The restaurant has a super nice South America vibe with all the music and decorations. The food here are pretty large portions. I ordered 1 entree, 2 appetizer and the bill is about $30. So not expensive but also not super cheap. Personally had a bit difficult time adjusting the salty and the sweet at the same time in the Camarones Carmen, but overall it is good. I love the arepa. This place is THE BOMB. I went there today and ordered the Lechon Asado. It was amazing. The meat was so tendered and everything on the plate went together so well. The servers were really nice and the atmosphere was great. I ended up chatting with Victor who was also very lovely. This is one of the best restaurants in which I have partaken a meal. The dishes, especially the shrimp and mango and the pork dishes, are bursting with flavor. They serve patacones so I was excited to have some, but they ended up being the frozen type (not made fresh). I absolutely LOVE Mojito! The food is always very tasty, the atmosphere is great and staff, especially Victor, are friendly. For reference, I live in SW Seattle and make the trek all the way to the NE for their delicious beef empanadas ( I always order 2), the parrilla mojito and a side of maduros. The steak is consistently good, moist and oh so flavorful! I'm not sure what they're marinating it in (some kind of citrus...probably lime) but it's delicious! While on our weekend excursion to the city we found this little gem on yelp and just had to try it. Having recently moved here from Florida I was thrilled to come across a Latin restaurant as I've been having withdrawals. Mojito did not disappoint! It's a "hole in the wall," no hostess, just the owner greeting people, getting them a table, helping the one server in house, and 2 cooks in the kitchen. There's only 8 tables inside (not sure about the patio as it was cold rainy) but it's definitely worth the wait! The food was so good it reminded me of my mothers cooking, the music reminded me of my dad's Latin band, and the ambiance made me feel like I was home. I cannot wait to come back to the city and eat here again! I almost forgot to mention, the flan was so good it's the first one my husband has ever liked! It was even better than my moms read more

The sandwich bread here is so crunchy and delicious! The Mojito sandwich was just ok, a bit bland and wasn't anything to write home about. In retrospect, I think I should have gotten the Cuban sandwich because when I got home and added mustard to my leftover Mojito sandwich ... it was better. We went to mojito on weekday dinner. It was pretty hidden, located at the street next to the I-5 enterance. Without navigation, you might not be able to find it. The building itself is very colorful, and the lights come on during the night time. The interior was also very playful. They have lot of interesting decorative pieces like instruments and coins and they added nice "authentic" vibe. We ordered cevice and half chicken dish. I am nit a big fan of cevice, but since their description said it was "cooked" fish, I gave it a try, hoping it to be less fishy tasting. I still found the dish to be bit too fish, and too strong in flavor. Half chicken was served with fries and black beans, and they were great. Huge portion, nicely grilled chicken. Tried out Mojito for the first time today after driving by yesterday after sparking my curiosity with its bright yellow building. I was greeted by Victor, who went above and beyond to make sure that me and my girlfriend had a great experience. I tried an arepa with pork as well as the vaca frita lunch special and paird that with their mojito. The food was flavorful, juicy and filling and priced very well. The mojito was a bit strong but it is exactly what I wanted. My girlfriend tried the tortilla Espanola, the el mojito sandwich and the jasper rum punch. All of her food i tried was very good and the punch was amazing! Highly recommend trying it out! read more

It's rare to find good, authentic food in Seattle, so I was so excited to try out this local restaurant. And they didn't disappoint. I got the fried fish with plantains, and they were delicious. They reminded me of my times in Latin America. This place is such a rare and sweet treat to Seattle. The only downside of this place is that I saw the owner berate one of the managers. The manager was so friendly and helpful towards us. He was so so charismatic and humorous so we enjoyed his friendly banter while we ate. He honestly made our stay even better. The owner walked in, and the manager introduced us to him. The manager did that because we first thought he was the owner, but he corrected us, said he was just a manager. After a while, the owner pulled aside the manager and it was obvious that he started to scold him. We didn't know what for, but the manager, who's personality was very cheerful and outgoing, suddenly turned solemn and serious for our entire stay. I don't know why the manager got in trouble, but I also don't understand why the owner would get him in trouble in front of customers. The food was absolutely delicious though. read more

Let me just start with the fact that Mojito is delicious! We just moved to the area and love it. Secondly the customer service is AMAZING. I ordered a to-go order and said "A" Cubano to try to distinguish that it was just one of those sandwiches. Victor heard 8 (understandably). Needless to say because I was scatter brained due to work and used to high Seattle prices, I didn't notice that the price was higher than it should be OR that I picked up so many boxes (with a gifted dessert). In my experience some restaurants divide out sides and waste boxes. Victor offered us restaurant credit for the extra sandwiches I accidentally ordered. He absolutely did not have to do that! While I'm embarrassed to show my face (and will make my husband order from now on), we will definitely be going back for the amazing food and customer service :). read more

The fish was good-- tender and covered in tomato/pepper/onion sauce which complemented it well. However, the salad that came with it was hard to eat. To be more specific, it was the yellow dressing on top of it that made it inedible. I'm not at all a picky eater, but there was this distinct taste/smell that I could not figure out and it just ruined the salad for me. The colors of anything you order here really brightens up your day and just looks fabulous on a plate. However, the flavors left much to be desired. We tried the pescado en guiso for 12$ (white fish fillet w/ tomato-based sauce, capers, olives, white wine) and pabellon for 12$ (shredded beef in red pepper onion tomato sauce w/ rice and black beans). The fish was buried under the dark tomato sauce but nestled above a thin bed of rice. With each bite, I really had no idea how much fish I actually got. Those bites that did include fish, it was very soft, but kind of bland. The cute little salad on the side was refreshing, but nothing quite stand-out. There are two small plantain pieces as dessert, which was a sweet end to the meal. The pabellon went very nicely with the onions and peppers and had a spiciness that wasn't overwhelming. Beans took up most of the plate though, along with the rice that left you wishing for more actual meat. The small portions were ok for the price...but you definitely had a bit of room left for something else after cleaning the plate. The location is in a colorful building on an unusual corner of Lake City Way that was a bit hard to find. Parking is street parking in the nearby neighborhoods. read more

Man.... I miss this place big time. I stopped in at the lake city location on Thursday night for a dinner with a friend. 8:00 arrival and there was one table open, how fortuitous. Started off with signature mojito, it's a must and you can't go wrong. Still the best mojito that I've had in Seattle. Very authentic. Luams platter was our starter. It's a platter for four with four different kinds of platains. All of them are fried and it comes with guac for dipping. It's meant for four but I get it for two all the time. Vaca Frita for me which I've had 10 times before and lechon asado for my guest. The VF is marinated shredded beef that blasts with citrus, lime and spice. I add habenero sauce which is fantastically hot but in a good way which doesn't add or detract from the flavor of the dish. My guest loved his dish which is marinated pork served in similar fashion to my own dish. I probably would have tried that dish by now but it reminds me of kalua pig from a Hawaiian joint which just isn't what I am in the mood for when I come here. Next time I'm going to have the parrilla de Luigi. Skipped the desert this time and finished with another mojito instead. Didn't see any of the faces I know from the other location.
