They appear to be a partnered business with the Crockett Street Bottle Shop next door and local, and as the Bottle Shop has kept me in indie beers for a bit, I'd have been remiss not to pop in and give Momma's a whirl when my threads up and went wrinkly. It's a pretty simple formula as one might imagine - a slender operating space, quick turn on dry cleaning (a day or same day in some cases), and it sounds like they do alterations too, though admittedly I've not tried to tweak any of my clothes that didn't just need to look more fab in the short term. I do have something that could use some alteration love, but I'll save speculation on how that might go should that bit come to fruition. In the mean time, I ran up against a closet full of threads that were looking like I slept in em and it was prime time to reboot the look without going shopping. Dry cleaning here without any special bells or whistles ran me about three and a half or so bucks and with the turn time, I'd use em again in a heartbeat. Convenient to my work, have never had a problem. I drop off my husband's clothes regularly for same-day service or next day pickup and have done so for three years. The ladies that work there are very friendly. The prices (for men's clothing) are reasonable. I've never had clothes altered there so I can only comment on the dry cleaning and laundry services which have always been good. I have gone to Mamma's Cleaners twice now, each time I have been in town on business. When I travel for work I need a place to drop off my clothes as I do not have time for laundry, and rarely have access to do it myself. Mama's cleaners was the only place I could find (being an out of town-er) that did wash and fold. The first time I took my clothes there all of my undergarments were great, but I also had them wash and hang my dress shirts (instead of dry clean). There was a tiny hole in the sleeve of one of my dress shirts that was brand new so I knew it was not there before I dropped it off (don't let this deter you, keep reading!). Most people would get super upset about this, but all things went great! I called Mama's cleaners and told them about the situation and the refunded me full retail for the shirt (which was only like $50) they had "ruined" (I feel bad saying ruined because it was only a tiny hole, but it could not be fixed and the shirt had to be replaced). The next time I was in town on business, approx 6 months later, I decided to take my stuff back to Mamma's Cleaners; despite the dress shirt incident of last time. I believe in second chances and they did a great job on everything else, they were super quick (same/next day), and very friendly people. Not friendly at all. I brought in a suit and two dresses and the employee gave me a receipt with one price and when I came to pick them up she charged me a whole different amount that was much more because she "messed up". I didn't think that was okay because she knew what I dropped off. When I told her I didn't agree with that, she said she would go ask her boss so she went next door to the liquor store but if you've been here before you know you can hear everything that's going on next door so she starts talking to her boss about us as if we were dumb thinking we couldn't hear her. After she didn't help we went next door to speak to the owner and she was very rude saying she messed up and "oh well those are the prices" saying her employee made the mistake, but still expected me to pay the price? Below is the story- I took my clothes there for the first time last week because of the convenience since I live two blocks down, I usually take them to Ray's but I figured I'd try this place out. VERY BADDDD idea! So I go to pick them up Monday evening and I went to examine to see if this tiny spot on one of my silk blouses was removed and while examining for that, I see that there are massive stains ALL OVER my silk blouse! I check the other silk blouse- same thing. Massive stains all over! They refused to take responsibility but I refused to budge because I knew they were never there, I thoroughly examined my clothes before I took them there because they're my favorite blouses and I didn't want them ruined. After a very long time and seeing that they were looking bad in front of their other customers, they say they'll try to fix it for free (as if they were doing me a favor by undoing the damage they themselves had caused). Anyway, I go today to pick up the blouses and this angry lady is standing there (she later said she was angry bc of her foot pain- sure, great way to do customer service- take your anger out on your customers!!). I wanted to examine my clothes before getting out of there and she freaks out. She asks, "why are you checking your clothes so closely?" Yes, her exact words. She wanted me to not find the damage they caused the second time. I tell her the stains are still there, and she tells me I had caused them. The balls of this woman! I was absolutely shocked! They were never there when I brought my clothes in. She goes back into her office with my blouses in her hand, I am standing there infuriated that this owner just called me a liar and said she will not take responsibility for ruining my very expensive and favorite silk blouses. She tells me to leave and threatens she'll call the cops. I say no thank you, I tell her I will call them myself, that this is absolutely ridiculous! So I call and the cops say they won't show up; of course, they have better things to do. She comes back and says she checked and they told her they had caused the stains ("they" being their cleaners). YUP! Imagine that. She called me a b*t*h, a liar and that my blouses already had stains when I brought them in, then she comes back saying yes they caused the stains. No sh*t, sherlock! Oh yeah, and they have roaches around. She told me to take a seat, I said, "I will not sit there, there are roaches," to which she replies, "Then go sit in your car." Yup, her exact words. Oh also, when I dropped my clothes off, I asked if they will take responsibility if my clothes get ruined and pay the price of the clothes they damage, guess what the answer was then?! Yes. And after they ruined them, guess what the answer was? "You brought them in with the stains." That pretty much explains the deceitful business they run here. All this time she was more concerned about me not exposing their horrendous services by telling the other customers we are amazing, please don't listen to her, etc etc. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! THEY WILL RUIN YOUR CLOTHES, TELL YOU THE DAMAGE WAS ALREADY THERE, AND CALL YOU NASTY NAMES. GO TO RAY'S DOWN THE STREET- they're exactly what this place is not!! I told her I will write a review on the internet and she said, "She'll reply." Uhhh...how? What are you going to say? You're the dry cleaners, you take responsibility for the damage YOU cause to MY clothes. AND if YOU damage my clothes while they're under your possession- guess what? I WILL get upset. This is the only place that I take my laundry! Not only is the staff incredibly kind and accommodating, but they're honest as well. From what I know, Momma's is family owned and operated and truly care about the surrounding community. My clothes look brand new and absolutely perfect every single time I pick them up. I also love the convenience of location and speed of service. I simply drop off my laundry before work and pick them up after (along with a bottle of wine from their Bottle Shop next door). Twice I've gotten home with the wrong shirts. The first time I threw the shirt away because I thought I was just going crazy. The second time it happened I knew something was up. I took the wrong shirt back and the manager said, "this is going to be tuff to figure out". So, I left the shirt there and never heard anything back from them. After over a week with numerous messages left with other employees who said they would relay my message, I ended up having to go up there. Again, the manager or owner was extremely rude, basically saying I was lying. Never take your clothes here unless you don't care to receive the correct clothing back! The lady that works late is super nice but ownership/management is a joke. The only reason this place is still in business is because of the location. They have basically stolen over $160 worth of shirts from me! read more

As I find myself in the search for a new dry cleaner closer to the office, and read the reviews online, I'm reminded of how terrible Momma's is, and must echo the sentiments of prior posters who encourage you to avoid it. Momma's was the first dry cleaner I used when moving to Fort Worth. The customer service was tolerable, but not great, and the prices seemed reasonable. Then I had them replace a zipper on a jacket, which they had sent out to be done. When I got it back, they had replaced the zipper on my hand-embroidered, one-of-a-kind, lightweight jacket with a giant, industrial zipper. In the process, the seamstress had ripped several sections of the jacket, and completely stretched out the lapel and hems. I expressed my frustration to the counter clerk, and then waited for a call from the owner, which never came. I called them back only to find that they'd sent my jacket back to the exact same place that had ruined it to have it "fixed" - without ever consulting me to see what kind of remedy I wanted. That's when the true nature of the owner shone through - she was one of the nastiest, most disrespectful people I've ever encountered in a service situation. Oh, and the coat was damaged beyond repair - I've not been able to wear it since. Not only will I never return to Momma's I also won't shop at the bottle shop next door, because they don't deserve any of my business. read more

Like a few others have stated, this place doesn't know how to take care of nice clothes. For a basic men's button down, they're fine. But for anything silk or nicer fabric, they basically cook it. Loss of color, wrinkles...basically make a new blouse look 10 years old. I'll stick with Kite's and pay a little more to keep my clothes nicer. read more
