I think a star is valid only because the customer service was good. My issue is that they offer the bread like if it's FREE and then at the end, they will charge you for it. First of all, the bread was not fresh and with a party of 6, we ended up paying over $30 dollars for just bread. I left a review on tik tok and they kept deleting my comment as if they don't want people to know this. As a business owner, you should be ready to take the good and the bad and not hide the comments under the rug. I will not be visiting the place. We stopped in to satisfy a craving for tacos and discovered so much more. We started with drinks and guacamole. It is served in a molcajete with lots of mix-ins so you could make it as spicy or chunky as you'd like. We had the tacos molcajetes, tacos Ensenadas, and fajitas. The tacos were delicious! So flavorful. The fish in the Ensenadas was perfectly fried in a light batter that wasn't heavy but still nice and crunchy. The tacos molcajetes had a mixture of meat and veg, which blended so well together with different textures and savory flavors. Because the tacos were so full of flavor, it seemed like the fajitas were missing something but they were also quite good. The meat was cooked well. We would have loved more onions. Bathroom is nice and clean. Food selection is ok. Servers are friendly and professionals. Several occasions we eat there, a mariachi band came to our table to play music for money while we were trying to enjoy our meal. Additionally, another person came around selling bracelets, and another selling flowers. We were quickly greeted and seated. The menu is full of great selections. I went on a Wednesday night and it was pretty quiet, but a lot of regulars. The margaritas were the best part! :) I had the carne asada and the meat was extremely juicy and tender. More so than any other restaurant's skirt steak I can recall that I have had. Finally checked this place out . Glad I did. It's a gem in my neighborhood. The service was great. The new manager engaged with herself on my experience . So this what I told her. The carnitas stuffed Chile relleno was incredible . The sauces on top were on point ! The 2 margaritas I had were legit . I slipped and forgot to take a picture of the pretty one , The mango chamoy but it was perfect . So why I gave the place only 3 stars? The beans were a bit too runny for me and had a taste like they just came out of a can. Being Texans we have all eaten millions of beans at a zillion restaurants and you know when something ain't right . Also the rice had a nice separated texture but lacked in flavor. Had a group of 9 and were seated in the back after a little wait- the waiter was great just took a while to get going with drink orders and my margarita was wrong but promptly corrected. The agua chile was very acidic but not bad, molten queso was delish and quickly turns to concrete when it cools so eat it fast! My ribeye tacos were flavorful just wish they added classic cilantro and onions because it was so plain. Babe couldn't have the huitlacoche (sp?) quesadilla because it was covered in mushrooms and we had no idea based on menu description but loved the bean soup however, it was tasty as were the refried beans that came with the rice. They rapidly replaced the meal with enchiladas and they were yummy. Perfectly ripe avocados and fresh guacamole all over the place. This has become one of my new favorite restaurants, my new go to for enchiladas de mole. My family and I enjoyed the dishes we tried to get different types to try them all. We really appreciated the chips and the warm salsa it was really tasty. The only thing that we missed was the homemade flour and corn tortillas. They told us that the lady who made them had an emergency so we had to eat packaged tortillas so I will definitely come back next time to try them out. From the lobby one can see into the kitchen because it is set up as a window island, so one could smell the cooking smoke in the tables from the kitchen. But other than that the place liked really nice and new. Our waitress was really nice and attentive. Can't wait to go back soon and this time try their desserts. read more
