BEWARE!!! I would give them zero stars but I have to choose 1 to be able to post this review. DON'T SEND YOUR BOX through them if you DON'T want it to take more than 2 months. Me and and my husband have sent a total of 4 boxes. 2 boxes were sent Dec 14, 2020 then 2 other boxes Dec 28, 2020. It's NOW MARCH 2, 2021!!! Our boxes haven't arrived yet. This is crazy. Our family back home are in need of those boxes. 2 of those boxes are supposed to help out a pregnant relative, now have given birth and her box still haven't arrived. We have contacted them through phone and in person they will just give you run around about how it's in customs in the Philippines or there's a delay. WTF?! NEVER AGAIN MON CARGO. I have been using Mon Cargo Services to ship door to door balikbayan boxes to my families in the Philippines for many years.. I am very pleased with their service from beginning to end. They would come pick up my box at my home so I never have to worry about delivering them and not to mention the risk of injury you're taking when lifting your heavy boxes (as we all load up our boxes) and load them in your car to drop them off. Also, Mon Cargo will always replace your box with a new one free of charge while other cargo companies would charge you $5 or more per box. So with Mon Cargo, you will never have to buy your boxes. I always take advantage of their promo "ship one + one"! So I send the regular box to my family plus one mini box to a dear friend at a different address. They have a free box only for Luzon delivery and pick up is available in Sacramento area. They do the binding of your boxes.

This is the last time I will send a box thru this company .. up until now my box that was sent on 1/29/2022 it's still not received by my family .. Everytime I call and asked them when will it be delivered they always say by second week of April or by early week or early next week .. You can't even track the package online like what they advertise .. I've send many boxes here during pandemic and they deliver way faster than now .. I used this cargo service for the first time to send boxes to the Philippines. Agnes promised that the boxes will reach within 37 days but it took over 3 months. The next time I spoke with Agnes, I mentioned this fact to her and wanted to use the service again but did not want the same situation to happen with delayed shipping. Rude Staff! First of all they will ask you if you can hold on the phone, i said yes to them nicely and waited patiently. Then they hung up on me. When i called the following day to follow up again for my box, they said to call in 5 mins since they're busy. Then why bother answering the phone then? Since I was in high school back in the Phlippines (a decade or so ago), my aunt would send balikbayan boxes to my family every Christimas through Mon Cargo. I personally was almost always present whenever the box would arrive, so I can testify that the staff were professional and friendly. The boxes would always arrive on time, no damage, no tampering, nothing missing. Now that I've migrated here in the US, me and my aunt continue to use Mon Cargo's service to send boxes home. As I've said, they are very professional, good quality service, excellent management, helpful staff. They even gave us a heads up/apology last year (sometime in Nov. 2014) when we sent our box home, informing us that there were delays in California ports and congestion in Manila ports, so our box may be delayed. I have been using Mon Cargo since 2007. They've been very reliable in terms of not losing any of my items. I trust them when it comes to integrity. Fees are among the lowest compare to others. Sure there have been times when the boxes got there a week or so late, but all others I've used before have done worse. NEVER, EVER, again. My box took two months for the ship to arrive. Add to that time their own dispatch and you are looking at more than 8 weeks from door to door. All their competitors take 4 to 5 weeks door to door. Mon Cargo's service moves very, very slowly. It's a disservice considering that they are one of the original couriers in the Bay Area. This cargo service moves like a TURTLE...have sent my box on June 5th, my family hasn't receive it, to be exact - TWO MONTHS. VERY POOR, DISORGANIIZED. I GOT TIRED OF CALLING THEIR OFFICE...my box dextination is in Capas, Tarlac not far from their Las Pinas warehouse. I AM TRULY SUSPICIOUS ...probably a lot of missing items from my box by now! Box was picked up from San Francisco Oct. 20. Today is Dec. 22, it's been 2 months and 2 days and the box has yet to be delivered. So many excuses: 1. Dec. 16 - There was a typhoon and flooding in Malolos, so they went to Nueva Ecija instead: that's what the person tasked to deliver informed Vanessa when she called him 2. Dec. 22 - According to Vanessa, the delivery truck just arrived, AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE HOUSE CANNOT BE LOCATED. How can that be when they had been delivering boxes thrice a year in the same house for more than three years now, the last was just in October 2015? When she dialled the person tasked to deliver, there was no answer; now, even Vanessa cannot be reached or did they just deliberately hung the phone so no more complaints can reach them? Poor service. One star as rating is just being so generous on our part. read more

Well I said I would write a review if the package was delivered in good condition so here I am doing as promised. The lady in the picture (assume the owner) was very nice. I have horrible handwriting so I asked her to write all the information on the two boxes for me and she did so without complaint. When I called for tracking on both ends they were prompt and kind. Not sure why some people give nasty reviews. The missing box stuff person I suspect was done at inspections which is when it normally would occur. The prices are extremely fair for the care they take and shipping overseas. Shipping a box traditionally would cost 100's of dollars so 80 is a steal. I rather go with someone who I trust than save a few bucks with another company. I was super paranoid about shipping anything but got a good feeling with this company and they followed through as promised. I will be shipping again at the end of this month and will write a second review to tell you how it goes. Any questions feel free to ask... not sure how that works in yelp but if possible go for it. My mom has been sending Boxes from them for over 15 years. The problem we gave been encountering is that the estimated delivery are taking longer than promised. Picked up end of November, its January 30th and still has not arrived. Spoke to CSR 2 weeks ago she said it will be delivered 1/20. Today 1/30 I called CSR says they loaded it to their truck on 1/28. This might be the last time my mom will be sending with them. It's too bad because the courier that pick up from us is very nice and efficient. 2 months or longer for delivery is not worth what they charge. I also want to add that it's been a since late 1990's since they send us a picture of my aunt receiving the box. read more

Can't believe I even pressed one star. Only because I can't move on and write this text if I don't put any. Well, my care box with medicines and the usual food items we all send, was sent to a city up north. When it reached the destination, the box was 2/3 full. It was the holidays and so our hearts sunk in utter dismay. I called their office here in the US and I was more dismayed how they handled my call. I was cut off once. Then was treated like I didn't have any right to even tell them about my experience. I told them I called to ask if they could investigate that maybe it wasn't them but maybe some other 3rd party agent or whatever. I wasn't accusatory because I wanted them to at least help me find out why things turned out differently. I was giving them a chance to maybe at least be emphatic and considerate of what I have felt at that moment. But nah. I felt like I was cheated on. That it was even my fault that I've chosen them to trust my precious hard earned goods with. I've done business with them for five years but they didn't treasure my loyalty even. That did hurt more I guess. To think that I do business with them 2x a year. And sometimes, if they know it's time, I still get their calls even in the middle of a meeting to ask "Ma'am, may ipapadala na ba kayo?". But never again. This ends my business with them. Could've gone to the BBB but I figured they don't deserve that extra mile so I'm taking the high road and will end this at this. read more
