Terrible customer service. I asked the staff to place my return packages in mailers and attach the labels because the two packages were almost identical, and I didn't want to risk the labels getting mixed up. Instead, they placed the packages and labels on the back counter to be packaged later. This has happened to me before, and my packages ended up getting mixed up, which is why I made the request in the first place. What made the experience worse was the response from the employees. The woman assisting me and a tall older man with white hair behind the counter laughed and made dismissive comments such as, "Oh, come on! We're UPS, we know what we're doing!" Regardless of where you work, mistakes can happen, and customers should be treated with respect when they're simply trying to avoid a problem. It's not unreasonable for a customer to want a little peace of mind, especially when mistakes do happen. I took my other package and left. For reference it was not busy at all. First time and hopefully the last time went in needed to print some documents set it in putting a sign on top of the computer saying computer out of service they let me get into it and then they got all computers not working I said oh you don't have nothing else I can print on no you can send me the documents and I can print them for $5 plus the amount of pages that I needed printed Let's say looking at the computer they only needed to update their software but as I added service you can send it to me we can print it for $5 BS trying to figure out how to get more money out of you read more

I went to this ups store to return items from Amazon. I printed out all the labels for ease of the ups employee. I have not been to this ups store in awhile. Upon entering, Eric the ups attendant did not greet a single person. As I was assisting with providing the packages with the labels to scan, Eric kept snatching the paper to scan off the packages (they were taped on, it was not the label but the barcode to scan). Eric proceeded on grabbing and tossing items to the back counter as he scanned them. It was apparent Eric was irritated upon my arrival and he made it obvious that he did not want to provide good customer service. At the end, he said "take the items out of the box, you take your box". He then threw the tracking receipt inside. I often do not write negative reviews since it affects the business but Eric's behavior is unacceptable. I will not return to this location. read more

I have been using this location for the last 8 or so years on and off. I ship business as well as personal items. For a period of time I had a post box there too. Until recently my wife wouldn't set foot in this location. The lines were long, it seemed haphazard, disorganized and generally a pain in the rear to use, even the parking was terrible but that was caused by the enormous number of people standing in line waiting for the simplest of things... but they were close by so I gritted my teeth and did my business there... It looks like they have changed hands and the entire place is now NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENT... I cannot express in words how pleased I am with the change... But I'm damn well gonna try. First off, the place was clean. It was organized. You could see that they had new systems in place and new processes. The service was quick, efficient, polite and a pleasure to work with. The staff was polite and fast. The shipping costs were in line with any others that I used. As this item was an Amazon return, I brought it in unsealed. The gentleman who served me told me that this is supposed to be closed by me. I immediately said that I would pay for the service or buy a roll of tape. Just as quickly, he said not to worry, he would take care of it free just this time. This was great as I fully expected to have to buy that tape. That has been done to me in the past at other UPS locations. This location, on the other hand, seemed to give a damn about customer service and it showed. In the end it is this: Lines are non existent now, parking is easier, the place is organized, the people efficient and polite, my package got to where it was supposed to go on time and in good order. They truly are professional and give great service. This cements it for me. They have ALL my business going forward. Don't believe the negative reviews. Some people simply do not understand. I received two significantly different customer service experiences at the two UPS stores in San Leandro: 1271 Washington Ave San Leandro, CA 94577 1250-A Fairmont Dr San Leandro, CA 94578 The UPS store on Washington Ave, managed by Ms. Minal Josh, would not print my thermal print label but the UPS Fairmont store had no issue doing so. Why does the UPS store on Washington Ave store try to charge their customers to print their return label while the Fairmont store doesn't? When I asked manager Minal Josh to show me the UPS policy where it says it costs $5 to print a customers return label, she couldn't provide this information to me. I didn't choose UPS as my shipping company. The company I ordered from did. When I do have a choice, I do not chose UPS due to experiences like this. UPS does not put their customers first and they rely on USPS/the post office for their deliveries. So why not just cut UPS out from being the middle man? Or use FedEx since they're more efficient? read more

I have been a long time customer who must receive my packages at a secure location- the staff has always been great - esp since I'm a nurse who has to race thru commute traffic to reach them before closing . Today I arrived 3 min before closing - there were 2 customers inside and I simply needed to pick up packages. The employee rather new at this location said "we're closed " - although I pointed out the situation .i stood there for 4 more minutes with customers still inside and he unlocked the door and said " what's your problem- I said we are closed - we are trying to go home " and still wouldn't let me simply pick up packages . I have been coming here for maybe 9 years and have never been treated with such disrespect and unprofessional conduct - and no he was closing early - I had my phone with me . Though I regret the expletive I used - I was admittedly provoked after driving past my home in order to get these- and have an employee - still on the clock- tell a customer his needs mattered more than mine read more

My partner and I came to this location earlier this week as we needed a document notarized and emailed to an attorney ASAP. Really glad we came here as it's practically a one-stop shop! We were welcomed in and helped by John. He took down our information, notarized our documents, and we even shared what parts of the Philippines our families are from. Talk about being personable! We also needed help emailing copies of the notarized documents to our attorney and thankfully, The UPS Store offers this service, too! Once we paid, Brandon walked us over to the copier machine where he was able to scan the files. He also asked us to confirm if the destination email addresses he entered were correct (thank goodness he asked us to verify because it was off by 1 letter, but that was probably due to my messy writing on a post-it note). Our attorney received the scanned files almost immediately, which was a big sigh of relief. John and Brandon- thanks again for all the help and great customer service! I would absolutely not recommend renting a mailbox from this place. I will be reporting this commercial mail receiving agency (CMRA) to multiple agencies.  Supervisor Minal Joshi refused to re mail my mail in spite of acknowledging that USPS will not forward mail from a ups store and blatantly violating the attached usps policy that I presented to her and have attached. To make matters worse, when I asked to be given any mail which may have been delivered since I closed my box last week I was told they would have already disposed of it FYI Destroying mail which does not belong to you is a federal crime Minal and associates. read more

If it seemed sketchy in any way, I'd leave an find other store. There is always a big line in the store, but I am always helped and out of the store in a couple of minutes. I want to start by saying the employees here work hard and are helpful, it's the ownership who is the problem . I used to come here all the time before ownership changed and Minal is now managing the store. This retail store is not following UPS shipping costs, which they are obligated to do under a franchise. Adding extra costs to shipping fees ($25 insurance vs $6.50 at another UPS store!!), so they can rip you off and pocket the extra money. I clarified with UPS that any retail store is not allowed to do that, they have to follow the standard costs set by UPS. When I confronted Minal about huge discrepancy in cost , she made up a bogus lie about it being different online. Again, I clarified with UPS that the cost remains the same whether it be online or in the store. Go to fedex or the post office right around the corner where they don't arbitrarily make up prices. Went there today 9.3.2024 before 12noon, and I had two processed for return and two didn't. I step up to the available counter and told the staff I had two to return and I'll do the other two later. She said ok and there were troubles with her computer so I said take your time. An older woman who was indian step in and ring a different person up on the same register that I was already in. After a few minutes I was scold at. She said "if you are not done, go stand by the door and finish your things". I wasn't expecting her to ring me up because the person who help me was literally behind her trying to help me. I told her i have two items to return and will do the other two later. Fast foward she started raising her voice at me, and i told her repeatly but she wasn't paying attention to a word i said. She rang me with the two items and told me "NOT TO COME BACK". This is so not professional at a company like UPS. Why are you hiring people that treats customers like this? This is the reason why such business is going down hiring people who thinks they are always right and every else is wrong. What happen to "Customers First"? There's no value at all. My daughter was charged $55 for shipping a package weighing less than 1 pound to New York. These were SOCKS--the woman behind the counter presented a shipping option as being the cheapest for 3-day select. We should have cancelled the order, so this is on us, but pretty unethical regardless. Lesson learned. read more

Rudest manager Eric, and his staff. Was ok before, never had a problem but today was not. UPS ground delivered a package to us, box was smashed and contents, glassware were broken. Figured local ups store would be more understanding and customer service oriented as per their website values. We wanted to show them what their company did, even if you are a franchise, you represent UPS. So first thing said was you need to tape up the smashed box. If they do it, they will charge $10 for tape, label need to be printed, if he does, charge $5, for one page! Ridiculous, and an embarrassment to UPS store values, what customer service!
