Much better experience with takeout last night, everything was outstanding! We had chicken tikka and chicken korma. Chili naan was phenomenal if you like the heat like me, has chopped fresh chilis on it. Only feedback is it's called "lounge" but still they do not serve liquor, originally I thought they were waiting on the liquor license, not sure if they are. Most places that don't serve alcohol are BYOB and I don't believe this restaurant is. Most people like to have a drink with dinner, and don't mind grabbing their own. But if it's not permitted they'll choose someplace else for dinner. Maybe consider BYOB if that's possible, either until a liquor permit is requested or as an alternative. Absolutely lovely -- can't believe it took us a year to discover this gem! We finally tried Bombay Indian Restaurant, and we're already planning our next visit. The food was outstanding -- every dish was rich with flavor and beautifully presented. What really stood out was the ambience: linen tablecloths and cloth napkins, thoughtful service, and a calm, elegant atmosphere that made the entire experience feel special. I really wanted to like this place I gave it a chance and the name they called themselves a bar/lounge but they have no alcohol beverages but that's beside the point the food is bland for Indian food and super greasy. I feel really bad because I'm not used to bad Indian I didn't think there was one this bad. But the staff is very nice. By the way, did I mention that the small container of chicken tikka masala was over 20 bucks. If it was delicious, I would paid over $30 but it's beyond bad. I feel like they need kitchen nightmares But the only thing saving their business is DoorDash, but the owner needs to stop yelling at the DoorDash drivers, because that would fail them too. It was a cold New England evening as we ventured outside, and we were looking forward to some hot and tasty Indian food. This was our third visit to the Bombay Lounge, and unfortunately it may have been our last. There was only one other party when we arrived a few minutes before 6pm, and we were immediately seated by the waiter/host. We took a booth by the window, which as the night wore on proved to be a mistake, as it was very cold there. But we decided to stay rather than hassle with moving to another table. We ordered two appetizers, an order of samosas and the juicy chicken lollipops. These arrived pretty quickly about 10 minutes after our order was placed. We really liked the three heavily fried samosas, and saved one to take home, but found the chicken lollipops odd, they were difficult to eat with a knife and fork, and very messy to pick with your hand. No additional napkins were offered, and we thought the chicken was a little tough. One of these was left behind, deemed unworthy of taking home. We ordered two Masala Chai teas, hoping a hot tea would warm us up. The tea was tasty and warm, but not hot. We didn't realize it was $9 a cup, more on that topic in a moment. For our dinners we selected: * Chicken Chettinad $24 * Creamy Lamb Korma $28 * Peshawary Naan $9 * Ghee Rice $9 Of all these dishes, I liked the sweet Naan the best. It was nicely executed, warm and delicious. I've had better Lamb Korma, and though the presentation was very nice, the Korma wasn't very creamy, and insufficiently hot. My co-diner thought the Chettinad was "okay", I didn't care for it. The rice was standard fare, mild and a good addition to the Korma, Bombay Lounge does not include rice with their dinners. The Korma and Chettinad weren't very hot, which was surprising considering how long it took for these to be prepared. My co-diner said it was over 45 minutes for these to arrive at our table, and when they finally arrived, they were tepid at best. The bottom line from our perspective was very slow service, average food at best, and high prices. Our bill for two diners with tip was $146, without any alcoholic beverages. We cannot recommend the Bombay Lounge. read more

Based on the photos and reviews, we have been wanting to go to this place for some time. Went there with the family on a Wed night. I have to say, this is the best Indian food that I have had in the Massachusetts area and I have been here for 15+ years. The service was great & the server was very attentive and informative. But, the highlight was the food. It is the closest it can get (in Massachusetts) to what you get in Mumbai. Definitely coming back and will recommend others. read more

I would give it a 3.5 out of five. The service was nice and attentive did take a while for them to retrieve the cards for payment. We opted for the Buffet which had many selections. Food was lukewarm but very tasty. No alcohol served here, non alcoholic wine was ok but for the same price of a glass of wine maybe I will pass next time. I've probably visited at least six times in the last year, and each time I leave doubling down on my intention to dunk my entire head in a catering tray of their dal makhani because it's so good. Naan is perfect, lassi is the best and brightest that I've ever had, their dishes -- okra, lentils, any and all chicken -- are distinctive and delicious, and they make a proper gulab jamun. Kala khatta is a really neat surprise, and they have the best lunch special in town. It's always so cute and romantic to go there. They are such an outstanding addition to the city. read more

My rating is more like 3.5/5. This is located in Worcester town and gives very family friendly vibe. The service is impeccable, staff is super friendly, very accommodating and receptive of the feedback. The restaurant doesn't serve alcoholic drinks. So we ordered a few mocktails which were good and a salted chaas which was a bit too salted. My friends and I shared crispy lotus roots, chicken Lolipop, shivsagar vada pav (2 pcs) for the apps and paneer bhurji ghotala, butter tandoori roti and laccha paratha. Overall the taste and quality of the food is decent, but everything is very overpriced and I didn't get the authentic Indian food taste. I ordered BL from UberEats tonight as the reviews had been pretty good. I ordered a veg biriyani and was not given a spice option. The biriyani was absolutely inedible. The spice level was not just spicy but as if someone just poured chili powder on top of it. Such a disappointment. For the price of the food, it should at least be edible. I enjoy spicy food and I usually order my food spicy, but this is such a disastrous attempt at flavor and heat. I will not be giving this restaurant any service going forward. We tried Bombay Lounge's buffet last weekend and everything was delicious. They have different themes for different weekends and last weekend was ' taste of southern India'. All the dishes were cooked to perfection. Meat was very tender not harda nd chewy like some orher nearby Indian restaurants that I have been too, no use food color or excessive cream whatsoever. My family and I were able to go here tonight on a whim! First of all the place had great ambience with nice music and lighting. The menu was creative with excellent allergen info. Many dairy free and gluten free options. The food was excellent! Even the kids liked it, which can be difficult with strong spices! Highly recommend the fenugreek chicken and butter paneer masala! I was pretty excited about upscale date night spot in Worcester but this is not it. Bombay Lounge needs to work out a few things but here are a few suggestions: Train and train your staff again. They should understand dietary restrictions and be experts on the menu. Teach them to be attentive to guests. Again, this is supposed to be upscale dining-- make it flawless experience. Second, get a new chef or edit the menu with items the chef can make well. We had channa masala and it was loaded with tomato sauce. All I tasted was tomatoes. My husband had aloo gobi and it was one of the worst tasting things I've had at a indian restaurant. If you're expecting people to pay $100 plus for one meal, the entire experience has to be elevated. I don't plan to recommend this spot or return again but hope they make necessary changes quickly to survive in this market. Good luck. read more

We came by on opening day and it was a very subpar experience. I understand that kinks need to be worked out on the first day, but our experience was inexcusable. Firstly, we were asked as soon as we sat if we liked the decor and to write a review. Ask that after we get the food. On that note, the food was not great and certain parts were forgotten and not taken off the check when we cancelled it. Other tables next to us waited 15 minutes for someone to take appetizer orders. They asked my wife and I to write a review at least 6 times, so here it is! I do not recommend going here, especially at this price point. There are better options around. read more
