Service was not great even though the front desk people are nice. Hardly saw the guy after he took the order. They don't know how to make naan, while the other Indian bread seemed like reheated from frozen. Ok may not have been frozen, but yeah made "earlier" and reheated. The only saving grace was the curry which was on the spicier side. They have the space, it could be better - but they have to hire better staff who know how to work in restaurants. Can quickly go downhill otherwise. Good for pickup, not great for dine in. The music playing in the background was too loud while the staff was busy watching the TV screen rather than asking whether the customer needed anything else or how the food was. Summarizing a restaurant run by people who don't know how to run a restaurant. Given the dismal quality of Indian food in a 20 mile radius from here is the only reason it gets a 3 star. Otherwise would have been a 2 star. I'll pickup next time I feel like going here. Till then just forced to use other restaurants except when I crave Indian food. Sad state of affairs. A couple friends and I came here the weekend of Diwali for dinner. The place seemed very busy with takeout orders. We placed our names in line and waited for about 15-20 mins before we were seated. We checked in a couple times while we waited as it wasn't immediately clear where in line we were. Especially since others who came after us were being seated. Once seated, we used a QR code to access the menu. The server was extremely nice and helped us with recommendations. We ended up with a 70 MM dosa (great to share amongst multiple people) and veg dum biryani. Now having biryani in their name, I had very high expectations. The dosa was phenomenal. Especially the chutneys and Sambar it came with. The biryani was 2/5..it was dry and had a very dominant taste of Garam Masala. It was lacking the moistness and flavour from the "dum" . They also do not serve any hot drinks (chai, coffee, regular tea)! But they do carry some Indian alcohol and soft drinks. read more

Ordered Temper Goat Biryani to go. I like hot and spicy food. When I requested the restaurant staff to make it spicy, he asked "How spicy?". I said, "spicier than medium spicy". He asked, "so... normal spicy or extra spicy?" I was tempted to say extra spicy, but controlled myself and ordered regular spicy (which doesn't mean medium spicy). Reached home, opened the box and saw box full of biryani, topped with a slice of raw onion, a piece of lime and half boiled egg. The quantity was good. I didn't need to microwave it because it was still warm. As I took my first bite, my first impression of this biryani was extraordinary! The taste was so good. I felt that it was very spicy and was relieved because I didn't go for the extra spicy option. But I was totally blown away by the taste. It is one of the best biryanis I had in the past few years. Remember, this was temper goat biryani, not the regular goat biryani. If you can't handle spice, don't order it. Go for the mild version of chicken/goat dum biryani. Another highlight which I shouldn't miss - the goat pieces were cooked very well. They are supposed to be cooked that well but usually, in most Indian restaurants, they don't. I could feel the difference instantly. Perfectly cooked meat, perfect flavors! I'm going to order biryani from this place again! Why 4 stars? The charm of bawarchi seems to have faded away. Really loved their food when they started about a year ago. Dined in and was disappointed by the food and service. Our server seemed disinterested eventhough we were only one of the two customers in the restaurant at that time. Chicken65 as appetizer was too dry and burnt, appeared to be refried multiple times. Medu vada was ok. Amaravati chicken curry was too salty and the gravy undercooked. Temper chicken biriyani was good. Dont think we will try again anytime in near future, unless the chef or management offers a change. read more

This has been a perfect outing for my South Indian and Biryani cravings. We ordered a couple of appetizers - Karampodi Kodi, Curryleaf chicken. I enjoyed the Karampodi Kodi but the seasoning on he Curry leaf chicken didn't fit the description of the dish. However, didn't matter as we swamped through the appetizers. We ordered Gongura Mutton Biryani, Hariyali Chicken Biryani, Vijayawada Boneless Chicken Biryani and a Kheema Biryani. All the biryanis were good but I particularly enjoyed the Hariyali Biryani and Gongura Mutton Biryani. All in all a perfect spot for South Indian food and Biryani lovers. A decent South Indian cuisine restaurant, with a varied range of Biryani's ( flavored rice cooked with meat or vegetables). Love some of their signature dishes like avakai Biryani, karampodi Kodi (starter), temper Biryani. All of the dishes are close to their authentic taste but it's the spice level that you should be mindful of. If you are not into spicy food , do mention to keep the spice level nominal when ordering. The service at this place can get better by all means. It takes a good amount of time for your order to show up. And I'm only talking about a standard order like 2 biryani which you normally expect to show up without any delay. My 3 stars are for the service and decent food.I would have really opted for a 4 star if not for the service. Customer service was great! Food could take some advice from other five star restaurants. Butter chicken was super spicy and not creamy and buttery enough. Saag paneer had bits of spice pieces, honestly Trader Joe's has better saag paneer than this freshly made saag. I really wanted to give this restaurant a higher score but the food really was not up to par. The drinks were incredibly delicious though, they get five stars for drinks. The mango lassi and cardamom milk was amazing. Could be better served with ice. Cauliflower appetizer was sour when it should have been sweet? Kindest people and service, five stars for service. I went here for lunch last Wednesday and really enjoyed it! My sister and I split the Avaki chicken and it was just the right amount of spice. The portion was big enough that we both ate and took some home. We also got the samosa appetizer - and the samosas along with the sauces served with them were so good! We are impressed! After a couple mediocre experiences here, the food was excellent today!!! Butter chicken was so rich and flavorful. Dal tadka (spicy) was not actually spicy but still yum and tasty. Bharta baighan was not your typical baighan bharta, but more literally stuffed eggplant in a gravy--very delicious though! Garlic naan and butter naan were soft and great. Mysole masal dosa comes with 3 chutneys and sambar. This was alright, nothing special. The only thing this place still lacks is service. They get slow when there's a lot of customers. Went here for lunch on a friday afternoon with a group of friends.We were seated immediately as the place was half empty.Few of us ordered the lunch thalis and others chicken biryani. The vegetarian lunch thali was good.Great selection of curries.The babycorn appetizer that came in the thali was very tasty.They asked us for seconds as well. We ordered a couple of biryanis.One is bawarchi special chicken biryani and other is vijayawada chicken biryani.Both the biryanis were flavorful. There was a drink menu placed on the table and we tried to order a few from that menu.But sadly they said they don't have any of the drinks except lassis and a mango drink.so we had to stick with the lassis. I usually order the bucket paneer nutaka biryani and hubby orders chicken biryani, we both love it. Starters are average but biryanis are yummy. I do feel that they put less paneer pieces in the bucket than they used to in the past, so bottom half is kind of just plain rice. I would go back for biryanis. read more

Definitely one of the good Indian restaurants in the area. Staff have been generally courteous however do not expect to get a mind blowing service. I have been here multiple times( both dining in and pick up) and generally speaking they have problems handling a lot of customer dining at the same time. Come here on a not so busy time and everything will be good. Their dosas are good(not so oily and crisp) though the sambar seem to vary from day to day. Not sure what is going on on that front as one day it will taste really great and the next time really bad. Once it was overly sweet. The biriyanis are generally speaking good however I prefer the lucknowi style Kolkata dum biriyani( The original one that was brought into the country by the mughals - Sorry am a biriyani Snob) which they dont have so I usually hardly order that over here. Their noodles and gobi manchurian did taste good and I can see myself having that anytime. I did love was their Andhra fish and the mutton pepper fry. Briyani Rice: was dry - sometimes eating Briyani after a tastes good (not sure if it cooked a day before), but NOT Avakai as it dries up fast. The rice was reheated. Goat Pieces: they were chewy and dry not juicy. This was cooked a day before and they reheated the goat pieces.They did NOT have the flavor of the avakai. We have visited Bawarchi is other locations, hence we were excited and looking forward to visiting this place. We went in for a dinner on a weekday, and was surprised to see the place was full even on a weekday. We placed order for: Chicken 65- fresh and tasty! Boneless chicken biryani-delicious! Podi dosa-very disappointing! While chicken 65 and biriyani met our expectation, the dosa was very disappointing. Podi dosa had way too much of podi topped on the crepe and it was very spicy/hot. They offered variety of chutneys with dosa, but unfortunately since the dosa was spicy, I dint get to enjoy their chutneys. Overall, the staff are courteous, good service, reasonable price, and huge portions of food. Looking forward to trying new items on their menu on our next visit. read more

This restaurant deserves five stars. I don't know why they don't have it yet, but they have it from me and my family. Everything we ordered was authentic and delicious. I appreciated that everyone was wearing gloves so I didn't feel like there were germs all over the food necessarily, I appreciated that they were not short staffed. Very bad customer experience we had. We went in 920. Their closing time is 930. they told very rudely that kitchen is closed when they were making food for others. There is no where it ie mentioned when they will let the last person in for dinner. If the time of closing is 930 then they have to serve us. The person there was extremely rude and in-courteous.
