on escapism. Felt like stepping into a hidden island bar in the middle of Paris. Only thing that threw us a little? The music. At several points it sounded less "tropical tiki escape" and more "waiting 45 minutes for Space Mountain at Disney World." Not bad exactly... just unexpectedly wholesome for drinks strong enough to make you text your high school friends at midnight. Overall though, we absolutely loved it and would 100% go back. Great drinks, great staff, fun atmosphere -- and honestly the weird Disney-adjacent soundtrack somehow became part of the charm.

What a great find!…read more This bar doesn't look like much from the outisde but once you walk in, its super cool and full of character. The bar staff was extremely friendly and educated us on the history of the bar. Both bartenders spoke english and were from United States. It was explained to us that Lulu White was a brothel madam, that was concidered to have more power than the mayor of New Orleans during the late 1800s. Her brothel contained a "Blue Book" that allowed patrons to chose their companion via photos. The Lulu White bar, took this concept and allows you to chose your drink according to the individuals photographed in the "Blue book". We were told the individuals listed in the book change about every 6 months but the Lulu White drinks remains constant. I tried the Lulu White: Altos Anejo Tequila, Plymouth Gin, Genepi, Absentroux, and Cardamon noir. It came in a elegant beautiful glass and It tasted like a dry martini with a licorice flavor from the absinthe. This was definitley a drink you sip on to enjoy. The décor of the bar, resembled historical New Orleans with its dim lighting and elegant décor and half moon booth seating. This was a great surprise, and I recomment anyone to stop by and check it out!

Still a strong mix of anglophones but locals seem to balance out the crowd. Fairly priced cocktails. I had the Beatrix which was a little too bitter for my taste, so switched out to the Pale Ale which was tasty. The live music was fantastic! Not sure if the ensemble is there every weekend, but they made a great trio. I'd visit when/if in Pigalle again.

Really love this cocktail bar (p.s. there is really no wine, coffee, tea, etc)…read more Wonderful red velvet armchairs, groovy 1960s rock 'n roll music in the background and a New York style cocktail bar from the 30s....what more do you want!!! The service is fabulous, poor English, though extremely helpful. It's a very cosy bar. If you're in the area, do check this place out...it's also very central to so many other places in Paris, so it's a great place to start or finish at...I wouldn't make it THE place to go. I had a very fruity vodka based cocktail (see photos) and my wife had a sweet beetroot cocktail (which she was fabulous).

Perfect taste in music: Check. Best - and I really mean BEST cocktails this side of Manhattan: Check. We stumbled into Dr. Lupin looking for a quick night cap and eneded up spending the best part of 4 hours there. So: we walk in. The bloke behind the bar exclaims before we even sat down: "I have no idea how to make a cocktail! I'm just guarding the fort! I can pour a beer if thats what you want". "Sure". I notice something about Jack Daniels in the bar and casually mention a Lemmy... "Don't move! The real bar tender is a Motörhead fan!". Peter (I think that's his name, but I was hammered, so could well be Rudolph for all I remember), walks in and takes his place behind the bar. We start exchanging stories of how we met Lemmy back when he was immortal... Aaaaaand... it was all uphill from there on. We slap some Motörhead on the sound system, cranck it up to 11... and the rest is history. I did mention the best cocktails this side of Manhattan. Let me explain: 50ml of Gentleman Jack 20ml of maple syrup 2 dashes of angostura bitters Top off with stout or porter beer. Grate some Tonka bean on top That called a Lemmy Angel and it's MAGIC! You have to try the hot bloody mary too. If only to see the only known use of a flame thrower in the preparation of a cocktail. EPIC! Merci les amis. Ce fût une soirée mémorable!

There's a fine line between doing something clever and unique and just being dumb; Gocce…read more(professor) crossed that line, in a modified Japanese sedan adorned with aircraft grade metal spoiler, while drifting, with the driver hanging halfway outside the car while subsequently hitting a curb, ejecting the occupants and injuring/maiming several bystanders. [Our server was the driver of this car. Turns out that car was her parents and she's in deep shit - as such her service reflected her mood perfectly.] Myself and 15 others made reservations for Gocce to celebrate a birthday. Upon entering we were seated in the deepest recesses of the back of the bar. The table for 15 made no sense, imagine a U-Shaped booth with 5 (yes 5) round brasserie tables crammed together and some additional chairs wedged directly against them. As people arrived we realized we're not going to get 15 people in here with these five tables. Also despite repeated (3 times) requests, the staff were unwilling to remove even one of the tables to provide us room to move and sit comfortably. From there things got worse. In our cave, we had no real light, instead we had candles on each of our five tables, while this did provide us the necessary "mood" lighting, we determined quickly that it wasn't a mood we wanted exposing, oh and it was Ducking hot! We were told at the outset when we ordered two bottles of beer that they had no additional beers available. During my inspection of the bookshelves while in search of a bathroom, I come back to see the same server giving fresh beers to other customers, when asked what gives, I was ignored. The toilet, that damned toilet - WHERE ARE YOU!?!?! Yes, the toilet is hidden behind a bookshelf that is not marked or labelled. My advice if you have to go urgently, walk outside and pee in front of the restaurant, that will be easier than locating the facilities. After suffering through this scene for nearly 40 minutes, I spoke with the birthday girl and we agreed to find another place. (Located just next door is an establishment called Chez Vous it's number 15 on the same street and was wonderful). Finally, adding insult to injury, we were given the bill. Wine was 11 euros per glass. Those elusive beers? Yes, 11 euros a bottle. And should you want a cocktail, fork over 13 euros.
