Wow, I was honestly surprised this place was so empty around 5:30pm on a Saturday. Anyone who isn't coming here is seriously missing out. I was looking for dinner in the area and happened to stumble upon this bento spot on Google Maps. After a quick look through the photos, menu, and reviews, it seemed worth trying, and I'm so glad I did. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento, and after trying it, I can confidently say this is one of the most generously portioned and thoughtfully put-together bentos I've had in a while. The chicken was juicy, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. The attention to detail across the whole box really stood out, from the egg maki with crab stick to the pickled assorted veggies, yakisoba, radish, and a mountain of perfectly crunchy assorted tempura. Every component felt intentional and well executed. Beyond the food itself, which delivered on quality, flavor, and portion size, the presentation was great and the interior was extremely tidy and well kept. I got my order to go, and I really appreciated that they had seating available for takeout customers. The owner, I believe, who took my order was also incredibly friendly and patiently waited while I decided what to get. That kind of hospitality really adds to the experience. Between the excellent food and the warm service, this spot deserves way more attention. Honestly, if a place like this were located closer to downtown, like South Lake Union, Queen Anne, Fremont, or Madrona, it would easily become one of the most popular teriyaki spots around. This place was amazing and we will be returning! The lady running the shop was very sweet and you can tell she cooks with her heart. The food came out stunning and felt like a home made meal. There was nobody else in there the whole time we ate which was shocking! I hope more people find out about this gem. If you get a bento, you'll leave full but also wanting more! AMAZING gorgeous perfect. The owner was so sweet and hospitable she felt like a grandmother. She does all the work by herself and is making the food fresh and as you order. The food came out at a great time and was warm and fresh. There was such a diverse assortment of foods to choose from. The only draw back of this meal is not knowing what do dig into next. She even came to our table and explained the veggies in front of us. I was famished walking in but felt very indulged and satisfied coming out. Friendly service, clean space. Got the katsu curry, katsu was crispy and fresh. Rice was cooked right. Curry was flavorful, right level of salt and thickness. Comes with 2 little slices of pickles. Wish it came with a few pieces of broccoli or a little side salad. Most other places give a bit a of veggies. That's the one thing missing with this dish. Also, everything is served in a to go box. Unnecessary plastic. I was dining in so I wish they used a ceramic plate to reduce waste and microplastic exposure. Hot foot in plastic = max microplastics. read more

We used to patronize the former Umami so decided to check out its replacement. There were no other patrons when we arrived on a Saturday afternoon. The menu is fairly limited and prices were steep for bentos. We got the Chicken Karage ($18) and Unagi ($25) bentos. The main entrees were accompanied by tempera, 1 gyoza, and other items so they were filling. Taste was fine but nothing to rave about. It appears to be a 1 or 2 person operation. Several customers came in and waited with no one at the counter I had to get up twice to alert them. The walls were bare and they had hip hop music playing. This place is exceptional! I heard that this replaced the Umami Japanese restaurant (which was pretty good!) I love how their bento boxes are unique, and quite filling for a meal! I got the chicken kaarage bento which had the rice base, and around it, a veggie mix, egg, beef patty, seaweed & tempura! This was such a wide variety (: I absolutely loved their triangle kimbaps! My bf got one for us to share which was the tuna one. Such a great snack idea too. I loved them so much, I'd love to come back and get more! In long Yes, I still have a couple more bento places to get to around here. But we tried 5 different things last night and everything was amazing. The only possible quibble is that it took them a while to finish the order--yes, I was calling them "Slowmo Bento" in my head, but they DID actually put me right with an honest ETA when I ordered. So I was just being hungry and impatient. This is a Korean bento place, with multiple bimbap and triangle bimbap options. Best bimbaps we've tried around here. We loved everything we tried--the tempura was a great lineup. Spicy chicken bowl I'm always in the mood for spicy teriyaki and could probably stand to branch out now and then, but this was rad. Lots of crunchy fresh veg around the white meat. I skipped the rice, but got a grain or two and it was chewy and delicious. They throw in a fried egg roll which was also great. Gyoza Ordered as a side dish. Bigger than the little pot sticker you get with the bento box. Chewier, thicker dough. Great filling. Nice side. Spicy pork bento Now we regret not getting the unagi for a couple bucks more, because this place clearly knows what's up in the kitchen. The pork was tasty and tender, there's rice there and some glass noodle salad. You get tons of banchan, including bacon-wrapped asparagus, of all things. Bento included prawn, green beans, and yellow squash. The potato croquette was out of this world--you can get those as a side. Bimbap Got both kalbi and veg. 8 big chewy slices in each order, along with some side veg. Wonderful flavors. I definitely want to try the more-adventurous options now. The place is small, on the ground floor of some nice-ish apartments on the way to the golf course. Kinda outta the way, but you seriously have to get in here. Very austere inside--clean and bright, but no art anywhere. A few drinks coolers, a TV with the menu, a few food pics on the counter. Sturdy mismatched tables and chairs. It has a friendly and spotless vibe, but it could use a little decor. Other than that, though, there is absolutely nothing whatsoever I'd change about any of it. read more

This business took over the space that used to be the Umami restaurant in the Bella Terra business/condo complex. They have a very simple menu, is a half dozen varieties of bento boxes. Prices hover around $20 for a bento box, which is actually around the market rate for a full bento box from other restaurants. Tonight I opted for the spicy pork bento and katsu bento. First, the spicy pork was very flavorful. Full warning, it's legit spicy, and I'm used to Korean spicy pork. I mixed it up with the rice and that helped to tame the spice level. The katsu was actually my favorite of the two. Super crispy and moist on the inside. This was probably the best katsu I've had in a long time. I was so impressed. The bento boxes come with an assortment of tempura. Shrimp, squid, potato, and a few other veggies. These were good and it came with a small container of tempura sauce for dipping. There was also a small portion of Korean glass noodles, japchae. This was very flavorful and I wished I had more of this instead of the salad, which was under the noodles. There was also a mixture of vegetables and bulgogi beef, in an almost pot roast style. This was a pleasant surprise. Overall, I'm very pleased and impressed with the quality of food and the portion size of these bento boxes. Portions were large; got filled up and had a good amount to take. Reminded me of a place back in the Bay, Sunnyvale to be exact...these Korean bowls over rice, with a healthy amount of veggies and protein. Delicious! If I'm in the area, I'm definitely coming back! I was house sitting next to this restaurant so me and my friend went in and had dinner. We didn't know what the items were on the menu so it really helped that they had pictures of things. The staff is super friendly and helpful in explaining. The portions were huge and the food was very fresh tasting. My friend got a bento box that had like five different items in it. The people at Momo Bento are very kind and helpful, again like most other reviews, each item is crafted to detail so do not expect a speedy wait time. Everything in my bento box was so delicious and paired so well with each other, the chicken karaage was so crispy and delicious. I loooooove tempura and the bento even had some other things I didn't know were in it, like bacon wrapped asparagus. It is very minimalistic in the restaurant, no paintings or artwork on the walls. But it's still cozy and cute, and the atmosphere is inviting. There's room for seating and a whole drink wall, which the owners let us choose from because they said we waited so long. I felt so bad coming in at 8:30, but the woman working at the front assured us that it was okay to order, and that it would take a bit of time as they were backed up on orders. The dishes here are really good! My husband and I ordered the bulgogi bento, chicken karaage bento, and the galbi kimbap. Each component is made to order so it does take a bit of time but worth it in the end. We especially liked the sides in our bentos such as the croquette. SO GOOD. To the person who wrote that they were expecting modern Japanese food: you do realize that they had their menus displayed at the front? It would have been clear from first glance that they mostly serve Korean food and you could have walked away instead of leaving a 1-star review for a small business. Also in Korea, they call bentos, "dosirak". Maybe do some research before you start assuming bentos are only associated with Japan. read more

Well, been there before, i was here because of the Thai restaurant in front, but i saw the new restaurant in Mukilteo, so i give a try. Like the other reviews, this place is worth a visit. Momo Bento is a quaint restaurant in the heart of Harbour Pointe's Village Center. At the time of this review, the restaurant is just starting and the vibe is very open and welcoming. The people there are amicable and genuine. They are just starting off so their current offerings are limited. The price is a bit alarming but the food is of the highest quality. They are currently only serving premium bentos. Each bento comes with a main and many amazing sides that compete for the starlight. The food comforting like a home cooked meal with balance, nutrition, and a tide of flavours you can't say no to. It's both comforting and filling while also easy on the waistband. Be aware that premium comes at a price of ~$20 a bento. It's more than other places but you do get your money's worth. As a bigger guy that can eat, I have difficulty finishing a single bento completely. Each part of the bento works with each other and is extremely delicious in it's own right. Overall, this place has the best quality bentos I've had in all of Washington. They are pricey and their offerings are limited. At their current menu, I wouldn't be able to dine here often even though I wish I could. I view this place as some places I can splurge and feel great about what I get in return. As they become more established, I hope that they'll have items I can afford on a more frequent basis. More good things to come. I see another review in the not so distant future.
