I have been using Mole Busters for several years. I have a monthly service, which has never been missed. My neighbors on bother sides has gopher farms and the repellent has kept them away from my yard. On the rare occasion when one of them gets through, one email and they are here the next day. Unbelievable, unprofessional. When I called to schedule a consultation appointment last week for mole problem, the person answered the call provided me an appointment for the following Wednesday on 9/15 at noon, then on Monday I received a text to confirm the appointment on Wed with the Martin Lopez from 5pm-5:30pm instead, I keep the appointment, on the day of the appointment Martin didn't show up! when I call their phone number, it was answered by the after hour answering service, the person asked for my information and reason of my call that I have an appointment scheduled and Martin didn't show! Then I got a text message stating Martin is on route at 6:13pm, I had to call back and again answered by the answering service, I need to provide my info again and stating I am not home and they can't just text and stating on route after 45 minutes late? The funny part is the next day I got the text message again stating the appointment ticket has finished and love my feedback! all this automation text message does not make sense, and not even a phone call from a live person to call to apologize or reschedule, the whole experience was so frustrated and unbelievable. I wasted my whole evening yesterday on this company. read more

I had a severe mole infestation about two years ago. After 6 weeks the infestation had been eliminated. After about 1 year I had some very small round holes in my lawn. John came out And confirmed that I had new infestation of Voles. I took about 3 weeks to stop the infestation with no damage to the backyard landscaping. We hired Molebusters 3 years ago after we had our yard re-landscaped and the moles found the soft-mulched soil a perfect feeding ground and started tearing it up. They took up residence under a flagstone patio throwing up hills. John explained how they would deal with the acute problem, but that moles would keep coming back from neighboring properties and also because our property was attractive. That is why it is a service, not a single visit. Besides the regular service they come out within a day or two if I call about a new infestation. The moles are much-much better, but never 100% gone. The spring is especially busy time for their return, but molebusters comes out when we ask. Even if it is once a week. I would like to see their answering service provider improved, and a better form explaining the work they do on a call would do wonders for them. I think the reviewer AB C may have some unrealistic expectations that were not met. The service is not that expensive compared to the landscape job we are protecting. There are also some positive reviews that were filtered, I'm not sure why just this one negagtive one is unfiltered. read more

Awful. I had a mole or gopher problem that needed immediate attention. Molebusters was one of the few rodent remediation businesses that was open on a weekend, so I took advantage and scheduled an appointment on a Tuesday at 8am. I took the day off of work, so I could review, discuss and understand the problem with them. By 8:20, nobody had come so I called. They use an answering service, so good luck finding anybody who knows the company calendar, schedule, rates or generally anything about the business. Since it was just an answering service, the operator had no idea what was going on and took down all of my information. As of 9:30, I had not heard from anybody so I called again. I got a new operator - I expressed my disappointment and she was very apologetic. But I again I got nowhere. Molebusters did not contact me to explain, apologize or reschedule. I am so annoyed that I wasted any time on this company. Good thing I had backup estimates scheduled, who actually showed up and who will get my business. As you can see from older reviews, the problems I had with them are not new. They've been good n on for at least two years so...yeah. Don't use them. Try advanced IPM. They actually showed up. read more

One of the challenges with rating a company that deals with moles, voles and gophers is it take repeated, regular treatments to keep them away. I thought I'd stop my service when they stopped digging up my back yard, only to have them return in a few months. Once I restarted the service, they went away and stayed away. This is NOT like a termite treatment where you get your home serviced once and you're done. You have to keep up the treatments since they WILL come back. John's service is exceptional and he's a great guy who also served our country in the Military. I will continue to give John and Mole Busters my business in the future. read more

I paid them for over 6 months and called 3 or 4 times after moles appeared and they came out out 3 times. On 4th call I did not get a call back and called 2 more times. I cancelled service and then got a call back. Still cancelled as they could not get rid of moles. I paid 95 dollars per month and after more than 6 months I had moles. I do not think it works. He responded quickly when I first called him and, over the course of several weeks, has treated my lawns so that they are now pest-free. John is professional and efficient. John was extremely knowledgeable and professional. I didn't feel pressured at all to pick an expensive plan (he actually advised me to go with the cheaper option because i didn't need that many treatments). His prices were reasonable, but honestly i would have gone with him anyway because he was so nice and explained everything very clearly. Good service is worth it to me. He came out for my follow-up appointment without me having to remind him and also gave me a courtesy call. I also appreciated that he arrived promptly since i was headed to work shortly after. he's no kill and the bonus is whatever he uses to repel the gophers is also environmentally friendly and safe for outdoor pets. oh, and as far as i can tell the gophers haven't come back! read more

Moles and gophers started invading our lawn. I always fertilize our lawn with insect eliminators around October every year. This past year I did not. The gophers started invading our lawn from the neighbor's lawn. That is when I called Mole Busters in San Jose. They could not come immediately, but within 48 hours John came and explained in detail what it would take to eliminate the critters. He did not have the truck and equipment with him but promised he will be back the next day. As promised, John called me about 1/2 hour before his arrival. He set up 13 traps suspecting the critters are still new (about 5 weeks since they started their adventure in our lawn). John indicated he would return in 10 days and check the traps. Again John called about 30 minutes before his arrival time; he checked all the traps and pulled the culprit out of one of the holes. It was only one gopher that was getting ready to mate and start a family. I had spent a few dollars on chemicals and smoke bombs but to no avail. What impressed me is that John, like a true Marine rolled up his sleeves and dove into the problem and solved the problem for us within three visits during a 30 day period. I highly recommend Mole Busters. Be warned though, if you see any activity by critters in your lawn, call immediately. Be very careful with these guys. John Powell is a fast talker who promises a lot but delivers very little. In my case he promised the mole problem would go away, he would roll out the lawn to make it flat again, and do regular maintenance. Moles are still here 1 year later (after paying $75 per month!), he only rolled the lawn after I called 6 times and achieved very poor results, and the maintenance was a 10 minute visit per month. read more

We called Mole Busters for a year plus old gopher infestation that I tried and failed to take care of myself. The initial quote seemed a bit high, and then I saw the amount of work and skill required to restore my property to a state where I can finally make some progress on landscaping. John, the guy in charge, knows his stuff! He was able to map the underground gopher network, to most effectively get rid of them. It took about 4 treatment rounds over the course of a month or two, but all this was included in the initial quotation. The also have a monthly repellant service that we will be using to make sure our neighbors gophers stay out of our yard. Also, they've been sensitive to the fact that we have kids and are careful to use non toxic materials (or at least minimize the time we need to keep the kids away) and also to keep the repellant away from the veggie beds. read more

Sold me on their new "advanced and more scientific" processes....which turned out to be nothing more than them baiting the yard and setting two traps.
