    Molokai' bread

I come visit a friend in Moloka'i and you can find me here every time I come back. The aunties working are the best. I love the different flavors. They stay true to them. Yummy bread, amazing service.

This really is the most quintessentially Molokai experience on the island. Wait until it's dark, and everything's closed. Then you'll take a turn down an alley to come to what used to be a pretty sketchy window. They have cleaned it up, thankfully. There will be a line of other people waiting for the hot bread. So you place your order and wait. There's one dish: hot bread. Pick one out more or all the toppings. Things like blueberry, cream cheese or cinnamon sugar. We picked strawberry, guava and butter. It was a good choice. I wish we had ordered taro for the real Hawaiian flavor. We finally got it, and it was pretty okay. It wasn't hot. It wasn't totally yummy. But it was the most Molokai thing you can experience on Molokai. And for that, we are grateful.

Morning view of Maui from Molokai.

Ordered the bread with mango and guava. Saved for breakfast. Amazing!! So fun to go the night before to purchase. You walk down a well lit alley and go to the takeout window. Very friendly and hard working ladies taking and preparing the orders.

A must do while in Molokai!!!! There are so many flavors. I went with butter with cinnamon and it was amazing!!! The bread is hot and soft. Had enough for breakfast the next morning!!! Served only at night. The people that work there are super friendly. Located down an alley you can see the lights on and smell the bread.

Our first time to Molokai hot bread won't be our last. We went after dinner on a Tuesday, which was pretty early in the evening. The surrounding area was like a ghost town, not a car or person in sight. We parked in front of the bakery and went down the alley until we saw the lights. There are a few tables and chairs so you can eat your hot bread on the spot if you like. We took ours home, a plain loaf and one filled with strawberry and cream cheese. They were amazing. Super light fluffy bread and tasty fillings.

Cinnamon cream cheese is always a must when traveling to Moloka'i. I'm quite surprised to see only one other review done. I'm sure everyone knows about this place. I remember as a little girl we had to come down at midnight through a sketchy alley to pick it up. They open at about 7pm now. You can pre order and pick up in the next morning or walk in. There are a bunch of tables and everyone around seems to respect the 6 foot distance rule. Since everyone is scattered and resting on the bench, just ask who you're after. It's a one woman operation. Please be kind and patient with her. Note that if you pick it up at night, the bread will be stacked in a paper bag. Aunty does not put it in a plastic bag due to the plastic bag ban. Just make sure you have gallon Ziploc bags to store them. Aside from my favorite cinnamon cream cheese, we picked up the guava cc, strawberry cc, and plain bread. Strawberry cream cheese is my next favorite. My grandma requested I pick up the Ube flavor but the she said maybe next month..bummers..

The cinnamon cream cheese is my favorite. It's like a cinnamon roll! Also, this is no longer the best kept secret so be prepared to wait and be patient. It's worth it, I promise!

Piping hot, always fresh and very tasty. Can't go wrong with hot bread at night for dessert or early breakfast. My personal favorite is blueberry cream cheese filling.

This place is an absolute must. We arrived at 7:30 when they opened. The bread was hot and delicious. We ordered one cinnamon, cream cheese, and butter. And, one cream cheese, and blueberry. It was way more food than we could eat but we wanted to try both of them. One loaf could feed an entire family. The ladies helping us were very friendly. One would never expect that this place exists down a dark alley. Its there....find it!!!

This was truly and experience so a must do if you are on Molokai, partially as it's one thing you can do right after sunset. Enter through the back alley there is an opening to a dimly lit alley. You'll see a simple counter wher "auntie" will take your order. I recommend one maybe two loaves as the are huge!!! Most popular flavor is cinnamon, butter and cream cheese.

Molokai Hot Bread is in the back alley way next to the bakery in the town center. It is an unique experience, getting your bread, at night, at a takeout window, packed in a grocery paper bag. It is hot, fresh, sweet and buttery. It taste good, but stayaway if you are a health nut, or make an exception if you landed on Molokai. Not much going on here, and Molokai Hot Bread is one of the few things that are unique and worth a try.

Park on Ala Malala Ave. and walk down hotel lane and it's about 2-3 minutes down the road on the left. Extremely fresh and delicious! The woman making the bread was so friendly and had great suggestions. We had the ube and cream cheese and cinnamon and butter and it did not disappoint. Definitely recommend and will be back!

My favorite, Cinnamon and Cream Cheese. Can easily feed 4. They take all orders (that are waiting) before they start adding ingredients.

We had the Nutella and the Lilikoi, and they are absolute units--massive, beautiful and perfectly executed. The pastry is light and incredibly fluffy, but stays dense and decadent because they don't skimp on the filling (it's actually in the center, not just a garnish on top!). The Lilikoi was a total standout--bright, fresh, and perfectly tart. I found myself breaking off the flaky layers just to dip them into that golden center. If they sold it in jars, I'd be the first in line. If you're looking for the best bakery on the island, this is it! XOXO, ChelsieFletcher

I've never had the cube croissant before so perhaps this is just the style of them. I liked the guava filling but thought the cube croissant part was okay. It did seem like this one had more dough than filling. - Lilikoi Croissant (between $6 and $7) - I found that this croissant was not really flaky. There was a really good filling to croissant ratio in this one. However, I did appreciate the strength of the lilikoi flavor in this croissant, and the filling did taste fresh. - Macadamia Nut Latte ($6.85)- we both got ours iced, 12 ounce and with regular milk. We honestly enjoyed these lattes more than the croissants. The macadamia flavor came through quite strong (in a good way) and was pretty unique. There is a small parking lot and lots of seating inside. We saw a couple chickens wandering around outside when we grabbed our pastries.

I really like that I can select from the old world German Artisan collection and the Hawaiian Artisan baked goods. I snagged the Isabelle, a loaf of bread made of spelt (dinkel wheat, high in protein, fiber, and antioxidants) and rolled in an assortment of seeds.
