First time. Fantastic food (super tasty) And excellent Mojitos! Very friendly servers. Little loud but well worth it.

I went to Mojito with a group of friends (okay, it was my dad and little sister) to celebrate another one of my successes (okay, it was a pity lunch). This place was such a nice treat. Somehow I really felt like I was no longer on the corner of Lake City and I-5, but in the sunny caribbean. And don't forget plenty of excellent salsa music--their music selection was very impressive! Complimentary vegetable beef soup welcomed us when we arrived. I ordered the Pepito sandwich with tostones. Mmm! With garlic cilantro aioli, these tostones are in the "MUST TRY" category at this restaurant. The pepito sandwich had a delicious guacamole-like avocado sauce with tomatoes, onions and tender beef. It was flavorful and a memorable sandwich. The bread was crispy and the contents actually stayed inside the sandwich. BONUS! I have to give this * * * * (four stars), because I think their menu could use some more selection. Mostly it was just a couple of sandwiches with similar variations and the dishes seemed to have similar flavors. Also, there are other amazing caribbean food in Seattle (think Paseo's and Pam's kitchen), which seem to be a more obvious choice if I'm in the mood for a caribbean meal. What is it about this place that gets people coming back and raving? I'd honestly like to know. We've gone several times with friends and while the food was competently made, it wasn't anything that I'd extol. There is a small patio outside and a small dining area inside. No complaints about the size of either, just commenting. Another observation is that I feel the prices are a few dollars higher than they should be. During our last visit, my friends commented that their beef were fattier cuts and overcooked. I had no issue with the meat in the Vaca Frita that I ordered, only that the congrí was on the drier side. The drinks are good, specifically their mojitos + caipirinhas. My advice, unless your mission is to get tanked before the meal comes, is pace yourself. They are strong and mean business. Street parking only with plenty of traffic noise during rush hour. So if you sit outside, prepare yourself to use outside voices to be heard. I wanted to like this place, really I did. Honestly I've had better and with my happy little food truck around, my Cuban food dance card is nicely full. read more

How does this place have 4 stars? Just experienced horrible service, food was not authentic (been to many excellent Venezuelan and Cuban places in LA) and this place was neither. They didn't even know what a Cachapa was. (Typical Venezuelan pancake) They seem to have about half the servers required to attend their customers, which the servers were very impolite and almost rude the whole time. The food was very overpriced ($16 for greasy Pabellon..really?) for such poor qualify food. All in all..much better places out there that have great service and food. One more observation: as we were about to leave the kitchen brought more FROZEN pre-made bags of tostones (fried banana chips). So sad. This should tell you the rest of the story...... read more

Don't order through Uber eats. I ordered their ceviche which is supposed to come with tostones but instead came with old tortilla chips that looked like they came from the bottom of their chip warmer. The ceviche itself was mostly onions, not much fish. Definitely disappointed because I've ordered this at the restaurant before and it was great. I know I am supper harsh on Hispanic businesses, but it is because I am Hispanic. I have had may share of Hispanic food and I am somewhat good at cooking it myself. The food was cooked. Nothing was hard or under cooked. Meat was tender and jut right. However; everything tasted the same. Everything was over powers by vinaigrette. Way too much. Another thing location!!!! Omg I was sitting there for a minute and I about witness 3 car accidents. It's a one way street and well should I say it. Hispanic!!! People were coming in the wrong way. Then there were a group of kids coming in the right way but at supper spread they almost crash against someone coming the wrong way. I speak of them cause they went in to the restaurant as if they own the place I would not be surprised if they are family of the owner. For them reason only 3 stars. The de flan was good. read more

Let me begin by saying that I haven't had an experience this amazing in a long time. From the atmosphere to the food to the personable owner, Mojito's delivers a memorable experience. After a long day of traveling, my friend and I were looking for some grub within close walking distance from our Airbnb apartment. Look no further than directly across the street! The colorful exterior drew us in and the seating on the patio was perfect for the sunny day. We started by ordering drinks: the tucán, which was a delicious mixture of rum, strawberry, and passion fruit. My taste buds danced when I took my first sip: it was fruity and very refreshing. The food absolutely blew me away! I ordered the pabellón dish, which is apparently the national dish of Venezuela. The seasoned beef was cooked to perfection and was complimented nicely by fried plantains, seasoned black beans, and white rice. Portion sizes were very generous as well. My favorite part of the experience was getting to know the owner, Luam (I'm sure I'm spelling his name incorrectly). When he found out that we were from out of town and staying directly across the road, he very graciously gifted us a bottle of rum and two shot glasses. What a kind man! We will be back before flying home and highly recommend this amazing restaurant. read more

There's barely any parking but spending that extra 10 minutes to find a spot is SO worth it. The food is amazing and flavorful I love Hispanic cuisine but they elevated my standards. This was probably the most fun dining experience I have had in Seattle. The staff is super nice and funny. We had a wait and they chatted with us and gave us some complementary snacks! We've eaten here 5-6 times, and it is always very fun. The owner seems to work 18 hr days --- he is always there. He is very warm and courteous. I hadn't been there for a year, and when I arrived, the owner came up to me and expressed concern he hadn't seen me in a long time, and wanted to make sure I was OK! (How did he remember me?!!) I had the good fortune of having Mojito introduced to me a couple nights ago. This restaurant is a revelation for Latin American flavors. So good, I had to come back the following night to try some more. The empanadas and ceviche are incredible, the guacamole is the best I've had, and make sure you get their namesake Mojito. We tried the Parrilla Mojito, Bistec a Caballo, and the Vaca Frita. All were fantastic and worth coming back for, but the Vaca Frita is a must order for someone at the table. What an amazing find! Tiny little place with bright colors and loud Latin music. Truly authentic Caribbean food. This is an AMAZING spot in Seattle. Black owned, hella delicious food, and great service! I love the ambiance (there is outdoor seating with beautiful murals). Amazing, just go! From the drinks to the food to the cake. My girlfriend is from Panama and went to cooking school in NYC at international culinary institute and her and I both loved it. I couldn't believe it was on the corner of basically kinds of where the free way is.. in like a house looking place. The place is nice. It is loud, but I like the vibe of it! Omg this place is SOOOOOO good. I always get the steak thats marinated with all sorts of spices and citrus (Parrilla De Luigi). They have this hot sauce made with garlic and habanero peppers that is REALLYREALLY spicy but oh so delicious. The ceviche is so yummy with just the right amount of citrus flavor. I like eating it with the habanero hot sauce. The Guiso De Pollo is really tasty too. Kind of an expensive joint but VERY large portions. I love the service at La Casa del Mojito. The people who work here are so friendly and are more than willing to help you order if you're not used to Latin American food.
