Was given a gift certificate for my birthday to this restaurant so decided to swing by on a Friday night. The place was very clean and well decorated. The host sat us quickly and filled our waters and the server came to us after we settled in. My friend got a tamarin margarita and loved it. I was driving so stuck with Coke. We ordered three meals so We could try extra things. The vegetable pakora was amazing and my chicken tiki masala was divine! I was practically licking the bowl. My friend picked up a nice paneer dish that was pretty yummy too. The servers were very attentive without being in your face and the staff were so very gracious. AMAZING my friends and I were visiting Boston in the area and we wanted to try some Indian food. We ordered the Tomato Soup, Lemon Coriander Soup, Shahi Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Roast Briyani, Basil and Garlic Naan, Paratha, and a bunch of Mango Lassis. The food was amazing and bursting with flavor with each bite. I personally loved the Coriander Soup and the Chicken Tikka Masala. We had a soup, a dragon (paneer) appetizers, malai kebab, malai kofta and chola bhatura. Chola bhatura was superb , malai kebab and malai kofta were great as well. Soup was not to our taste, and panner appetizers was not best either. Good part was host came to our table and asked us how everything was. He was gracious to accept that soup and appetizers were not best to our taste and suggested alternative options. He even took soup out of our bill. This place is filthy. Went in to order and saw a chef reach down his pants and then pick his nose and go back to cooking. When I asked for the manager I got someone who looked unshowered and looked as if they had been wearing the same clothes for a week. They told me I don't appreciate or understand their culture. They then yelled that I was a racist. We ordered take out from here today. We are on a quest to try all the Indian places around and were excited for this new one. Samosas, garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, vegetable korma. Samosas were fine but had an interesting spice. Chicken tikka masala was supposed to be medium but had not spice at all. Vegetable korma was the most disappointing. It was frozen vegetables (carrots, peas, corn and green beans from a bag). We saw great reviews but could not be more disappointed. Indian meals are not cheap at all so wasting $50 on top of everything. read more

Very friendly staff. Ordered cheese Naan, mixed pakara, a mango lasso, and a house dish: Chingari w/ lamb. Everything was delicious. The Chingari reminded me of Moroccan flavors, especially with cinnamon ever present. Definitely coming back! read more

Went for Monday lunch buffet. Food was very basic, not much choice. Only 3 dishes with meat, all chicken: tandoor chicken, saag chicken and butter chicken. Nothing interesting like goat curry. Instead of biryani they had fried rice that looked soggy, aloo gobi, naan, plain basmati rice, samosas, some veggie appetizer and daal. Price for 2 people with one mango lassi was $51 before tips, which is decent in this market, I guess. Service was ok, not much for a buffet. They had music on, but two sources were playing at once - some classical music and Bollywood music. Not sure why this didn't bother anybody who works there. Granted, they are the only Indian restaurant that does lunch buffet in the area. But there must be a reason for that. Won't be back there for a buffet, and if I need take out I would stick to Peppers in Northboro near Wegmans - great food and variety. Bollywood in Shrewsbury is great as well. read more

I was traveling with my wife and children and we stopped in here to use the bathroom as one child had to go really bad.. When we first arrived there I noticed an awful smell and there were what looked like two workers fighting each other. One had his shirt off and was yelling very loudly. Stopped in for an early Sunday dinner. In town for my son's hockey tournament. Too late for the buffet so we ordered off the menu. Food was amazing. Chicken korma and garlic naan were super flavorful and some of the best i have had. Husband had chicken vindaloo and lemon coriander soup and he said the vindaloo was one of the best he has had. Soup was just okay. Highly recommend! I gave it four stars because the service was slow. There were two guys taking care of four tables but also taking phone orders and running in and out of the kitchen. read more

I did takeout about two weeks after Saffron opened and got to familiarize myself with the menu and the business by speaking with the bar server. Very pleasant server and the atmosphere was nice and quiet. While waiting for the order to be fulfilled, I learned that buffet was not in the early stage of implementation, but under consideration a few months after opening. Food was very good with consistent quality. I did spend over $100 for takeout, but it was worth it. I took home all the fixins and typical selections we make when dining at Indian restaurants. Will visit Saffron again, hopefully the buffet station will be implemented as well. Parking fits the bill. read more

We just had takeout and it was delicious. It was easy to order from the menu online. We tend to not prefer spicy food, so it was nice to be able to order mild spice levels. The portions were good sizes. Everything was incredibly flavorful. All the meats were perfectly cooked- juicy and tender. The order was ready to pick up when they said it would be. Extremely Rude Waitress - Very Disappointing Experience: I visited this restaurant for lunch on March 31st and had a very unpleasant experience due to the behavior of one of the waitresses. We ordered one appetizer, one biryani, and one noodles dish. The appetizer arrived first, followed by the biryani. While the restaurant was busy, and there was only one waitress, we patiently waited for the noodles, which never came. Unlike most restaurants where staff checks in during the meal, no one came to our table for a long time. Eventually, when we saw a food runner at another table. we asked him to bring our check and mentioned that we never received the noodles. We also requested that the noodles be removed from the bill. He said he would check if it was still in the kitchen, and if it was ready, we were okay with taking it to go. Instead of noodles, he brought fried rice. We told him we had ordered noodles, not fried rice. At that moment, our original female waitress overheard the conversation and became extremely aggressive. She accused us of "playing games" and insisted that we ordered fried rice and confirmed it several times, which was completely untrue. My husband and I both clearly remembered ordering noodles. Rather than handling the situation calmly, she began shouting at us in front of the entire restaurant, saying now she would have to explain to the cook why they made an extra dish. I told her this was unacceptable behavior and requested to speak to the manager. She said the owner was there but never brought them over. We asked her again to just remove the fried rice and bring the check, she aggressively grabbed the receipt, changed the price, and threw it on our table. I've never experienced such rude and unprofessional behavior from restaurant staff before. To the owner: If you're reading this, please understand that this kind of behavior will seriously damage your business. It wasn't about the $18 fried rice--it was about how disrespectfully we were treated. Your staff, especially the waitress we encountered, needs proper training in customer service and basic courtesy. Please take this seriously. Customers come for food and experience, and ours was truly awful. read more

I was so excited to see Saffron was open & to try it out. I ordered samosa, garlic naan, Baingan Bharta & Kadai for takeout. The food was hot & fresh when I picked it up and smelled amazing. Each item was better than the next. The naan was light & fluffy. The rice was the best I've ever had, Even a few days later as leftovers, it was soft & tasty. The entrees were delicious. I got door dash delivery of goat vindaloo. The goat was tender and didn't have a ton of fatty pieces. The couple of fattier pieces that were there were actually rendered and delicious to eat. Super flavorful and rice was cooked perfectly. My ONLY issue was that I ordered it mild and it was very spicy. Right on the edge of being inedible due to the spice. I eat Indian food regularly so I was aware that even mild has some spiciness level to it, but I had to eat every single bite with some skyr yogurt just to be able to eat it. Have been there before - excellent food and also great cocktails! Decided to come in for the buffet and was very glad I did. There were a number of veg and non veg dishes, including a goat curry. The chicken jalfreze was outstanding! There was plenty of rice and naan to accompany the curries along with kheer for dessert. I'd guess they are predominantly northern Indian, as there were a few Indo-Chinese options, including fried rice and chili chicken. A word of caution: while most dishes are medium, some are rather spicy. If you tend to avoid anything with three or more chilis icons after the name, maybe best to ask what dishes to try sparingly. It would be helpful if they added some chili stickers to the food labels. I went a bit late, so there weren't many people there - but it was well staffed and the atmosphere was pleasant. Some Indian music in the background and the sound of people talking. There aren't many Indian buffets left in the area for lunch - but even if there were, the quality of the food would have me coming back. The cost was $20, which seemed quite fair to me. It's a few bucks more than you'd spend at a chain restaurant for about 10X better food. read more

Food is pretty good compared to other Indian restaurants in the area. Now that I have been there a few times, my experience has changed significantly since the first time I went there. Like most Indian restaurants, they want to make fast and big profits at the expense of providing value for money. On one of the visits, they charged me $2 for a few slices of onion and lime, on top of an excessively priced Chole Bhature at ~$21. On my last and probably final visit, last Friday, they served my Chicken Tikka Masala with just 5 tiny pieces of chicken, and when the owner asked me how was everything, and I pointed that out, he said "let me check" and vanished. I just can't understand how and why these Indian restaurants in USA can't learn how to do swell business without ripping off the repeat customers!!! I mean just go to a Chinese, Thai or American restaurant and see how they provide value for money spent, how hard is that? read more

We visited this restaurant twice in one evening. The first visit was fantastic--the food and service were excellent. However, our second visit on Friday night was disappointing. They allowed a group of 25-30 people in the same area as regular diners. The noise was so overwhelming that we couldn't hear ourselves, and our waiter couldn't hear us either. Our kids were annoyed by the commotion. When I spoke to the owner, he simply said, "We are sorry." Due to this large group, the service suffered significantly; it took 1.5 hours to receive our food, and they didn't even serve water during that time.
