Tried both their momo chicken & beef. It's okay. Not the best but not bad. They do make it fresh by hand! Their Taro MT was okay, too. It's powdered. Taste like all powdered milktea. It was close by to where I work so I'd probably order again. read more

I live super close by and come here often. They have great classic momos and the gravy (I think it's called jhol achar) goes well with it. If you're alone or with a friend, you can sit there (bar type seating), but overall, it's a very small store. Most people take out. read more

From the outside it looks like a cute boba momo spot people hang out at but when I walked in it I got bursted with a fart weird smell. I had momo before around Jackson heights and the smell was not there. Was a turn off to be honest. Also The place looked kinda dirty in my opinion and I didn't trust the sauce they gave out based on my gut feeling after having explosive diarrhea years ago from eating samosas with dipping sauce at an Indian spot that looked similar. Also read a review of someone saying they gave expired meat. The flavor was good though but definitely nowhere near the ones I had in the past. The momo I had in the past were very juicy and rounder and tasted very rich. These just tasted like Chinese dumplings at any take out spot. read more

Best momo I have ever had. The other menu items aren't to bad either. The best part is the bubble tea. Super sweet and very delicious

I went on a Sunday afternoon and there was only one man working there. I ordered and he said it will be a couple minutes: it took twenty minutes for me to get my food for one order of chicken momos and one of beef momos. Granted, there was one person working there, but I was only one of two people there ordering food. After 20 minutes, I took them to go and when I ate them, a couple of them were cold on the top, almost as if they were previously cold or frozen and then later heated up. They were good tasting, but not worth waiting 20 minutes and then for some to be cold. Unfortunately, this was my first time coming here and I would probably not come here again. read more

We don't live nearby, but my friend and I come here every couple of months to eat their chicken and beef jhol momos. No other place prepares the dish with such care. They do take some time to prepare the dish, but it is worth it. It's definitely a takeout spot more than a dine-in; there are a couple of stools and chairs to have a quick bite if needed. The Aloo dum is also delicious and well seasoned! The bubble tea is alright, other spots offer better tapioca. Overall, a must-visit if you're into momos!!! read more

Momochai - Chicken jhol momo and beef jhol momo (with spicy sauce) - Bubble Tea Near Me - Woodside, New York

I walked past this place during my early morning walks last year. It then became a place of interest. So when my friend suggested this place for us to grab dinner, it was no brainer. We ordered momos, veg and chicken. We added two small plates of aloo dum and channa. The momos were tasty. I've tasted better but theirs were not bad. The portions are good for sharing if you get couple orders. Aloo dum is made with potatoes and a spicy coat of dry sauce. Channa iis a plate of baked chickpeas sprinkled with diced red onions and finely chopped chillis. I enjoyed the channa more than the aloo dum since I find the latter spicy for my palate. They offer outside dining for those who are comfortable with that kind of dining arrangement. if you haven't been to Woodside then this is worth the trip off the 7 subway train. read more

Great Momos. Sure it takes time to get them, but they are as good as they get. The momos have a thin coating and are cooked to perfection. THey are served with a peanut broth which is amazing and can come with hot sauce if you so desire. Give this place a chance, you will not be disappointed. read more

At around 1:30ish, the only food items available were the momos. I had expected a longer turnaround time but the momos came pretty quickly, with the chicken ones taking a bit longer than the beef. Both were juicy, though the beef had the slight edge in flavor. Unfortunately a few adhered to the paper plate, causing major spillage during extrication. The spicy sauce wasn't that strong but the tan colored sauce was preferable. The taro bubble tea had maximal content as there was no ice, and it offered a sediment-filled but not overly sweet beverage. Prices were modest and a $15 minimum was required for credit card usage, though Amex was not accepted. read more

My favorite place for jhol momo. I think this is the place where you can get the best Jhol momo ( soup momo). I like the combo of soup and spicy achar with my momo. I am really not a fan of chowmein, but i really like their vegetable chowmein. Choila is bomb. read more

This is a small shop that gives you the old school mom and pop feel. We found it one night when my kid wanted dumplings but my wife and I wanted to try something else. We searched on Yelp and came across Momochai so we went with momos. They were a hit. The have a small menu of food and some bubble tea. We tried a few orders of the beef and veggie and they were both excellent. Definitely will return. read more

Food is good. Love the momo here. You have to call 15mins in advance to avoid the waiting. However, the man at the counter is always slow in motion. And sometimes they cannot understand English very well. In addition they have to upgrade the drink menu. Not those smoothies left over in the fridge God knows when it was made. read more

A little quaint spot with Himalayan / Nepalese Momos. Whether you get chicken, beef or vegi, it's for a good price of $8.50. They take all kinds of virtual payments too. They also have a variety of bubble teas and the owner is super sweet. read more

First time checking this place out. They make momos to order. Be prepared to wait 15+ mins. If you're in a rush, go earlier. They make sure the momos are cooked before giving them to you. I got the beef momos $6 for about 7 momos. They were SO flavorful. You could just eat them without sauce. I don't know what's in the sauce but it was good. They also had mango lassi in the fridge. It was so good, I bought an extra one. I will be back for more momos! read more

When your Nepali friends tell you this is the best place for momos in the country- sit up and LISTEN! Super fresh and delicious momos. We ate to the point of explosion. I can't speak much to the rest of the menu (we tried a few things and the were good but not the BEST I ever had) but definitely enjoyed the momos immensely!!! Very reasonable too... read more

This was a no frills mom and pop shop, but the momo's man--my mouth is watering just thinking about it. The spice in the hot sauce is real for those who don't have the tolerance--but man 2 orders of those and I was having a hard time breathing i was so full. read more

You can smell their food from half a block down, so I had to give it a try and I'm glad I did. Today I got the chicken momo and passion fruit bubble tea for $13, and I'm impressed! I was in dire need of dumplings and decided to hit up Momochai. There's hardly any fanfare about this Nepalese/bubble tea operation, so it became my civic duty to see what's going on for myself. When I arrived at around 8 on a Saturday, I was the only person inside the small storefront. It's a pretty simple menu: about six different Nepalese dishes and maybe a dozen varieties of tea drinks. I read some not-so-great things about the tea so I skipped that, but ended up getting two orders of momos for myself because I deserved them. They say nothing good isn't worth waiting for, and while I'm really doubting that's actually what they say, it's true with the momos here. I ended up waiting about 10 minutes for my orders, but they came out fresh and piping hot. The chicken momos are in a curved shape, while the beef ones came in a more potsticker-looking form. Both were exactly what I was hoping for- slightly chewy skin, moist and flavorful filling. If I had to stick with only one kind, I'd pick the chicken, but that's no slight to the beef. I wasn't planning on trying the hot sauce that came with them, but I couldn't help it and I'm glad I didn't resist- very very hot and it made for a completely new experience. Momochai is a diamond in the rough out in Woodside. There may be nothing around it, but it's definitely worth visiting if you live in the area or you don't mind a doable walk from the 7 stop. I'll be back for more dumplings and perhaps other Nepalese dishes here! read more

They have deliciously delicious momo. I'd recommend everyone to try their amazing jhol momo.

My favorite MOMOs!!!!! This is a small hidden gem in Queens! They have been open for several years now and their momos are always fresh, made to order, and so flavorful. The beef are the best I have ever had, anywhere ( and I did the momo crawl where I tried many different restos momos). Their chicken momos are also exceptional. The dipping sauce is a tasty curry sauce, which is a delightful accompaniment. They also serve bubble tea, which I love and mango shakes!!!! !!!! The staff is always friendly and the place is clean!!! read more

Excellent jhol momos. The sauce is so yummy. The chilly sauce is really hot so be careful.

Small fast food ambience. Quick service. Delicious mo: mo: that is true to the name of their outlet.

Jhol chicken momo, mixed chowmein, and Mula kakra is the perfect combo for 2 people. I like to take mine to the nearby park! The turbo bubble tea is also yum. I have passed this location so many times but never ventured in because it is usually full of teenagers. Now that it is summer and the kids are out of school I walked in. It still had a few customers, which was understandable, even encouraging. I had the chicken Momo, DELICIOUS. I'll be back for more and to try the drinks. I appreciated so much that the Momo was not oily inside. I could actually eat it without the yellow sauce- but it was tangy and flavorful enough that I was tempted to eat it by spoonful's! read more

These momos are out of this world! I personally prefer the chicken jhol momos and am in love with the spicy sauce. The place is small but all the dumplings are made fresh to order so I'd recommend sitting down at the counter or the little kiddie table instead of getting carry out. I agree with the rest that the bubble tea isn't really worth it but FYI they do also make mango lassis and they're pretty good. Service is also great so I always tip. When my friend and I came here it was very busy. Lots of people packed into their tiny space. It took us 15 minutes to order and get our bubble teas... The place had a dirty feel, unfortunately. Also, I saw them squirt a clear syrup (probably corn syrup) into the bubble tea. I don't know why, but this grossed me out a bit? I have gotten bubble tea from a lot of different places and have never seen anyone squirt corn syrup into my tea. Meh. read more

The place is really small with limited seating but what makes for a small shop is a neat and clean place. There's two main choices: drinks such as Boba or with beans. Or their $6 for eight Momo. Momochai make pretty decent Momos. The filling was hot and entire Momos fresh. The dough part was soft with a bit of good chew, held together nicely when bit into. Filling and makes a good snack or light meal. Yes, recommended for anyone that like dumpling style bites. read more
