We are SO grateful that Bollywood Grill is open in the afternoons. The food and experience is superb. Truly, world-class food. We've had Indian food in Australia, England and around the states and Canada and we feel that Bollywood Grill is worth the drive from anywhere. Our server was a delight. placed a takeout order and when I arrived home, 30 minutes from the restaurant, I realized two of the containers were incorrect. I called the restaurant and told them I had just picked up a takeout order and two of the five items were incorrect. The person I spoke to told me he packed my bag personally and I was wrong. I told him I was standing with the containers open in my kitchen and was quite certain they had made a mistake on two items. He raised his voice and told me I was wrong and hung up on me. Oh my god. Genuinely the worst dining experience I've ever had, food was terrible, service was strange, awkward, and off-putting, and not to mention the surprise cockroach discovered at the bottom of my bread basket AFTER I'd finished most of it (only decent part of the meal, until the unfortunate discovery). My partner and I were craving Indian food, so we decided to try Bollywood Grill as it's close to home for us. We were greeted with dated decor and dirty cups on our table, but not a huge deal for us, we were hopeful. Our server was clearly new (which I have grace for, having spent 8+ years in the service industry), but this kiddo was clearly not cut out for it, interrupting us to tell us he was filling our dirty cups or clearing plates, but again, not a huge deal. We both ordered the curried goat (had it before at other places, we love it), partner ordered med-hot, I went just medium, with naan and mulligatawny soup, should be yum. Waiter bolts. Waiter returns with our meals, no soup. I ask, he bolts after some explanation about it taking awhile (so we all know what happened). Soup comes out about 10 mins later, I'm over it. Our meals though. We've had that exact dish before at other restaurants. First of all, both dishes came out almost inedible that's how spicy, and about 1/2 of the dish was these huge chunks of bone that must've been cut with a bone saw, and any meat attached was grizzly and chewy, so pretty inedible altogether. Garlic naan was great, soup was fine but had no meat really. I had the naan and the soup, leaving 2 leftover pieces to bring home. After attempting to eat the curried bone with a little goat in there, it was pretty clear that we weren't getting far, so I called over the waiter and told him (super kindly), what was up. He argued that he gave the right spice info, and I had to reassure him repeatedly that I wasn't blaming him personally, and that I needed to speak to a manager. Eventually I convince him, and he heads to the kitchen. A few minutes later, a man in a t-shirt and jeans approaches our table, and super awkwardly, the server stands about 5 feet behind him listening to the conversation. So I tell this guy what's up, and immediately it's clear that the manager is here to tell us that that's how Indian food is, that's how this dish is, we just don't know authentic Indian and can't handle our spice as white people. After attempting to refute this, it's clear he had already made up his mind and was here to patronize me. After a few mins of embarrassing back and forth, he agreed to take off 20% of the bill. Whatever. I'm over it. Just get me tf out of this place. He huffs away. Server brings the bill, it's still expensive and less was taken off than we thought, but like I said, get me tf out. As I'm placing my card down. I go to wrap the naan I saved in the paper that lined the bread basket, and at the bottom of the basket THERE IS A COCKROACH. It's crawling around and horrible. I still hadn't handed the server my card, and he was taking awhile, and I'm sitting there with a cockroach on the table in front of me. Everything in me wanted to leave without paying, but with the mishandling of every interaction involving customer service, I was afraid of making a scene and these people yelling at me or who knows what. So we waited, I paid, and left. Horrible, start to finish. Needless to say, will never set foot in that place again, what an awful experience. Should've known better eating at a place with one other party in it at 7:00 on a Friday night. Place should be shut down, don't waste your money. Gross. read more

Pretty good food, but personally, the prices are a bit expensive and the portion sizes are not that generous. My Saag Paneer was quite flavorful and creamy, but for $18 I kid you not, I got like 8 small pieces of paneer. But would I buy it again? Yes, but only on occasions because I'm broke (this could also be just a personal issue Lol). The chicken tikka masala was good, not special. Chicken was a bit dry but sauce makes up for it. The garlic naan is indeed very garlicky but again nothing special. The waiter actually gave it to us on the house which was very nice. But finally, the star of the show, the MANGO LASSI. I would drink it every day if I could. It is $6 for an okay size. But gosh, it's so creamy and the right amount of sweetness. There's not that many Indian restaurants in the Worcester/Shrewsbury area, and Bollywood Grill happens to be in a great location in White City. So if you're having Indian food cravings, this place will def fulfill them. It's a nice restaurant that's quiet and a bit dark inside, and the people are nice. But be prepared to break your bank (but then again, maybe I'm just poor LOL) read more

I enjoy Indian food and the food at Bollywood was excellent. I had the mulligatawny soup, lamb vindaloo and garlic naan. The restaurant is beautiful inside and they have a very busy take out business. So why a 2 rating? The service was terrible. I cannot recommend dining here unless you wish to be ignored. Requested water had not come after 10 minutes and had to be re- requested. I am eating spicy food and water is essential. The servers/management ? spent time sitting together with cell phones and chatting. Containers for left overs were dashed down on the table. But boy did they bring the bill fast. I would get take out, but these folks don't have a clue regarding restaurant service. I do not write many poor reviews, unfortunately this one was well reserved. It was a real treat as we hadn't had Indian cuisine in many many months and being able to dine in was a real bonus. We ordered vegetable mulligatawny, lamb vindaloo, saag paneer, basmsti rice and puri. The lamb was flavorful in a tradition spicy sauce with potatoes. The lamb was not tough but not as tender as I would have expected, still in all a good dish. Saag paneer was tasty although not quite the equal of others we have had; the basmati rice was aromatic and delectable. The Puri was going flat as it reached the table but still was more than acceptable. The dining experience was a little pricey, least wise for lunch, but over all our orders managed to scratch the itch. read more

Stopped in for the lunch buffet, just past noon, buffet is small, but worth the money. Basmati rice was outstanding, chicken tikka was awesome not spicy, tandoori chicken was moist and delicious. The naan was very good, only had one piece as they didn't replenish while I was there. Wait staff was attentive, water cup was filled often and checked on my food experience. Only a few other diners were in the restaurant, but the atmosphere was great, Bollywood playing and Indian music was traditional. I wish I read the reviews and looked at how many people reviewed before coming. The service was bad and the food was disappointing. The soup came out a minute before the meal. The garlic Naan was not bad. As for the rest of my meal, not so great. The flavors were disappointing. I had to wave several times for someone to come to my table for water, the bill and place my order. As I was checking out, I said to the gentleman, the service was not so great tonight. I was in the area and decided to pop in for quick bite after seeing there were no people inside. I ordered a lamb biryani (which I think is hard to find around here), a chicken biryani (for takeaway), and samosa. The lamb biryani was really good- tender lamb pieces, spiced well. Chicken biryani was also good, though not my favourite in the area. Samosas were average. The service was also average. It's a bit dark inside, if it's of any importance to people. Never again. We have gone to Bollywood Grill at least 8 times before but tonight was the last. We walked in and were seated quickly but then no one came to take our order for over 10 minutes. There was only one other table full so there's no excuse for such behavior. My husband got up to catch someone's attention. This waiter walks up no sorry or hello...just stands there. So we put our order in. He had a hard time grasping what we were ordering. I wasn't confident in his skills so we asked him to repeat the order to make sure he actually took the right order. The apps come out, pakoras were under cooked (batter was still raw). Then come out the entrees and as soon as I had the first bite I told my husband "something is off". Pretty sure it was old food. We didn't finish our meal and my husband wanted water but I said no we can't wait another hour for someone to notice us. He went to the door and paid the check. I made sure to tell him don't leave a tip because for this service you can't. Prior to leaving we did share our bad experience with the lady at the front desk. She didn't show much empathy. So I'm writing it here hoping now maybe they'll take feedback seriously so someone doesn't get sick from their food. Thanks. read more

I have never eaten at the Bollywood grill before. I'm fortunate to live in an area with many good Indian restaurants within a few mile radius. I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala which included some Basmati Rice. It contained 6-7 small chunks of chicken and the rest was sauce for $19.00. I have eaten at several Indian restaurants and for $19.00, it should be a fairly large portion and should taste excellent. To be fair, this is as my first time there, but my takeaway was average food at Bollywood prices read more

I just got home with some takeout from the Bollywood Grill and I am so happy I have to take a moment and appreciate the chef and staff. While I was waiting they graciously brought me a cup of tea and a glass of water and we're so kind. Now that I'm home I'm even happier with the delicious eggplant Bharta and Shai Paneer. Everything is so fresh and delicious and all the accoutrements were packed up perfectly- sauces and chutney. Awesome place! read more

This is a decent Indian restaurant and the food is good depending on what you order. I ordered gobi pakora (cauliflower florets fried in chickpea flour) served with 3 different chutneys(mint, tamarind and spiced onions). It was good. I also ordered panner kadai and madras chicken.madras chicken was ok( chicken with onions madras masala and yogurt) . I did not like paneer kadai which was over loaded with turmeric and was very tomatoyee. It came with rice and I got one garlic naan which was okay. Overall, food was okay. :) read more

I've gotten takeout from here about five times now, and it's always nothing short of delightful in palate. The prices seem a bit high, but they give massive portions that are good for two meals. The only downsides are that the meat tends to be on the dry side and that the naan is very dry. Overall, it's the best Indian food I've found in the area. read more

We had to catch the waitstaff's attention every time we needed something. I been coming to this restaurant for at least 10 years and even though the food is good the service is disappointing. I went there for dinner waiter took a long time to take our order. Drinks came after the food and when I told them I didn't like my drink because it was too sweet they didn't even apologize or offer to remake it until the bill came. Went in for lunch and was the only patron there the whole time I was there. Took 20 minutes for someone to come take my order with 3 servers milling about talking. Food was delicious but once done eating took another 20 minutes to have them come back and check on me so I could ask for the Check. Loved this place. Service was top notch , a bit of a language barrier , but patience and understanding from both sides made it ok. The naan bread (garlic) was amazing perfect crispy and soft inside. The tikki masala (chicken) was perfect. The serving was a little small for 4 but we ordered chicken vindaloo and rice made it just the right amount for two kids and two adults. Came here with some friends being that we all love Indian food. We knew we were in for a wild ride the moment we walked in and the place smelt rancid. We decided to stay anyway and at least try the food. We got a few things from the appetizer menu to share. Everything looked like it was purchased from the frozen section of a local stop n shop and tasted bland and/or weird. Most of it was clearly microwaved. One of our friends went as far as refusing to eat what was brought out and choosing to go to a local McDonald's instead. By the time it was time for the bill, we sat there for way to long trying to flag down our waiter as he stood in the corner of the restaurant staring in to space. Despite there being nearly nobody in the entire restaurant. For the cherry on the cake, the bill was abnormally high for just a few appetizers. Meh, Bollywood Grill is okay, nothing fantastic. I had a hankering for Indian food, and my meal here just didn't satisfy. I ordered take-out, although they do offer a lunch buffet everyday. I ordered the vegetable pakora, garlic naan and chicken tikka masala-standard fare. The naan and masala curry were both very tasteless--i've never been let down so much. I couldn't appreciate any of the spices and the chicken was rather tough. However, the pakora and accompanying chutneys were heavenly and were the silver lining of my meal. The food there is a bit pricey and I expected more for the $30 I spent. I will say that the staff was very friendly and cordial, and the restaurant itself was clean and inviting, but I will continue to search for stellar Indian food around me. read more
