Every culture seems to have some type of dumpling, and I've sampled many, such as Japanese Gyoza, Polish Pierogis, Jewish Kreplach, and Chinese Wontons. I like them all, I guess I'm a dumpling fan. So, when I heard about a new Momo spot in Worcester, I decided to give them a try. What's a Momo? Momos purportedly originated in Tibet, and today are a mainstay in Nepal, Bhutan and across the Himalayan's in India. The Momo Palace has two locations in Worcester, I tried the one near Worcester Polytechnic Institute, a well-respected university in Massachusetts. It was quiet in their modest dining room, and I was seated immediately. Meanwhile they were doing a brisk takeout business. It's a small place, with an even smaller menu, but that's often a positive indicator for the quality of food served, as it was in this case. I decided to try all three varieties of Momo's, steamed, pan fried and deep fried. I selected pork, they also offer chicken and vegetable options. They arrived nicely hot, the pan fried was my favorite, but I liked all of them. The filling is slightly spicy, as is the sauce. They do not offer spice levels as you might find in a Thai or Indian restaurant. They offer a few more dishes including: * Regular Jhol Momo (Curry Sauce) * Chicken Thukpa (Noodle Soup) * Momos in Chicken Soup * Tornado Fries I plan to return and try them all!

The restaurant was not what I was expecting when you see it from the outside. The inside is a delightful lavender color and had seating options. I got the chicken thali, fried chicken momo, vegetable jholi momo, and tornado potato. They actually have a very simple menu that helps. The chicken thali took a little longer because they make it fresh. The service was like any sit down place, efficient. They could use some speakers inside for some music. Otherwise, definitely come to try the tornado potato!

Meh. Momos were tough. Flavor was great, but the toughness of the momos was just too much to try and get past.

My fiancé and I had been having a lot of trouble finding a venue that could host our crowd at a reasonable price, so we were beyond thrilled when Birchtree not only accommodated our 60 guests beautifully, but we actually ended up under budget. From start to finish, the service was phenomenal. The team was genuinely invested in making sure our night was perfect. They went above and beyond in every way and more than accommodated anything we needed. We had an outpouring of texts the next day from our guests. So many people let us know how beautiful the venue was and how wonderful of a time they had. The space itself truly showed a refined elegance which was the perfect kickoff to our wedding season. If you're thinking about working with BirchTree, Jayne, Caitlin, and the entire staff we're incredibly organized and attentive to detail, helping us set up, pack up, and even ensured all guests had clean tables, fresh drinks, and the bar staff recommended really unique cocktails & mocktails! We are so grateful to the entire BirchTree team, especially Jayne and Caitlin for helping us set the tone for our wedding. We would absolutely recommend having an event here - you will be in the best hands!

Space was nice and airy, art was cute, food was solidly mediocre. Everything was missing out on seasoning, except the tomato soup. The soup was solid. Bathrooms were quite dirty. The food cost too much.
