I wasted 45 min sitting waiting for a service that the nail technician to tell me they don't do even though it's advertised in their brochure. Not sure if she was trying to get more money but very frustrating to patiently wait then end up leaving without anything. The receptionist asked what I wanted and I told her a color change with a gel top coat. She didn't mention that this was an option. The nail technician told me when it was my turn that I would have to do all gel if I wanted gel. I said the brochure you have says otherwise. She didn't acknowledge that and just repeated that they don't do that. I left since getting all the money she can in a day isn't that important to her. When I need a nice quick pedicure I come here. The wait is never too long. They have a large selection on colors and brands. The techs are friendly and courteous. They don't harass you to up sale which is a plus. I've had on one occasion where another tech told my tech she needed to ask me again to try and up sale my service. They didn't realize that I could understand them speaking in another language. My tech thankfully respected my wishes enough not to try and ask again. I appreciated that. Nevertheless she did a great job. Prices are pretty reasonable here considering this is a mall location. There is ample parking and it makes it very easy because they are located right next to an entrance way. I so not have a particular tech that I go to. So on each visit I've seen a different one. They've all done a very good job. If you are in the area and need a pedicure I would give thus place a try. They even include a scrub and the paraffin wax in a basic pedicure. How awesome is that? Tip is in cash though so remember to have some on hand. There us an atm in the mall right in front of the Macy's entrance in case you forget to bring cash with you. read more

THey were super busy when I came in with a bridal group on a saturday evening, but we were taken care of super fast. The ladies were super nice and the pedicure was stellar. I asked for a basic french polish and it looked fabulous when we left. Unfortunately within 24 hours the plain polish was crackling and fogging up like crazy. It wasn't noticeable at the wedding, but 36 hours later my polish was flaking off in chunks. I've had many many manicures, and I've NEVER had this happen so fast. Even when I do my own nails (just polish) this never happens. If it wasn't so out of my way I would go back and get them to fix it. I'd be willing to go back for a gel and pedi, but with trepidation. read more

I am extremely disappointed and unsatisfied with the way this situation was handled today. Yesterday I walk in a few minutes after the they opened for a acrylic removal and full set and only one technician was available and she was already busy. If you're going to be open at least have more than one person available . After about 15 minutes of waiting , a woman approaches me and tells me she is going to remove my acrylics while the other lady came . When I sit down I tell her about one of my nails that hurts Bc it's lifting off the nail bed , so I asked if she could drill that one off for me instead of just ripping them off like they do with the others and she just said okay. When she gets to the nail she is not careful with it at all.. she tried to clip it off and then rip it off with another acrylic tip. This was the most painful thing ever, I was honestly on the verge of tears . Then when she saw my face and heard me basically screaming in pain she put glue on it and let is soak in acetone. The rest of the nail Service was great, Diane is always amazing but you can't just forget the way you were treated even if the end result is good . So after everything I go pay and I ask to speak to the manager I explain to her that she was not careful with my nail and that I asked her to drill it, instead of paying attention to what I was saying she said wait wait let me ask you something . Your nail bed was lifting off the nail plate omg . I inform her that the point is that she was not careful and that if I wanted to be in pain I would've just ripped my own nails off at home , if I come to a salon to professionals I expect better treatment and I expect them to follow my requests . When the nail tech who did my removal heard she comes up to the desk IN THE MIDDLE OF BEING WITH ANOTHER GUEST, starts arguing with me and calling me a liar , that I never asked her to drill my nail or told her it hurt ... She said she took 30 minutes to get my nails off and that I made her late for her next guest.. who arrived after she was done with my removal . I was shocked what type of costumer service training did they get that allows them to think it's okay to argue with a guest like that when I was not being rude or insulting anyone I was just explaining my experience. The manager keeps telling me oh but you like your nails right so I don't know what you want me to do it's over now. She was not understanding me at all , the front desk girl who was the only helpful person explained to her that I was asking what she would do as a manager in this situation . She grabs my card, slams it on the counter and says 5$ off and that's it in a loud and rude tone. I pay and leave , in no instance was I offered and apology nor did I feel like they empathized with me or tried to make the situation better for me . My friend and I came here over the weekend for a Mani (shellac)/pedi, and I can honestly say I won't be back. For starters, the pedicure lasted 15 minutes at the most. There was no massage or foot scrub. I didn't feel pampered at all. Then we were rushed to our manicure chairs where they separated us after we requested to sit next to each other and talk. When we mentioned we wanted to be seated together, the women scoffed and reluctantly said we could. But then they left our stuff at the seats they wanted us to sit in and told us to sit down- it was awkward and uncomfortable. Then during our manicures,I mentioned to the lady that there was fuzz on my nail and she assured me she would remove it after she was done. Well at the end of the shellac manicure, I could see all of the fuzz but it was gelled into the nail polish! Also by the end of our manicures they said that our toes were dry even though we didn't think they would be after our 20 minute shellac manicure. They were pushing us out of the seats to make room for new people when we had barely paid and didn't want to put our shoes on just yet. We ended up leaving feeling uncomfortable and less relaxed than when we came in. After walking the mall for 5-10 minutes, I checked my toes and they were completely messed up. This place used to be a favorite. I came here with my mom and two sisters hoping to get more taken care of. This place has changed so much in past two years. The lady was rushing us and ESPECIALLY me. My pedicure took less than 15mins and my acrylic nails took less than an hour. My pinky and ring finger nails are crooked and she left at least 5 hairs in my thumb and pinky. She told me it'll go away. It didn't. It's chunky and they don't match at all. I'm very disappointed. She was laughing with everyone the whole time and on her phone as well. She didn't pay attention at all to what she was doing. I honestly wish I got her name. I know she'll see this and I hope she is disappointed in the work she did on me. She honesty shouldn't work there if she's not going to pay attention to her clients and watch the clock every 5mins to see when she can be done and leave. I do not recommend this place and I hope no one goes here. I STRONGLY suggest not going here unless the good people everyone else talks about are working. I wish I could rate lower than a 1 Star. It was a terrible experience. I've been coming to this place for like a 6 month, I was not really satisfied with job they did but I used to live across the street so it was a good spot to do my nails. After I took off acrylic nails my fried was doing manicure for me, but one time I decided to go to mon cheri salon. The nail technician put gel removal on my nails and was waiting for 10 mins, but not everything come off and she start to scratch my nails. I asked to do a French manicure and she put a white tip before she put a pink base underneath, I was confused why they're doing this completely different, anyways I asked to take everything off because it was ugly but they were trying to convince me to put any other color on a top but I wasn't agree and they took off gel and buff my nails. Right now my nail are messed up and I have to wait couple month for them to be cured. read more

Meh. Came in to try this place out at the mall with the intention of a regular nail salon to go to. Wish I had read the reviews first! Went to get a regular mani pedi. Stood at the front for about 2 minutes until someone greeted me (receptionist was busy on her phone). They tried to upsell me to get gel (I was a little annoyed but of course they are going to try to upsell you). I started with the pedi which was okay, but he seemed to be in a rush even though it wasn't busy. I think the whole time I was there maybe two customers came in. During my mani, he managed to cut my cuticles on 4 different fingers and seemed to be in a rush as well. Then another technician walked over to his station and started talking to him during my mani (very rude)! Overall, not impressed and won't be back for a mani, maybe just the pedi. read more

Wouldn't recommend. Had a fill done on Friday by Vu and by Sunday they were already peeling off. Then I went back Sunday to have a nail fixed because the color had completely peeled off only to find a few hours later others peeled off as well. It's probably a sign if they're rushing and moving quicker than needed. Seems nice when they're working fast also think about the quality of service. Within 48hrs I've gotten a new fill at a different establishment because all the color has peeled off my nails. read more

Apologies for the long review, BUT YOU SHOULD REALLY READ THIS. It's an honest and accurate review I just got my nails done yesterday, and I had a not so savory experience there. I called about 20 minutes before leaving to check and see if they could get me in. The receptionist told me to hurry and come now or I may not get a spot since they are busy today. I promptly left and when I arrived, there were 4 customers in the salon. Thought it was a little weird that she told me to rush but I at least got a spot. I noticed other people talking about the receptionist, but besides the phone exchange she was polite and I didn't have any issues with her service. I got Nancy and asked for acrylics with gel polish. The entire time she did my nails she was speaking to the technician next to her in Vietnamese, and only paused 3 times to ask me if my nails were the right length. She didn't try and make conversation or anything else, which seems normal but all the other salons I've been to have had very sweet and talkative technicians who try and make it not awkward for their customers. I didn't like the whole weirdness of that. The tools are actually not bad, I didn't see anything that stood out about the cleanliness of the place, except I had a few problems with the other technicians. One woman was walking around eating something the whole 45 minutes I was there, and she did not have a customer. She just walked around and would occasionally drop her chips on the ground and leave it there. 2 other workers were talking very loud on their personal phones nearby and didn't seem to be worried about if other people could hear their conversations. I read another review earlier where someone said they were glued to their phones, and this is very true. I think it's a little strange they didn't at least go into a backroom or have a no-phone policy during their working hours. When Nancy finished with my nails, I noticed that 5/10 of them were noticeably crooked on my fingers. I was worried about them falling off early since the acrylic tips looked cheap and easy to break, so I pointed them out to her and asked if she could do so little as to file them down so they weren't so crooked. She told me they looked fine to her and they didn't look crooked. I am sitting at home right now and let me say that they are VERY crooked. It looks like I did them myself, not that I paid to have them professionally done. They finally gave me the bill - $45!!!! SO overpriced for the cheap stuff they used and the customer service I received. Additionally, the website said they were only $30!! I started putting my wallet back in my purse after paying, but my technician held out her hand to me and demanded a $5 tip!!! I told her that I was not planning on tipping her and that I did not have to tip her at all, but she pointed to a sign that said "Cash tip only please" and told me I had to tip her $5. At that point, I was exhausted and just wanted to get out of there so I handed her the tip and got out of there. When I was driving home, I noticed that the cuticle and the skin just below one of my nails was swollen, red, and painful. I'm worried it's infected or she cut the cuticle and got the acrylic paint inside of it. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE. There are plenty of other better places nearby, and I regret testing Mon Cheri out. DO NOT COME HERE, customer service is awful and the nails are ridiculously overpriced and there are many hidden fees. I gave an extra star for the color and the fact that she didn't catch my skin or anything on the filing tool. read more

Told the technician my feet were sensitive from previous ingrown nail surgery from years ago and she proceeded to try to PULL A HANGNAIL OUT and asked if that hurt. Yes, it hurts! I believe that being cut then saying its your fault for having thin skin and having your personal belonging investigated and tampered with would be offending to everyone not just myself . and I do not think I have to ask before hand or have to make a special request not to be injured or not to touch and adjust my items as if it is their own. When scrubbing the bottom of my feet she only did my left foot and not my right. She was to busy with her conversation with other co-workers. Feel like i need to update my review. I was doing acrylic nails for past 10 years, and believe me i know how long it takes to do full set or just repair two nail. But i also can see when person is rushing and don't seem to be much interested and detailed when working with me. Only the fact that one technician started doing my nails, and then another person changed her without explanation make me feel definitely not like a valuable client. Btw, the lady who started doing my nails was just hanging around, and she even came back to see how the new person doing my nails. On 01/02/18 the front desk receptionist greeted my mom, cousin & I, she was nice. My mom ended up getting the deluxe spa pedicure & my cousin & I got full set's so we each picked out our colors & sat down to our assigned spots. The service was overall ok besides the fact that my cousin & I went to go check on my mom after drying our nails & the lady servicing my mom along with another employee was asking all of us questions & after an answer, they started talking & laughing to each other in their own language & continue with questions. But the main problem/issue is that its only been 2 days & this morning on my way to work, I see that half the nail on my index finger has broke off. Never did I ever experience this. I'm sorry but I don't have the time to take a trip back out there to only get a nail fixed. My mom and I came here and upon check-in, the woman was very rude and my mom was telling her what we were getting and she cut off my mom and said "okay can you sign in?" We took a seat and I was called about 15 mins later by Nancy. Nancy did not even say hi or ask how I was doing. I personally do not like making small talk with the nail tech but I appreciate when they do try. 10 mins into the manicure, the same woman at check-in came to Nancy's station and asked if she was almost finished and Nancy said yes. My service was rushed and Nancy did a very sloppy job on my manicure. When I was drying my nails, I noticed that it looked messed up, I told the check-in woman and she signed loudly and said "okay I'll tell Nancy." I sat back down and I heard her say to Nancy, "she messed up her nail." I did not mess up my nail.. my nail service was messed up because of the nail tech. Would not recommend!! It looks like a child did my nails. They slopped the gel nail polish on our nails. This made them look sloppy and bumpy. They also left clear gel polish all over my skin. When they put the parafin wax on, it felt really nice but they left the wax on our rings. When it came to ring us up, they added a $3 charge to remove previous gel nail polish. When comfronted about this charge I told them they didn't list it on the pamphlet. They simply do not do a quality job. They missed painting the edges of my nails, did NOT buff and file my nails evenly, and complained to their co workers when the I (and other clients) were specific or particular about what they want. Once, they charged $15 to take off my SNS nails (no refill) but did not file, buff, or even apply clear coat to my bare nails. Overall, they just couldn't provide good service. This is the absolute worst place you can go for quality service. Once I got my nails done here for my junior prom, the owner and all associates laughed at me when I didn't like how the nail polish was sloppily applied to my toe nails. The polish was on my skin somewhat as well. The owner encouraged another customer to confirm that it looked good but that customer was unable to see. The owner realized I'd paid and refused to give the money back. Never returned to this place. It really is a hit or miss. The owner is usually very mean to the ladies that work for her. She constantly berates them in front of customers which is highly unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend this place. I usually do not do reviews but I just left my second time with Hana. The first time she messed my nails up not slowing down to listen when I said they were gel not powder nails. She ended up having to cut them off. She was in such a hurry she dug into to my nail and broke through it with the cuticle clippers int o skin making me bleed. This is very painful. My nail was in so much pain for a week I hated to wash my hands of face. I went back today to have her fix her mistake and had to fight for a free service which was promised to me. Although they were very accommodating in fixing the original problem, it still stands that the gel manicure I received started lifting and cracking--yes, cracking--1WEEK after it was done. I got a gel manicure done at a different salon in DC and it lasted 4 WEEKS!! The only reason I had to get it redone is because my nails grew--not because of lifting or peeling or cracking. The gel manicures at Mon Cherie are severely lacking in quality and I will NOT be going back here, convenient location or not. read more
