Mojito - Pescado mojito - delicious!!! - Cuban Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Heaven in my mouth. The place has it all, good food and good drinks. The amazing mojitos puts you in a lime-filled euphoria to prepare you for their delicately prepared entrees. Now, there's a lot of things going on in each plate so attention to detail is crucial, but these culinary artists know exactly what they are doing, from how much spice to use to the very texture of the plantains. I went there with my boyfriend late on a weekday night and opted for outdoor seating. They had plenty of space to accommodate us, but I heard it's packed on the weekends. I got the Pescado de Tito, which is a fillet of white fish wrapped in banana leafs and bay leaves and sprinkled with Latin spices. The peculiar thing was the use of cinnamon but it worked well with the sweet fish. They also dressed it with a spinach and tomatoes salad with lemon/lime vinaigrette that was a sweet and sour savory sensation that just danced on your tongue with each bite. The side of rice and maduros (sweet plantains) complimented the fish and salad to create a melodic melody in your mouth. My boyfriend got the Parillla de Luigi, a citrus marinated steak with a side of black beans, rice and tostones (fried plantains fritters). I had a couple bites of each and it was just as amazing as my dish. At the end of the dinner, Luam, the owner came over to chat with us and of course we had rave reviews. We left delightfully satiated. read more

Customer service was awesome good. And the owner made us feel right at home. Explained everything that we're are having. Everything was delicious. The ambience definitely fits the type of food. Highly recommend this place... For a place that is named Mojito they definitely have the best mojito. read more

Mojito - Amazing starter - Cuban Near Me - Seattle, Washington

See all

We went here for the first time since the start of the pandemic. The food is still fantastic, and the staff is friendly and efficient though it was relatively busy on a Tuesday evening. I had my standby- the Pabellon, and my wife had two appetizers- the Mojito platter and the Arepa, which turned out to be a lot of food at a very reasonable price. The Mojito cocktail is perfect on a warm summer night. read more

Great food with amazing friendly staff. The space is colorful and cute - the outside seating is lovely in the Seattle summer. Would recommend! read more

Yet another great experience at Mojito (formally known as La Casa De Mojito). We had the Pabellon, Bistec a Caballo, and the ceviche. All were amazing. Great flavors that were brought to the table nice and hot. We tend to order several drinks while we are there (our bill shows it!) and we always order Mojitos, Tucan, Caiprinha, and Pisco Sours. The Tucan is a sweet pink drink made with fruits and the girls love these. The other three are citrus and tart. All the drinks are very strong. We like that. The service is great! We had two very attentive servers waiting on our party of six and they did a magnificent job. The 7 table establishment was packed and it just adds tot the ambiance. read more

After my 5 star review I went back on a date. Now I know why others gave it low starrage. I guess it's hit and miss. Anyway, looks like the steak is pretty consistently amazing but I went back to have the wrapped fish and I think it was Tilapia, which I hate, so if I'd known that on the menu I could have avoided hating my dinner. It was really bland and odd-tasting (as tilapia is.) The sides and the mojitos were all still pretty fantastic. We're gonna give it another go tomorrow...cross your fingers! read more

This place is amazing. It feels like a home cooked meal from Latin America. I'm from Brazil so anytime I want to get down on some Latin food, Mojito is where I go. When I first moved here I had to find my spot and since coming here, I've never looked elsewhere. The rice and beans remind me EXACTLY (and even better) than my families rice and beans - they are so well seasoned. Hits the spot every time. I always order the pollo a la parrilla, beef empanada and a side of yuca. The green sauce that comes with the food is like a drug. It's sooo good. My fiancé usually orders a beef dish (Milanese). If you're ever looking for a hearty, home cooked meal with all all the amazing Latin feels... this is your spot. read more

Yum! Wonderful atmosphere run by a kind and friendly family. Food is excellent and drinks are delicious with great non-alcoholic options. Fun to sit outside. read more

We ordered: _Lechon Asado $16 _Pabellon $16 _Side of maduros (fried sweet plantains) The Lechon Asado is roasted marinated pork with sauteed onions. Served with congri (cuban black beans and rice), fried yucca and tostones. The pork was juicy and flavorful - hints of sweetness, citrus, savory... my mouth is watering just thinking about it! Pabellon is Venezuela's national dish. Shredded beef cooked in a tomato-based sauce with red peppers, onions and spices. Served with rice, black beans and maduros. We didn't like this one as much, but it's also a good dish! Something about the tomato sauce just wasn't as tasty? Definitely go for the pork dish! Staff are friendly. Loved sitting on the patio on a nice afternoon. We got there right before peak - around 5:45pm on a Saturday and were able to easily find a spot. Those who arrived past 6pm had to wait for a bit. Would come back and definitely recommend! read more

the best latin food i ever had!!!! please, please, don't change a thing!!! this restaurant is truly, truly a hidden gem!!!!

This neighborhood fave never disappoints. Hands down the best Latin American food I've had in Seattle. I've tried much of the menu... the empanadas, the vaca Frita, Cuban sandwich, the ox tail soup, the pescado mojito - the tres leches and the quesillo. All absolutely outstanding and so reasonably priced. The environment is warm and inviting, especially for such a small space. Chef Luam provides such excellent service and engages with his patrons. You feel like family when you are here! I go here once a week! read more

I've been here several times and I always have a great time. Whether it's on the patio, slurping down a mojito, or inside on colder days relishing every bite of an amazing meal. The dishes might seem pricey at first, but for $16 you get a great piece of meat/fish, rice, tasty salad, and some plantains. Pretty filing, and even better, the best ingredients imaginable. You feel transported to warmer climates, despite the cool, cloudy town we call home. I'm delighted to live near here, and it's definitely one of my favorite meals in town. read more

Mojito - Pescado mojito, so fresh and delicious - Cuban Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Yum! Friendly, courteous staff. Great tasting food with tons of flavor. I was prepared to only order appetizers because there were no vegetarian entrees on the online menu, but I was very happy to see 2 options in the menu when we got there. I can't remember what it was called, but I got a plate with HUGE veggie and pineapple kabobs, beans and rice and of course plantains. I was very impressed, it came out quickly and was the perfect amount of spicy for me. The mojito was ok....too limey for me, I like more mint. Plus I couldn't taste any rum!? But the atmosphere is really fun and laid back; the employees had impromptu salsa dances! Good music, too. Cool place to bring a group of people looking to have a fun night. 4 stars because I didn't care for the mojitos and we didn't get one of the drinks we ordered. read more

Who gives a crap if it is "authentic" when it tastes damn good! I order the Parrilla de Luigi and my hubby got the Lechon Asado. For the love of Gawd, what did they do to the pork to make it taste like heaven? And the steak... sure a little fatty on one part, but I could not get enough of the flavor. Add in the tasty black beans with rice and the tostones with whatever awesome sauce served on it. Yumyumyumyum! Family owned and a little culturally exuberant, expect the servers to start dancing or clapping to the music, or random family members arriving with loud hellos. Our server was a bit "in my personal bubble" and a little overly eager to get our order, but ::shrug::. We will definitely return, especially to try the sandwiches. The table next to use had three different kinds and they looked a-mazing. read more

I don't normally like Latin American or Caribbean food. I was raised with a lot of spice, and I typically find what New Yorkers call "Latin food" to be bland and often greasy. Thank goodness Mojito was everything New York and La Isla (in Ballard) failed to offer - stellar service and delicious food! Between the three of us, we had: - passionfruit shake - mojito - pescado de guiso (almost like puttanesca sauce) - steak milanesa - berenjena en coco (a touch on the sweet side, but tempered with plenty of lime) - quesillo (much like flan, but a bit thicker) Everything was delicious! Given the portion sizes and quality of everything, I was ok with the slightly high prices. I subtracted one star for little things, some of which they can't do much about: - the dining space is tiny and they don't take reservations; glad we went on a Monday! - the music is great, but a bit too loud for dinner conversation (maybe just me) - parking is a little tricky on the tight neighborhood street adjacent read more

10/10 highly recommend. Owner was very inviting! Great atmosphere. First time having Cuban food, I enjoyed their tres leches.

Lake City was were I resided my entire college life. I'd always pass this bright yellow house going to the freeway entrance. And I'd always think to myself...I'm going to try this place one day! As I college kid, I didn't think to try new restaurants or expand out of my bubble as I have now. Now, I live and breathe food. =) But, I did go here about 5 years ago & I'd have to say it was one of the first places I ventured that started my whole "finding new restaurants" run... I retried it again yesterday with my bf. MAN, I wish we came with more people so that we could try every dish on the menu. I was scoping out the plates of neighbors - oh yeah, this is going to be GOOD! BF ordered the mojito of course, and thought it was solid. I agreed. We ordered the shrimp app & the signature steak dish. It was all very good. I was eyeing someone's slow roasted chicken n pork....next time they are mine!! I will hit up the U-district location too. Also for lunch, I love me a Cuban sammy!! The service was great too, really friendly server. Note: looks tad whole in the wallish, but entrees are $15-18, however, they do give good portions. read more

The BEST food and our home away from home!! We have tried almost everything on the menu and loved every bite! If you enjoy having a scrumptious meal at a place where you feel like family, Mojito is the place to be! read more

My three year old kid and I ate here on the patio. The staff took such good care of us, especially considering how a young child can need more attention (extra silverware, napkins, plate...) than an adult. Our server turned on the heater for us, so we were comfortable eating outside on a chilly day. Everything we ordered - arepa, mango batido beverage, and parrilla mojito - was delicious. Would definitely return here for the excellent service and food. read more

Amazing carribean joint. Food and vibe are spot on for island feel. Costa Rica, Hawaii, Cuba... it's all in the air here. Seating on the patio is definitely worth it on nice days. read more

Been coming here since I moved to Seattle in 2006. This place is near and dear to my heart since my husband took me here on one of our 1st Seattle dates since he knew I loved Latin food. this place used to be called La Casa del Mojito back in the day and there also used to be a location by UW, we used to go there as well until it closed. Luam is the greatest, he always takes care of you. For our wedding we ended up renting the whole restaurant for a private party! It was great. The location is pretty small so it gets packed. On a sunny day, grab a seat outside and drink a mojito! Our favorite thing to get there is the parilla de luigi. My husband also gets the sandwhich if he goes during lunch time. We have tried pretty much everything on the menu. Some dishes are better than others, but if you get the parilla de luigi then you are good to go. Rice, black beans, tostones. plantains, yucas and habenero hot sauce and steak yum. There is a fish dish that has olives that my husband loves, will have to look it up later. I find the pollo a la parilla a little in lacking flavor sometimes and the Vaca Frita decent, but I haven't had much of it to really compare. Sometimes service can be slow if it gets busy, but to me..sitting there with a mojito (or two)...I hardly notice. Sometimes they blast music and you can play with bongos yaaay! read more

Mojito's food is delicious and the portions are great. I really appreciate how Victor has taken care of my gluten and dairy allergies each time I've ordered with him. I love Mojito, I love how friendly and uplifting the staff are, and I love visiting it for the very good vibes and great music!! I definitely recommend this place to everyone!! read more

I'm torn between giving this place 3 or 4 stars. It has a really fantastic atmosphere and i love the decor. Its colorful with great music, even drums in the corner if you want to join in. The food is really good too, cooked to order, drinks made to order. Small menu but solid choices. Only thing is... A "South American" themed restaurant is like having a "European theme" restaurant, with one item from Germany, one from Italy, one from France... Having a scattering of food and drink from Venezuela, Cuba, Brazil, Argentina, Chile.. it just doesn't quite work, a little too scattered and prevents them from a real authentic feel. That, and the steep prices, for what you get. The night we went (in a large group for a birthday) we had originally planned on going to the University District location, but they were unexpectedly closed due to the cook and/or server being in some accident? So we went to the Roosevelt location instead, and to compensate for the inconvenience our entire party of ten got coconut rum shots on the house... Yum! They also played some fun Latino birthday music for our occasion. read more

We came here for a friend's bday dinner and it was on a Thursday night, so the atmosphere was really enjoyable. Apparently, this restaurant kicks it on the weekends with dancing and loud music. I love the exotic cuisine this restaurant offers. Everything looks and tastes DELICIOUS! I will be back very soon! read more

This was my first experience of Cuban food and I am definitely a fan! I was told to order their mojito (which I normally don't order) and was impressed. It was just the right blend of alcohol, mint, and lime. Very refreshing and a great way to finish off the day. It's a small restaurant, so not at all good for groups unless you want to pretty much rent out the whole area. But the food was amazing (my stomach is asking for more as I write this) and I would definitely recommend this to my friends and family. I had ordered the Vaca Frita and had a taste of the variety appetizer platter. I'll for sure go back to try other things! On another note, I like spicy so I just had to try their Habanero sauce: amazing! I loved the blend that they used and it was easy to apply to my foods in just the right amounts. Downside is that it's more on the expensive side (cheapo me) but worth the visit once in awhile. read more

It was very convenient that this place was right across from my place while I was in college. It was my first time trying authentic Latin cuisine. I came in not knowing what to order, I just told my waitress that I was really hungry. After 20 mins, she came back with black beans and rice, steak, egg, and some kind of fried bread with a spread that was amazing! There's a man named Luam who usually sits in the corner singing Latin music will converse with you, cool guy. read more

Mojito - Cuban Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Have been there now at least 10 times now. Generally speaking we've had great service. This last time though, we noticed new menus. Looks like a price increase. Add to that, pretty slow and lame service. 20 minutes of standing around as they didn't want to sit us in a 4 table for the 2 of us, and eventually relented when they realized no one else was going to take it. 45-50 minutes for our appetizers to come after ordering. Another 30min for our main dish. C'mon pork asado doesn't need 1.5hours to make. It's done already since it's been stewing all day at that point. Waiting quite a while for attention to get our water refilled why the two guys chat away and text on their phones. We love the place, but may think of other alternatives for now till I forget about such a bad experience this last time. read more

So I just finished eating here. Found myself pondering whether it was a two or three star review. I arrived at the three star review based on the thought that modest portions are a good thing. Aside from that the food has the air of what I have had in costa rica. I had the Venezuelan national dish and was somewhat taken aback at the sweetness. The plantains were the high point from me. Not quite what I remember from cr. I wondered if they did or didn't use palm oil. They did in cr and while it is bad for you, it can make drywall taste great. Another upside was that the mojitos were good. Not super strong but good. On the down side there was lots of noise and it was hard to have a conversation. Service was friendly. So color me sort of - meh. read more

What a gem! Came here one sunny Saturday for lunch with a friend and absolutely loved the food, atmosphere, service and colorful decor. You could tell they were channeling some exotic loacale with every thought that went into this place (I had flashbacks of a trip to Panama while I was there). Their best selling parrilla mojito provided great variety and amazing flavors. Everything was seasoned just perfectly with not too much sauce. The service was very quick and our server was very friendly and seemed to really enjoy talking to be people and having them at his restaurant to share a meal. read more

Amazing drinks and excellent food for this funky little Cuban restaurant. They frequently run out of one item or another (I.e. rum, food sides) but you don't need to worry. The drinks are the best around and truly what increase the bill. The half chicken is always amazing and my go to fav. Though the shredded beef dishes are amazing. Make sure to ask for the hot sauce. Just use a dab if you want to taste the rest of the night. But definitely worth adding to the meal. Tiny, tiny place with approx 8 indoor tables and sometimes they fill up. I truly recommend this funky Lake City gem!!! read more

My boyfriend and I had been wanting to try this place for awhile but I don't think we had any idea what to expect. We have been back multiple times since and it is now one of our favorite places! The Parilla Mojitio is obviously the best dish on the menu, as you can tell from other reviews (and we have tried other things as well). The taste is overwhelmingly good and last with you all day. Yum! Their mojitos are the best I've had and their appetizers are really flavorful and all tasty. The downfalls of this place is that the service isn't always great and the dinner prices are outrageous. I recommend coming here for lunch to get the most bang for you buck. This little gem isn't for everyone as the location is sort of weird and the place is small...but I think its worth it! read more

I have to say I've been here only once but I really liked it. As soon as we walked out I was ready to eat here again. It's a cozy little building with friendly servers and good drinks. The food was very tasty although I did find it a tad bit salty. Somehow it has a warm sunny vibe even in the Seattle gray. It would be super fun to come here in the warm months and eat outside. read more

First thing I heard when I walked in the door...'Welcome, can I get you a mojito?'...heck yeah you can!! This place is awesome! Their mojitos are amazing and made from scratch...and apparently pretty potent as I was buzzed halfway through my first one! As for food...I felt like I tried a little bit of everything since I came with a big group and we were served family style. I wasn't disappointed by a single thing. The owner is awesome, the food is awesome, and the mojitos will knock your socks off...definitely lives up to it's name. I'll be back for sure...with everyone I know! read more
