From the outside it looks like a cute boba momo spot people hang out at but when I walked in it I got bursted with a fart weird smell. I had momo before around Jackson heights and the smell was not there. Was a turn off to be honest. Also The place looked kinda dirty in my opinion and I didn't trust the sauce they gave out based on my gut feeling after having explosive diarrhea years ago from eating samosas with dipping sauce at an Indian spot that looked similar. Also read a review of someone saying they gave expired meat. The flavor was good though but definitely nowhere near the ones I had in the past. I went on a Sunday afternoon and there was only one man working there. I ordered and he said it will be a couple minutes: it took twenty minutes for me to get my food for one order of chicken momos and one of beef momos. Granted, there was one person working there, but I was only one of two people there ordering food. After 20 minutes, I took them to go and when I ate them, a couple of them were cold on the top, almost as if they were previously cold or frozen and then later heated up. We don't live nearby, but my friend and I come here every couple of months to eat their chicken and beef jhol momos. No other place prepares the dish with such care. They do take some time to prepare the dish, but it is worth it. It's definitely a takeout spot more than a dine-in; there are a couple of stools and chairs to have a quick bite if needed. I walked past this place during my early morning walks last year. It then became a place of interest. So when my friend suggested this place for us to grab dinner, it was no brainer. We ordered momos, veg and chicken. We added two small plates of aloo dum and channa. The momos were tasty. I've tasted better but theirs were not bad. The portions are good for sharing if you get couple orders. Aloo dum is made with potatoes and a spicy coat of dry sauce. Channa iis a plate of baked chickpeas sprinkled with diced red onions and finely chopped chillis. I enjoyed the channa more than the aloo dum since I find the latter spicy for my palate. They offer outside dining for those who are comfortable with that kind of dining arrangement. if you haven't been to Woodside then this is worth the trip off the 7 subway train. read more

Great Momos. Sure it takes time to get them, but they are as good as they get. The momos have a thin coating and are cooked to perfection. Both were juicy, though the beef had the slight edge in flavor. Unfortunately a few adhered to the paper plate, causing major spillage during extrication. The spicy sauce wasn't that strong but the tan colored sauce was preferable. The taro bubble tea had maximal content as there was no ice, and it offered a sediment-filled but not overly sweet beverage. I was in dire need of dumplings and decided to hit up Momochai. There's hardly any fanfare about this Nepalese/bubble tea operation, so it became my civic duty to see what's going on for myself. When I arrived at around 8 on a Saturday, I was the only person inside the small storefront. It's a pretty simple menu: about six different Nepalese dishes and maybe a dozen varieties of tea drinks. I read some not-so-great things about the tea so I skipped that, but ended up getting two orders of momos for myself because I deserved them. They say nothing good isn't worth waiting for, and while I'm really doubting that's actually what they say, it's true with the momos here. I ended up waiting about 10 minutes for my orders, but they came out fresh and piping hot. The chicken momos are in a curved shape, while the beef ones came in a more potsticker-looking form. Both were exactly what I was hoping for- slightly chewy skin, moist and flavorful filling. If I had to stick with only one kind, I'd pick the chicken, but that's no slight to the beef. I wasn't planning on trying the hot sauce that came with them, but I couldn't help it and I'm glad I didn't resist- very very hot and it made for a completely new experience. Momochai is a diamond in the rough out in Woodside. There may be nothing around it, but it's definitely worth visiting if you live in the area or you don't mind a doable walk from the 7 stop. My favorite MOMOs!!!!! This is a small hidden gem in Queens! They have been open for several years now and their momos are always fresh, made to order, and so flavorful. The beef are the best I have ever had, anywhere ( and I did the momo crawl where I tried many different restos momos). Their chicken momos are also exceptional. I have passed this location so many times but never ventured in because it is usually full of teenagers. Now that it is summer and the kids are out of school I walked in. It still had a few customers, which was understandable, even encouraging. I had the chicken Momo, DELICIOUS. I'll be back for more and to try the drinks.
