This is a must visit place. Amazingly well grilled meats and good drinks. I tried the Vaca Frita (shredded beef cooked with onions and tomatoes) and my friend tried the Guiso de Pollo (half chicken cooked with onions, tomatoes and olives). The shredded beef was slightly on the drier side but the flavor was awesome. The chicken was very succulent and had a very flavorful sauce/masala with it. The servings are big and it was hard to finish them. We didn't order any appetizers by the way! Overall: Highly recommended. I would come back any day! read more

We went to Mojito's for a birthday dinner last night and we seriously regretted going there. The birthday boy chose the place based on a previous positive experience but last night's experience was not positive. We were excited since so many here gave it a good review but it was a long, drawn out experience. My first issue was with the speed of service. I ordered an appetizer (Tortilla Espanola) and it took me about 30 minutes to receive it. It was fine but it was disappointing that it took that long to get it. After that was eaten, it took maybe another 30 minutes to get our entrees. Two people in party were happy with the temperature of their food but myself and someone else, who got the same entrée, both found our entrée to be cold. Part of the dish just seemed like reheated rice and beans with tostones and the steak was an awfully tough piece of meat. It didn't feel worthy of the price they were asking for. Besides the cold food, our server just was not attentive and couldn't be bothered to even refill our water glasses or give us our check. We had to ask her for water and we had to ask for the check after waiting for maybe 20 minutes. I saw the table behind us get angry when 1 of the 4 people seated didn't get their entrée when they had been there almost as long as we had. It seemed that even the people seated outside had to come inside to get the server's attention. When we were asked how everything was, we were honest and told her we were not happy. She thanked us for "our honesty" and said they were open to criticism but she didn't even bother asking why we were unhappy. That spoke volumes. To add insult to injury, she made an error when running our card for payment. We gave her $40 in cash and asked that she run the balance on the card. We realized she only took $20 off the balance instead of the $40 and we brought that to her attention. Instead of voiding the transaction and starting over, she issued a refund for the $20. The result is eventually the same but it takes longer for us to get our money back through a refund. It is unfortunate that this happened, we were all excited about our meal at Mojitos given all the good reviews we've seen here. Even before we ate, the ambience and smells coming from the kitchen were all good but we won't be returning. read more

The vaca frita here is really good. The fried beef with the lime and garlic is delicious. I also liked they had different varieties of fried plantains. It's a really small place in the middle of a neighborhood so it's not a big swanky place. It looks and feels like a family run place. Service was fine and they had good drinks. Prices are really good for the lunch menu read more

2 words: lechon asado We've frequented the lake City way location for the past several years and have never been disappointed by the superb service, delicious food and powerful drinks. I've become addicted to the slow roasted pork goodness of the lechon asado paired w/ a Caipirinha. Most everything else we've tried on the menu has been good, but I am fixated on the portk. The appetizer platter provides a nice survey of Lat Am food. The mojitos are head and shoulders above the poseur concoctions available most places. For dessert, you can't go wrong w/ tres leches (3-milk soaked cake) read more

La Casa del Mojito in North Seattle's hidden gem. I'm baffled that not only had I never been here before, I'd never ever heard of this place! This is THE perfect little place to duck out of Seattle's gray, cold weather and enjoy some savory Latin American fare. The walls inside are painted vibrant shades of yellow, orange, and green, you can feel the warmth radiating throughout this cozy restaurant. Most of my friends ordered the Parilla Luigi (pictured above); lime marinated steak, tostones, black beans and rice, and an amazing guacamole-like concoction. I ordered a traditional Argentinean dish which while not as aesthetically pleasing was quite delicious! Paired with some slamming mojitos and beers, we had ourselves quite a delicious night! read more

Favorite restaurant on the planet!!!!!! Luam has been taking care of me since the beginning. It's always a great atmosphere for a date or large group of friends. I can't think of another place I would eat when I come home to Seattle. I'm craving it right now!!! Pile on some Wasacaca on to a plantain with a fresh Mojito in my hand and I'm ready to go. I've been coming here since it opened and I will keep coming back until the day I depart. MOJITO for the WIN. read more

My husband and I went there for dinner on a sunny Friday evening. We really enjoyed the light-hearted decor and staff (It was a slow evening so our waiter was playing the drums - how awesome is that?!) For our food, we got their top-seller steak entree and a steamed fish entree. Not being cuban cuisine connoisseurs, we can't comment on its authenticity, but everything was fresh, unique and wonderful. Portion wise, It's just the right amount of food for one person, and you don't feel it is too heavy or greasy or anything. For drinks, my husband ordered a mojito. It was pricey but very strong (so I guess it's worth it? haha) Overall it was a very refreshing dining experience, and we're already planning our next visit with family soon! read more

I'm sooo happy to see the reviews where they are on this place. Its a gem! The kind of spot you take your friends and family when they come from out of town. Owner is AMAZING! Never had a bad thing here. Please stay open for ever!!!!!! Love the drinks!!! read more

I love love love the food at Mojito, but have now had two experiences where I didn't feel safe picking up food. Several staff not wearing masks, people picking up food pushing by - oh I forgot something - no masks. The restaurant has the space to make this a safe environment and has chosen not to. I've sent a message directly to the restaurant, and don't see a change. Thumbs down on making all feel welcome and safe. read more

My boyfriend and I just left from our first dining experience here and it was off the chain! First of all, all the raving reviews about the food and the drinks are absolutely spot on. Amazing and mouth-watering. Every bite. And sip. Second, the vibe was perfect! For being on yet anorher drab, boring Seattle street corner, this little shack provides a splash of color, rhythmic music and a friendly staff. And last, but not least, yes the food took more than 10 minutes. Who cares?! Drink another ridiculously appetizing mojito. If you can't chill for a few extra minutes you don't deserve this deliciousness. Try Taco Bell. read more

I love this place! I have been coming to this restaurant once every few months since I first came here. The food is amazing, top notch service, and the Mojito's are the best! Sometimes they have music, sometimes people are making their own music with the drums and instruments they have around. The Ceviche and the Mojito platter are great starters. For dinner, one of my favorite dishes is the Pescado en Guiso, melts in your mouth. The sauce over the fish is enough to make my olive hating boyfriend a fan. He usually ends up with the Bistec a Caballo. The desserts are also good if your in the mood and haven't stuffed yourself. Depending on how busy it is when you go, it may be a bit of a wait, it's well worth it! read more

Here are some notes. Can be pros or cons depending on your taste: Super intimate - 8 tables of 4 total, pretty close to neighbors. Arepas: served on a bed of spinach with guacamole. Guacamole: very acidic - lime? Vinegar? Offsets fried sides well, but odd on its own IMO. Steak: Well done, so a bit tougher than I expected. Kids didn't love it and usually love steak. Black beans: excellent! We are picky about black beans and really liked these ones. For us: it was fine, but for an $18 plate of food, we wish we had been more impressed. read more

Mojito is amazing! Drinks are lovely (definitely recommend the mojito), ambience is friendly with a wonderful outdoor patio and Victor was so kind and helpful in helping me choose the perfect dinner! The camarones carmen dinner is delicious with the perfect amount of spices. Definitely one of my neighborhood staples and every time I come here I feel like I'm treated like family. Highly recommend Mojito to visitors and locals alike! read more

Great food and great service !!! We ordered ceviche , vaca frita and parilla. It was all delish

Ordered for takeout. Got a delicious chicken empanada to start. The parilla mojito was a little dry, and the bistec a caballo was a little tough and bland. The vaca frita was decent though. read more

Pretty awesome food, Not pretentious, just great latin american food. Fried Plantains, Fried Yuca and tostones are awesome starters. The free soup is usually good. Parrillada mojito is good, milanesa , pork. everything is delicious. The drinks are not that great. read more

What more can you ask for in a restaurant? Great Latin American food, awesome mojitos and salsa dancing. I can't even begin to explain how deliciously decadent their food is. I am craving it right this moment. The staff is amazing. They cater to all your needs. Whether its food, cocktails or learning to salsa dance. This place is definitely on my list of top favorites of Seattle. I have yet to try everything on the menu, but I am sure I will not be disappointed. This will become my new spot to hang this summer........CAN'T WAIT!!!! read more

Had a great meal with friends last night at Mojito. The food was great, the Mojitos were great. The music was also nice, they turned it up a bit at 9PM which started my foot tapping. We chatted with the owner a little right as we left. A place to visit again! read more

So good! The place is rather small, so I would get there early on a weekend night. I think my boyfriend and I went around 6 on a Friday evening and got the last table. Their food is delicious. I had the fish and my boyfriend had the steak and we had 0 complaints. The service is also really good. read more

My boyfriend and I thought we would check out Mojito's based upon all the great reviews on Yelp and Urbanspoon. Sadly, I was pretty disappointed. We started with the Ensalada Caribena, which was a bunch of previously frozen fruit DRENCHED in dressing. He liked it (he doesn't mind a lot of dressing on salads), but I couldn't stomach it for very long. I also got the sangria (I wasn't really in the mood for a mojito), which tasted like refrigerated red wine, not actual sangria. He got the Pabellon and really enjoyed it. I got the Pescado Mojito, and the fish was obviously frozen and was pretty soggy. I was unimpressed. On the good side, the fried plantains and yuca fritas were really good! This might be a better spot for snacks and drinks rather than dinner. read more

We recently moved to Seattle and are still searching for good Latin American restaurants. On Yelp this place looked awesome, with a lot of reviews and decent ratings, so we decided to give it a try. The place is okay, but not as good as can be inferred from the reviews. Also it seems a bit overpriced for the quality of food. We liked the appetizer with fish, but yucca was a disappointment. Tostones seemed to be not fresh enough. So overall, not too bad, but could be much better. read more

If you haven't been to Latin America, tasted the the real and lived to tell it, then come here. Good ppl. Great food, great service. My husband and I visited this pocket sized Latin American restaurant (no reservations taken) on a busy Saturday evening. We were seated right away at an outside table (no heaters so a bit chilly) by the lovely and efficient server (I think she was the only one for the whole place since there were new servers being trained.) Our drinks were delayed, but the waitress made it good, and the ceviche, the Pabellon and the Lechon Asado were all excellent and ample in size. 4.5 stars would be more appropriate because of the delays, but I am rounding up to 5 stars due to the delicious drinks and food, and the friendly relaxed ambience of this place. I'd love to return on a lovely summer night when the restaurant doors are open and there is enough staff! read more

Man O Man it has been a minute since I had the sandwiches at lunch... all I can say is this place is it! I believe that the Pepito steak sandwich is the BEST IN THE WORLD! Make sure you ask for it with a EGG on it! Then it will dance in your mouth! TEN STARRS for customer service Luam the owner sets the stage for all of the great employees to follow! THE LOW-DOWN: Has potential. Good flavor, but overcooked and overpriced. Poor location/seating. Will return, but not regularly. _______________ My girlfriend and I read a very favorable feature-review in the Seattle Weekly of this restaurant so we decided to try it. The article made the place sound exotic, lush, well-researched/sourced, well-organized, well-run, and, above all, memorably delicious. It even said that the personal chef for Bill Gates and Family had, essentially, had Mojito cater an event of theirs. Seemed like a glowing review, every reason in the world to give it a try...even roundabout celebrity endorsement. Not impressed. It is...overpriced, over-cooked, over-spiced, and the location was almost quite literally a shack. We sat in tiny, uncomfortable chairs on a very small patio outside an even smaller covered-dining area with a breathtaking view of...the interstate. I am not about giving bad reviews. This is a fair review. So it is here that I will note that my girlfriend ordered a Cuban sandwich and liked it (she is a native Floridian and something of an authority on Cuban food, especially sandwiches.) The whole table split a piece of Tres Leches (cake) and THAT was the gold standard and the saving grace: It was nearly orgasmic, one of the best I've ever tasted, and I hail from Los Angeles, where everyone's grandmother makes "the best" Tres Leches. I'd definitely drop by Mojito for this cake, alone, I will say that. However, my steak plate with rice & black beans was overpriced at almost $17 and what arrived were three asada-style cuts (skirt steak) about the size of an average potato chip, overcooked to the point of teeth-yanking toughness...a scoop of black beans, a small scoop of white rice, about three fried plantains and about five papas fritas. the food was moderately good, just very overpriced. Rice and beans are notoriously inexpensive foods, as are potatoes and plantains. And skirt steak is not exactly a porterhouse for price. These foods are cheap to acquire, especially at wholesale prices like most restaurateurs do. And the location is just...sad. Like I said...Mojito has potential. It COULD be an incredible restaurant...Just a few changes need to be made first. read more

Great neighborhood spot for awesome food just don't expect awesome service. I went here a few month back to introduce my mom to my boyfriend. I thought it would be the perfect spot since we love going here and it has an awesome vibe. We sat down and waited... and waited and finally got up to go ask the server for a menu. After he brought us the menu we figured out our drinks but could nit find out waiter to order. We patiently waited 10 minuets joking with our neighbors where our server had gone to find out he was outside. Our waiter came back in took the whole restaurants drink orders and then was once again nowhere to be found. 25 minutes into out experience we were bale to order food and get out meal. The food itself was amazing. Perfectly cooked steak and Mojito sauce. The drinks were also great. Overall the place is really cute and awesome food! The only down side was the service. If you are not in a rush or, not on first nervous meet and greet like me I would say totally go to this place. read more

Figured I'd give an update on one of my favorite Caribbean food restaurants in Seattle! Here's my update: I still love this place!!!! My wife and I came this past Friday which seemed like an eternity since the last time we were here. Not sure why we had waited so long to come back, but this time was just as good as the first. I ordered the bistec de caballo again with the same habanero hot sauce. The portion was huge and I finished it all (of course). The Mojito was also very tasty, but, it better be...right? read more

Fantastic. Started off with a couple mojitos and a shrimp appeetizer that came with a bunch of fresh veggies and fruits. Ordered the Pabellon for my main and was in heaven. Flavorful shredded beef, red peppers, and onions with lots of black beans & rice. Fiance had the Pescado de Tito, which was very good as well, and it seemed like a very healthy preperation. We both saved half our entrees to bring home, but it was a challenge....so tempting just to keep eating! Staff was very friendly, drinks were great. Small room, but a big patio if it's nice out. Not cheap, at about $60 for the 2 entrees, an app, and 2 drinks, but well worth every penny. We'll be back for sure. read more

Believe the hype. This place is worth going out of your way for. I have heard complaints about the service, but I have always been there at lunch time, and it's never been a problem for me. I almost always get the grilled chicken. I'm guessing they put crack in it, because I can't think of anything else that would make it as blissful. read more

Mojitos is hands down the BEST Cuban restaurant! The food is absolutely delicious and always hot and fresh, Mojitos are also fantastic! The atmosphere is so fun and welcoming, But the absolute best part about Mojitos is the owner, Luam. He's wonderful. He's runs a successful business always making improvements and striving to make it the best it can be, takes care of his family & always takes the time to meet and greet his costumers as if he's known you his whole life. Every time we're in there he sits with our kids and shows them a new instrument and how to play it. He's so down to earth and friendly. His staff always has a smile and goes the extra mile. Every time we're in seattle Mojitos is a must. It's your one stop shop for food, drinks & to take old friends to make new friends. Without a doubt, put Mojitos on your list sooner rather than later. THE BEST! read more

I really wanted to like this place. There are precious few Cuban joints in town, the staff was super nice, the drinks were good and we enjoyed the ceviche. Unfortunately, I just didn't enjoy the main course a ton. The tostones simply tasted old & stale. I think the oil they has used was past it's prime or they had sat for a long while, then reheated. The pork and beef was good, but not terribly well spiced. In the end, for the price we might come back for a drink but probably not for food. read more

Got the Sunday special oxtail soup and OMG, it is one of the best soups I've maybe ever had. It's hearty and has so much depth of flavor. And my gosh, they give a huge portion of soup!
