Yesterday morning before 8:30 I took a suit jacket and a pair of pants of my wife's there and told the woman I need them back yesterday and she assured me they would be ready for pick up at 5 yesterday. I got there at 5:15 and was told they weren't ready and wouldn't be ready until today. I told the woman who I guess is a manager who took over the communication with me from the first woman I was talking with when I got there at 5:15 that my wife needed the clothes for an executive photo that she was taking today and I would need the outfit first thing this morning and that she would be living the house at around 8. She said the woman who took in the outfit DIDN'T mark them additionally as "SAME DAY SERVICE", yet she had told me they would be back for pickup at 5 on yesterday! As I waited yesterday the woman looked and found the jacket and said it would just need pressing in the morning, but she couldn't find the pants among all of the carts of clothes to be worked on, but that the presser would be there a little before 7 this morning and that she would be there at 6:45 this morning and find the pants. I told her that because the outfit was new and hadn't ever been worn they could just press the pants as well. She said ok. She said she would certainly call me first thing this morning, and that the outfit would be done by 7:15, and 7:30 at the latest!!! I also told her she could text me at the same number listed in my file. She said ok, that she would either call or text me. Well, I didn't get a call or text. Not at 7:15...not at 7:30...not at 7:45...not at 8, 8:15, 8:30 OR 8:45!!! So, at 8:46 I called and asked what happened and WHY HADN'T I got a call at all. The woman who had promised that the outfit would be done and that she would call me said, "Things got away from me with having to get everyone started on their work...and that the pants were in the cleaning process and wouldn't have been out for 45 minutes, but everything is ready now." I told her that it was 8:46 and that it was too late for my wife and that she had left!!! I asked again why didn't I get a call as I was promised, even to tell me the outfit wouldn't be ready at 7:30? She said she was busy set up the workers for the day and things just got away from her. I simply was dumbfounded and said ok and we hung up. At the prices that they as a custom cleaners and laundry this is HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! This is the THIRD CLEANERS THAT WE'VE HAD A PROBLEM WITH! One high priced cleaners completely destroyed a blouse or my wife's that was custom made in Rome, Italy and cost FOUR FIGURES! One has on numerous occasions returned clothes, wrinkled, stained, burned and ruined. Seam was coming undone when I picked it up and jeweled were falling off. The wedding dress was altered too far from where we originally pinned it in trying it on, I don't know what she was thinking. The way it was done, it's not able to be let out and not only am I out $260 for terrible alterations, I am out a wedding dress and having to buy another one. I will not be using Ray's for alterations ever. She offered to fix it because "they're committing to fixing it," but I would never let her touch it again if the first go around was so off the mark. read more

Last week I made my annual trek to Ray's Custom Cleaners & Laundry to drop off my Santa suits. I am a Santa in the non-profit sector. Us Santa's are VERY particular where we get our suits dry cleaned. The cleaner has to be experienced in the cleaning and care of a premium velvet Santa suit. In past years another cleaner ruined one of my suits and turned the white faux fun a light shade of pink. You can see why us Santas are particular which dry cleaners we use. Ray's has never let me down. I fact several of my "real bearded" Santa buddies use Ray's as well. Today when I picked up my suits, they looked beautiful perfectly cleaned and ready to be stored. I can put them up knowing they were cleaned properly and will be ready when I need them. An extra bonus, Ray's staff is so helpful and personable. Even though I live on the east side of Ft. Worth, I may just have to start bringing my shirts to Ray's for laundering and starching. Ray's lost my husband's brand new $300+ tux shirt that he wore on our wedding day. We hadn't used them again until this week, when I dropped off the dress for my brother's rehearsal dinner this weekend. It was a brand new dress so it only needed to be pressed. I dropped it off yesterday at 8:30 AM and they said it would be ready after 5 today. I called earlier today to make sure it would be ready after 5 and was assured it would be. It wasn't. They did absolutely nothing to it and couldn't find it for a few minutes. I leave tomorrow at 4 AM for my brother's wedding out of town and my dress looks the same as it did when I dropped it off. This was the last straw and we won't be using Ray's again. Seems like they drop the ball when things are most important. These weren't the only two instances and we won't be back! Total scam show. Girlfriend dropped off a dress needing two buttons replaced. They say 10$, ok. We come to pick up 5 days later and all of a sudden there's a rush fee added to the order bringing the total to a frankly comical amount to replace two buttons. Store workers played stupid when asked to speak to a manager. Refused a refund. It's illegal to charge a customer for a fee that was not disclosed prior to agreed purchase amount. Stay far away. My second trip to Rays was just as great as the first! I picked up my pants I had left for alterations. They called and told me they were ready (two days early!) so I went up there, they had the pressed pants waiting for me when I arrived! They suggested I try them on to make sure I was happy. i tried them on and bingo! they nailed it! Not so good. We did use them for awhile. Then one of my husband's shirts came back with a rip in the sleeve. The following week, another shirt came back with a rio in the same place. Reported it to management. They said "send photos." We did and they never got back to us. Also used the alterations at the Camp Bowie location. Hemmed 4 pairs of pants for my husband. The seamstress that works the evenings did an amazing job. She asked how soon we needed the job completed and was willing to work with a tight timeline. Although we appreciated the offer for quick service, we were not in a rush. Even with that, she finished the job in a week. The lines were clean and she was delightful to work with. I went to Ray's to get a formal dress altered/dry cleaned, and they told me an initial price. It was more expensive than other places I had seen, but I brushed it off and assumed it was because their quality of work was better. I came back a week later to pick it up, and the price they had originally told me had almost doubled when it was time to pay. I was completely mislead by the staff. They also would not let me try on my dress to make sure the alterations were correct. I have now dropped more money on altering it than the dress was originally worth. I brought in clothing twice to Ray's cleaners for dry cleaning. The first trip one shirt did not come back but I got notification a few days later that it had shown up. The second time I took cleaning in I went back to have one shirt missing and two pairs of starched jeans missing. I saw the shirt hanging on a back rack and was able to get that back, however they were unable to locate the two pair of jeans. I was told I would be contacted and the situation would be resolved. After multiple attempts to get the situation resolved and being told multiple times that the owner would review the tapes and give me a call back, no resolution has occurred. Unfortunately, I spent $75 on the second trip to only now be out two pairs of jeans. I would not recommend unless you can get them to give you a written record of what you are dropping off, without that you are likely to return to missing items. read more

I didn't understand why as all I got was the dress shortened. do not go here its so so unorganized, the first time i went they lost all my boyfriends suits and dress shirts and we had to spend over 2 hours comparing photos and brands and sizes trying to pick them out from the back (keep in mind with the brands the clothing is and how much of it there was thats about 3-4k worth in clothing). We only came back a second time because they offered us 20% off our next visit and almost all my boyfriends clothes are dry clean only, they lost our stuff AGAIN i've had to take two trips trying to pick everything out again.. I don't know where to begin with how bad this place is. I took 3 dresses here to be cleaned. A day later I get a call from the manager saying they ruined my dress and it will cost $14 to fix. First thing dry cleaning is supposed to be gentle and not ruin clothes. Secondly why would I have to pay for something they ruined. When I went to pick the clothes up they then informed me that there were 3 stains they couldn't get out. It cost me 48.50 for three dresses plus 14.00 to fix the one they ruined I should have went to Upper West Cleaners like my wonderful husband suggested. He is always right :/ read more

I decided to try a new cleaners, closer to home, since my regular place is a slight drive. The customer service at Ray's is great, but they ruined a nice dress I dropped off. I received a call two days after my drop off letting me know my dress was ruined by their machine and that they could not fix it. Speaking as someone who loves nice and somewhat expensive clothing, I was very upset that this dress was ruined in their facility. The dress is no longer made by this company, so when replacing it, I had to get a dress that was "similar", but far from the same. Needless to say, I will not be back to Rays with any item more than $200 dollars. I don't trust their care OR machines. read more
