What a great little spot in the main part of town on Molokai. This is the one spot that opens bright and early in the morning. Pop in for lots of variety in regard to hot and cold, coffee and teas. The sandwiches for breakfast and lunch are equally delightful. And the friendly staff and towns people are just lovely. I highly recommend this spot. read more

I needed my morning fix and lo and behold, here I am. AMBIANCE: Parking: It's downtown of Molokai so there is plenty of parking however since it's small there's a little hustle and bustle here with locals and tourists. Seating: There is no inside seating due to COVID-19 but there's outdoor seating shaded with umbrellas. Feels: Downtown Molokai is a small-time feel so don't expect anything too flashy. It has all your simple needs from a bakery, grocery store, gas station, and such. The spot itself is pretty neat. I enjoyed the Island music they were playing. FOOD: Aloha Latte (Recommend) There subtle mix of chocolate, Hawaiian coffee beans, espresso, and macadamia nuts. A refreshing delight to give you a good kick in the morning. I was working on Molokai the other day, and being that I had to get up pretty early to catch the 1st flight out (I got up at 4:00 AM), by the time it was in the afternoon, I started to drag. What do you do? But of course you look for a place where you can get a good jolt of coffee! Let's see now.........where's the nearest - Starbucks, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Island Vintage Coffee, or Honolulu Coffee Company? Whoops! I forgot I was on a remote island! Lol! No worries gang, because I found a little gem of a coffee shop here on the friendly isle........... it called the - "Hula Bean Cafe". Located in Kaunakakai town, you can find this little cafe just across the street from Misaki's Supermarket, on Mohala Street. Unfortunately during the Covid-19 pandemic, I couldn't physically go inside of the Hula Bean Cafe to look around, & lounge. Just for now, Hula Bean Cafe is only open for "take out". Besides offering great drinks here, Hula Bean Cafe also serves up a few food items like - breakfast sandwiches, gourmet sandwiches, paninis, desserts, muffins, scones, acai bowls, & pretzels. As for me, I was just looking for a strong cup of coffee, and upon looking over their coffee drinks, I decided to get a 12 oz. Americano drink. What can I say about my Americano? It was the perfect drink to give me a jolt of energy when I needed it the most!!! I drank it black, no cream...........it was very strong, so strong that I felt my chest sprouting hairs! Buwahahahahaha! Well maybe not! Lol! So glad Molokai has a locally owned coffee shop where you can get a good cup of Joe! The Hula Bean Cafe was a nice, quick breakfast option on Molokai. I had a mac nut latte and an egg and cheese waffle sandwich, which was fun! My friend had a cold brew with pumpkin spice foam and a turkey pesto panini. Our total was about $40, which was a bit high for breakfast, but we had plenty of food and the coffee was great. Service was pretty quick - we called from the cafe table out front and placed our order, it was ready in ~15 minutes. read more

I was on Molokai for three days and I ate here THREE times. Located conveniently in town with plenty of parking, this place is the perfect stop for a meal, a cold drink or a light snack. The staff was super friendly and helpful while we were trying to decide what to order. I had a few of their items but my favorites are: lilikoi/cream cheese hot pretzel, breakfast pesto panini and the kale/banana/strawberry smoothie. YUM. Seriously, you cannot go wrong. I took my smoothie to the beach and it was so perfectly refreshing. Lots of room to sit inside and there are fun trinkets and light packages snacks for purchase. There's also magazines on the counter to look at while eating. Another tip: they are open on SUNDAY! Not many places on Molokai are open on Sunday! This is a DEF stop when you're on Molokai. An amazing place. Can see why they are almost five stars. Their items are pretty expensive. Got their smoothie that had kale, mango, banana, and some other stuff and tasted so amazing! The flavors were sweet, tasty, and refreshing. The smoothie is worth getting. Just a note, you can get boba but they have a limited supply. My friend got it and said was good, but I can't say if was good or not because I haven't gotten to try it. Also got a French dip sandwich that comes with chips, and wow the flavors and eating it blew my mind. This is also something worth getting. This place was so good, we also decided to go back for breakfast for a egg, bacon, and cheese crescent sandwich. With the sandwich I got a caramel latte and the this coffee flavors and coffee were amazing. Really great place and I highly recommend this place! read more

An amazing place and one of the few cafes on Moloka'i to get your coffee needs! I tried the Hula Frape with Mac Nut in it and it was sure delicious and refreshing! I came here every morning for my coffee while on island for a week. For the most part the staff was friendly. A mask is required to go to the window. Even though there is a sign saying phone orders only, they always took my order at the window. Medium cup of black coffee flavored is $6.25. Nothing like Kona coffee! read more

We went here twice for coffee. The Aloha latte with macadamia nut and espresso shots was very delicious. It was very smooth and had a great flavor to it. We also try just the regular hot coffee in it too was freshly brewed and had a great flavor. We enjoyed stopping in here for coffee. We also tried iced latte and it was very good as well. I would recommend the aloha latte or a regular coffee. One of the few specialty coffee shops we found. read more

This is the ONLY place on Molokai to get a latte, as far as I know! They have non-dairy milk options (soy and almond, at least) and pretty good espresso, making for a pretty yummy latte. Be warned that the drinks come with one shot to start, instead of the usual double, so you have to pay extra for more shots. Our two lattes ran us $20, which seems high but we're on Molokai! They could consider adding a plant-based meal option to the menu. The woman working the counter here both times we went was an absolute sweetheart. read more

I hit this place up a lot during my 1 week stay. Not too many other places with healthy meals. Very good panini. The Tuna salad looked tiny, pretty much just tuna tomato and lettuce but if you dump it into a plate it looks like a good amount. The panini's are bomb fo sho!! You can get for breakfast or lunch.
