I've always driven by and it's always packed. I'm sad I've waited so long to try their food. It was a Friday night. I ordered a large margarita pizza to go. The wait was 35 minutes which is longer than most places, but I didn't mind it. And I actually kind of expected it. Their pizza was massive first of all. I was not expecting it to be as big as it was! I am so glad I started with such a classic pizza. If you can perfect a margarita pizza, then the rest of your food must be just as good if not better. Their crust was soft but slightly salty. The sauce was sweet and the bufala mozzarella was salty but not too salty. And of course the basil was a perfect touch. I just left this place extremely frustrated. I placed an order online for pickup. I called before I placed the order but no one was picking up ( that should have been a sign but I continued ordering). The order was to be ready for 7:08pm. I finally get through on the phone. I ask whether my food is ready because it was close to 7. The place street is busy so sometimes you have to double park. She tells me it should be ready in 10 mins. Long story short it's 7:15 and my food is still not ready and the lady is telling me 5 more mins. Finally I go up and tell them to just give me the pizza and for a refund for the pizza but the pizza isn't even ready. She hands me my food at 7:23pm. What made me ever more frustrated is she gives the two customers before me free appetizers because they had to wait such a long time but when it comes to me all I got was a sorry. Today I ordered from Molinaris in dorchester Ma When I say upset let me tell you why..The Host and wife of the Top Chef was rude. I checked in was asked to step out...I'm feeling like because of the color of my skin she put me out and not everyone who was caucasian had to leave...Also no mask on their face may I add. As I Wait the Main Chef comes out not with my food but to basically talk to me about the situation as if he was putting me down in front of people in the line.Ive come to this place to eat multiple times but to be treated so poorly was terrible. Great neighborhood location. Beer - wine on menu etc. Open kitchen so may observe food being prepared. Helpful staff. Generally the pasta served is not fresh. Hence the $2 mark up for "fresh homemade pasta" Also for the portions .. some of the entree's are a little overpriced (ex Bolognese). All and all not bad. We stopped in for lunch. Would not recommend or come back. We ordered the Brussel sprouts and Italian wedding soup to start. Brussel sprouts were mixed with sausage and dry. The soup was good but had way too much spinach which made it hard to eat. I ordered the pork chop which was flavorful but it was so well done and tough. Great pizza, friendly service, just a tad slow. Ordered a classic margarita with extra cheese and a pesto pizza. Both were excellent, best pizza I've had in this area. On the lighter/less oily side. ~75 percentile in quality. Margarita had buffalo mozzarella, very creamy and flavorful, with a richer, smoky marinara. Pesto cheese pizza was served with fresh burrata on top, which was very subtle and enjoyable. Only drawback was that the food took a while to make, and the server took his time in attending to us(it wasn't very busy), but service was friendly and high quality when delivered. Pizzas are served with pickled peppers on the side which were unexpectedly good. Overall highly recommend a visit if in the area. read more

This is some of the best Italian food I've had in a long time! It was so good, we came back the next day to eat again. They make fresh pasta that melts in your mouth and a sauce that was so flavorful. They also had roasted wings with rosemary and garlic. But the highlight was the pizza, it was do delicious! I ordered lobster scampi, the lobster claws were small and there were hardly knuckles it was good, but extra good when I added some parmigiana cheese from home. Best eggplant parmigiana I have ever had. I am spoiled now and will never make eggplant again. The only problem is that I live in Ca. and I don't know when I can return. Really was expecting better. The pizza is VERY GOOD. Great menu and a very nice waitress. Their sauce has way to many spices in it, almost felt like I was looking at a jar of Prego. Pasta dishes were average to slightly above average. The menu has such great potential so I will probably give it a second chance. But please when it comes to your sauce, less is more. This restaurant is a gem! If you haven't been here, try it at least once, and it'll become one of your go-to places. How does it not have 5 stars?! Worth a little drive too! Stumbled on this looking for a quick pizza coming back to Boston from the Cape. Great pizza, but so much more. A full menu of Italian specialties made with such artistry and care, you'd think you've never tasted real Italian food before. We sat at the counter overlooking the kitchen, and watched the chef and owner Jeffrey prepare the meals. He took time to explain the recipes and processes (like the difference between a Marinara and a Pomodoro sauce...), and has so much passion for what he does - it was more like having dinner with an old friend (who can cook very well!) UPDATE: Molinari's still has delicious pizza, there's no doubt about it - it's a pretty unique spot in Dorchester. The conflict that I have with this restaurant is the wait time...for a pick-up order. The point of ordering ahead is that you don't have to wait for your food to be cooked. The quoted pick-up time is usually 20-25 min after the online order is placed. I go there and then I end up having to wait anyway. The last two times that I went, I had to wait 35 min once and another time approximately 20 min - and that is on top of the 20-25 min quoted time online. Why does this happen? Well, I like a little char but I always order my pizzas with "lightly cooked" option as I find Molinari's signature char to be too much. Unfortunately, lightly cooked is a tough temperature with their wood oven and so they've had to redo my pizzas the last couple times. So I end up waiting. :( Not a great experience. The owner is a nice guy and provided some complimentary cannolis. But, I rather have a pizza ready for me when I get there. Usually, a repeat experience like this means minus a couple stars but I know the owner reads Yelp reviews and will work on getting it right. Updates to come! read more

I placed an order at 5:51 PM and got a receipt saying, "Please arrive no earlier than your pick-up time, your order will be ready for you at your designated time." It's actually hard to find decent pizza on the southern outskirts of Boston, so for the immediate area this place is pretty good. They offer unique, but not outlandish, pie combinations, as well as build-your-own options...they also have legitimate pasta dishes. We've tried their meatballs, vodka sauce, and bolognese - all delicious, with decent portions. The staff is friendly during both eat-in and takeout experiences, they've even been the only eatery braving a snowy night so we could fuel our Netflix marathon.
