Some of the most delicious soup filled dumplings in the area. All hand made and cooked fresh, it's really great. Some of the regular dumplings have a bit of a hard time staying together but still good. Although I wasn't necessarily a fan of the large meat bun dumplings because they were too doughy, the flavour was on point. They also have a variety of other food to from noodles to snacks to wing. On the point of wings, I found they light and crispy. Really great texture. However they were kind of on the oilier side. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Overall, a great dumpling place in this plaza. A nice addition to the neighborhood.

We came on a Sunday afternoon. The place is spacious but I did felt like it's a bit cramped. The tables are a little too close to each other and seating wasn't exactly comfortable. As for the food, we ordered their signature Fresh Pork Pan Fried Buns, Juicy Pork Burger, Shumai and their Sauerkraut and beef sweet potato noodle and a variety of cold appetizers including tripe, pork intestines, bean curds and pig ear. Everything was pretty good. the tripe was covered in sesame paste and was quite good but It was a tad bit too salty for my liking. The Shumai had a sticky rice and bamboo shoot filling which I thought was quite unique. It was soft and the bamboo shoot added texture and tang to it. It was a bit blind but I didn't mind that at all. The noodle soup was also great. The Sauerkraut created a tangy soup base with a bit of spice and I really enjoyed the sweet potato glass noodles. I will say my absolute favorite dish was their juicy burger and pan fried buns which is what they are known for. Both were crispy and was packed with fatty, juicy pork. Overall, this place is great for a cheap and delicious meal! I will say this location is MUCH better than their downtown location.

We've been to this location twice now, and the food and service are consistently great! Flora, the manager, and Yani, our server, are beyond amazing, which is rare and unheard of for Asian restaurants! The décor inside is cute, colorful, and bright! The dishes are all reasonably priced, and under $10. The first time we visited, we wanted to try everything, and ordered way too much for two people (9 items)! On our second visit, we stuck with 5 items and left feeling very full. Ordering is via a QR code, or you can choose regular menus. I always put notes on the items we order, and the kitchen staff always accommodates! Weekends are extremely busy, so be prepared to wait. The plaza has ample parking, and we often combine our visits with a trip to the huge Asian grocery store (Asia Foodmart) and a visit to a good bakery (Aromaz). They accept all forms of payment, and I have to repeat myself by saying that Yani and Flora are AWESOME! If you visit, please tell them Ruby says hello! Tips: Order the pork chop on the side (noodle soup), so it stays crispy. Tea is complimentary, and it's decaf (roasted rice)! First Visit: -Braised Pork Pan-Fried Buns -Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings -Classic Beef Noodle Soup -Braised Beef Noodle Soup -Sweet Chili Flavor Chicken Wings -Chinese Scallion Pancake -Sweet Soy Milk -Light Soy Milk -Mango Sago Dessert Second Visit: -Mom's Special Steamed Pork Dumplings -Fresh Pork Pan-Fried Dumplings -Sweet Chili Flavor Chicken Wings -Tomato Flavor Noodle Soup with Pork Chop -Classic Beef Noodle Soup

Wow! This place is GOLD. It will be on our regular "food roster". So impressed. The suçai bao were exceptional. The menu is extensive and I was seriously impressed with the food offerings. They offer a combination of dim sum and traditional Northern Chinese cold side dishes. This is the next pre-grocery shopping destination for us.

I've heard a lot of good things so finally was able to come by. Clean and modern interior. The menu can be accessed by QR code and they have physical copies as well. They're known for their pan fried buns. We tried the braised pork filled ones and they were plump and juicy! The xlb skins were on the thicker side but still fine. Nice and soupy. We also tried the hand pulled dry noodles which had the perfect chewy texture I was hoping for. The green onion pancakes were insanely thin. I enjoyed them a lot more than I expected because they were so crispy. Lastly, the chive and egg pockets were again, a little on the thinner side but the filling was just right in terms of flavour and quantity. Prices were extremely reasonable. Service was pretty good as she transitioned between Mandarin and English fluently. I'd come back!

Always go for the dumpling. Dumpling or bun are all good. They are better than noodles. Service is fast. They also serve the fried chicken wings. It is a casual restaurant. It can be pretty busy . although the parking have a lot of space it is usually packed.

Went to try the Full House Combo, which was a special for $38.99 for only month of June. If you are looking for a great deal, Moms' Pan Fried is a great place for you. Along with full house combo, its menu items are truly affordable and known for their hot and fresh pan-fried buns. For the Full house combo, it includes 1) Pan-fried buns 2) Fried Chicken wings - (crispy and ten flavours to choose from) 3) Noodle Soup - Choice of Tomato Pork Chop or Braised Beef - (We ordered braised beef as it was beef was tender with a strong beef soup base) 4) Steamed Pork Soup Dumplings - (hot dumplings with steamed pork, rich with pork soup) 5) Pumpkin pie with red bean paste/ spring rolls 6) Sweet Soy Milk or Coke - Ordered the Soy milk Overall, the food and service were very quick. It has a clean, newly renovated, bustling atmosphere, perfect for quick meals or just craving Taiwanese/ Shanghainese foods. Come check it out!

Every table gets an order of the pan-fried buns ($7.99 for 4) and since there's a constant rotation of them cooking, it's usually the quickest to arrive. With a choice of "fresh meat" or "braised", the fresh pork version is more traditional and didn't disappoint. With a thin steamed shell and well toasted bottom, each palm-sized bun had a decent meat-to-dough ratio and was fluffy and juicy. I'd pass on the Mom's special steamed pork soup dumplings ($5.99 for 6) as there's nothing special about them. In fact, the overly pulverized filling, thick wrapper, and non-existent soup makes these taste like the xiao long bao you'd find frozen at the supermarket. The pan-fried pork dumplings ($6.99 for 8) are better, at least the filling had the crumbly texture you'd expect from something made at a restaurant. Like the buns, they had a well toasted crust, but these seem to be pre-boiled and then pan-fried to order as while the wrapper was sizzling hot, the inside was lukewarm. Vegetable haters rejoice as Mom's Pan-Fried Buns is all meat and carbohydrates. The closest vegetable dish they have on the menu is the tomato flavour noodle soup with fried pork chop ($9.99). While the menu describes the dish as having bean sprouts and antler mushrooms, none arrived in our bowl. Rather, it was heavy on the pork chop with a couple of bean curd sticks and cilantro to complement. I preferred the stronger flavours of the braised beef noodle soup ($9.99), which holds up against the soft chewy noodles. Once again, while there were plenty of bite-sized beef cubes, there wasn't much else other than bean curd stick. All in all, the noodles were fine but could really benefit from being served hotter and the actual noodles cooked less. The honey garlic fried chicken wings ($6.99 for 6) are surprisingly delicious with its uber crispy coating. I liked that the sauce was drizzled on, rather than tossing the wings in it, so there was just enough for flavour without being drenched. And thankfully, these were actually hot, making me want more after one crunchy bite. Their deep-fried rice cake with brown sugar syrup ($2.90 for 6) was also crispy and incorporates an airiness that's almost churro like. It's just a shame there's so little of the watery syrup that's served in a vessel built into the dish that makes it difficult to dip. They should just drizzle the sauce on top, like the chicken wings, to ensure they are better coated. Given you can self-order through a QR code at the table, I'd recommend ordering in batches to ensure the dessert comes after the meal. Our red bean paste pie ($3.50) was one of the first things to arrive so by the end of the meal the pastry was dry and cool. At least the red bean paste was thick and sugary, so it was well flavoured despite not containing much filling.

Coming here before noon is best time or else a long wait Tried the honey garlic wings today so yummy. They don't have the $9.99 combo deal but there menu price is reasonable not pricey This location had lots of parking, comfy seating and well air conditioned on a humid day. Eating in is so good

Checked out Mom's Pan Fried Buns Scarborough location today. The space is bright and vibrant which I really appreciated. We ordered the braised pork pan fried buns, the pork soup dumplings, spicy seaweed kelp, popcorn chicken and chicken pan fried dumplings. The dishes came out very quickly and all were fresh and yummy. Service was efficient and we left feeling pretty full. Overall yummy food, decent portions and good prices.

This is a decent place to stop at when you want some quick comfort food. All of the food that we ordered were decent. The dumplings and buns tasted good but had pretty thick wrappers/bready parts. The burger looked great but only tasted OK. The meat patty left a lot to be desired, but for the price it was actually a decent deal. The staff brought us tea (barley tea I think) as soon as we sat down which is nice. We also ordered by qr code which made things easy. The restaurant was pretty busy when we visited and the tables are located pretty close together. Overall, I would visit again if I happened to be nearby and was in a rush, but it wouldn't be somewhere I would go out of my way for.

A surprisingly good quick service restaurant. Tiny compact tables in a bright cheerful decor. Menus are on the QR code posted at two corners of each table. A printed menu is also available on request but viewing the menu through the QR code comes with photos of the foods. Food 4/5 Service 3.75/5 Ambience 3.75/5 Our food came out fast, hot and freshly made. Quick service. We did have to ask for our water to be refilled and empty plates to be removed, however the service was quick. Our favourite was the Mom's Steamed pork dumplings with soup, one of the best! We also ordered: - Honey garlic chicken wings. The batter was crispy and quite thick but still enjoyable. - Pan fried pork buns (4 to a plate) - Scallion pancake - Glass noodle soup with beef slices and pickled mustard. This soup had a kick and it was too spicy for me but my partner enjoyed the spiciness. This was a Sunday night at around 6:30pm. 10 minutes later there was a lineup for a table. The restaurant is one of several eateries in the plazas and parking is extremely busy in this section as there is also a large 24 hour Asian food store across from the restaurant. There is more parking available behind this restaurant strip.

I love Mom's Pan Fried Buns and visit often when craving fresh, affordable buns and dumplings. The interior is bright and inviting, with charming cartoon bun branding that adds a fun touch. Service is quick, and ordering via QR code right at your table makes the experience smooth. The prices are very reasonable (under $10), and the portion sizes are perfect for sharing. I'm thrilled they opened a second location in Scarborough! My top recommendations are the Braised Pork Pan-Fried Buns, Mom's Special Steamed Pork Soup Dumplings, Beef Pie, Mango Sago, and Wonton Soup. Everything I've tried is flavorful, fresh, warm, and juicy. On the downside, I wouldn't recommend the rice dishes as I found them lacking in flavor in past visits. Overall, Mom's Pan Fried Buns offers delicious, wallet-friendly eats with great service and a cozy vibe--definitely worth the wait. PRO TIP : Fridays and weekends can get busy, so I suggest joining the queue on the tablet in person, then browsing the nearby Asia Food Mart while you wait.

I was surprised that there was no line on a weekday during lunch time ~12:00, especially since other reviewers made mention of long wait times. I guess I was lucky. Anyway, since there was no line, I got my meal quickly. The soups are waiting in pots at the front, so the service is fast as they just need to scoop up your soup of choice. I got a small soup meal, so I was able to choose 2 sides from a collection of breads and fruits/veggies. I decided to go for the Moroccan Madness Vegetable Medley with sides of a multigrain ciabatta bun and apple. The soup was good, definitely fresh, flavourful, and better than your average canned soup, but I wasn't blown away. Plus, the meal was kind of pricey for what I got. For these reasons I only rated them as 3 stars. However, I'm really only basing my review on one out of many different soup options. Maybe some of the other flavours are better. I would go back to try a different soup.
