Tucked in a residential neighborhood, this place is a delicious and lively hole in the wall. The staff is extremely friendly and our waiter was cracking jokes with us as soon as we walked in. Best dish was the Guiso de Pollo. Our waiter mentioned that the sauce is simmered for 8 hours and wow, a full workday of simmering does that sauce well. The flavors are rich and savory, and the chicken goes so well with a side of maduros. The empanadas were hot and crispy, a great lil appetizer. The ceviche was ok, as was the steak. I wish we could've tried the oxtail soup but that's only a Sunday special; might be worth coming back on a Sunday sometime to try it though. Super friendly service and amazing food. Anna was helpful and very kind to get us seated on the outdoor patio. I would highly recommend it to anyone who's in the mood for some Latin food. We tried cameron carmen miranda (shrimp in mango pineapple pepper sauce), parrila mojito (marinated beef), lechon asado (marinated pork), and the pescado en guiso (fillet fish in tomato sauce). I was on the hunt for some cuban food and due to this spots popularity, I gave it a try! Its a small little spot between two diagonal cross streets, so its a little smaller, but this did not affect the food 1 bit. I will advise that I came in the winter, and the insulation isnt exactly the best so bundle up a little more! The owner spoke to my table a bit, and also took a few pictures with other customers! Super friendly & welcoming guy, and it gave a nice ambiance to the place! The food was phenomenal. I tried the empanadas, Vaca Frita, and Bistec a Caballo. The Empanadas are definitely from made from frozen, but its served with a delicious lime heavy guac. The entrees on the other hand were deceivingly filling & packed with flavor. The meats were perfectly seasoned and cooked, while the rice & beans were a lot more flavor packed & savory than expected, I'm going to guess too much butter, lime, and cilantro was used, but too much in a good way! To top it off, the Maduros were cooked perfectly, caramelized plantains, with the edges starting to brown and crisp up without tasting burnt, topped with cojita cheese. Even though it is slightly pricier, and the portions dont look super huge, the meal was filling and satisfying. The food here is so Authentic. It felt like we were in their house eating dinner. We felt welcomed from start to finish. I got the ensilada mojito. (Steak salad) the meat was so tender with delicious flavors. The dressing was nothing I've ever had before. It was amazing! Wow, I can't wait to visit Seattle again to eat more at Mojito. Some of the best Cuban/Venezuelan food I've ever had. The cheese empanada was super Crispy and cheesy, delicious. The pescado en guiso was super complex in flavor and the fish was perfectly cooked. The pescado Mojito was fresh and vibrant and also perfectly cooked. My favorite was the pabellon which was bursting with flavor and a large portion too. Lechon was very juicy and tender and also excellent. We came here on a busy evening after already trying another restaurant that turned out to be too full, and were feeling frustrated and hungry until the wonderful staff at this place turned it all around. We seriously felt like family here, and every single person was nothing but kind and friendly. They were even sweet to our dog who was with us on the patio. In addition to the exceptional atmosphere and customer service, their mojitos are fabulous and the food was absolutely top notch. Everything was well cooked and well seasoned, served quickly and hot. They give generous pours. My Mojito was top notch, could've done with out the punch. Then came out Mojito's platter (fried yuca, Platanos Maduros, and tostones) and beef arepa. Both were delicious! Mojitos platter was tried and true on all three accounts. My husband is Puerto Rican so we have some what high standards. The beef in the arepa was just bursting with flavor and made me wish I had ordered the Pabellón. My husband ordered the Vaca Frita. Yummy!!! It was a uniquely delicious dish! The meat was tender with a bit of crisp and very flavorful. I will order this next time. I ordered the Lechón Asada and was disappointed. I love me some Cuban pork and this was just lacking. I met some friends here for lunch and found it to be an authentic no frills dining experience. My order of Empanadas (they make it Colombian style w crunchy cornmeal, my fave) and Lechon Asado lunch (subbed Maduros for the tostones that normally come with it) was satisfying. I was also scoping out yummy looking sandwiches served to another table during lunch. My friends however didn't seem to enjoy their dishes as much (they got the Milanese de Carne and Pollo, both of which looked dry and unappetizing). I think this is a solid spot for delivery or takeout when craving Cuban flavors, but not dying to go back for the dine in experience, as it did take forever to get the food and one of our appetizers was forgotten even after the long wait. read more

Love it! Since we're still in the stay-at-home Covid-19 crisis, we ordered over the phone and picked up our food, as first-time customers! For those of you who aren't aware, delivery services like UberEats or Postmates typically charge up to 30% of total order price from participating restaurants, which reduces profit for business owners. To ensure all earnings go directly to restaurant only, we decided to fully support these restaurants by calling them, placing an order and picking up our take-out. We ordered four empanadas, two beef and two chicken, which came with two small containers of guacamole. They were Colombian-style cornmeal empanadas, and absolutely delicious! I would recommend these as a great appetizer. I personally ordered the dinner entree version of Camarones Carmen Miranda (there's also smaller, appetizer version). I normally don't order shrimp dishes, but after reading the description, I had to go with my gut -- And, my gut feeling was right! It was an absolutely delicious dish, full of sweet, citrus flavors! Probably the best shrimp dish I've ever had. Scrumptious shrimp sautéed with grilled pineapple, mango, bell peppers, Cachaça. It's served with rice, tostones and their own Ensalada Mojito. Great portion size, and you won't go hungry. I highly, highly recommend! 2.5 stars. Sadly this place was one of those odd places that we felt were over hyped based on Yelp reviews. The restaurant is located up north of Seattle and east of Greenlake neighborhood. The place is actually quite small..with both indoor and outdoor seating areas...it's probably able to hold about 15 tables max. We arrived at Mojito and the waitress informed us that its probably be 20 minutes wait line. She didn't really take our names or anything down so the wait line was actually quite disorganized. Given a few entrances that this restaurant has, we wouldn't be surprised if someone who came later got a table before us...since the whole queue and wait line management was not there. The place seems to be popular with alcohol/cocktail drinks but we couldn't judge the restaurant on those as we don't drink. However, we were definitely let down by the quality and taste of the food there. We ordered Lechon Asado and Pabellon ($16 ea) and when the food came we knew right away that the food wasn't freshly cooked. First, the food was not hot..the meat, the sides that came with them were all at room temperature. This was also confirmed by the fact that as we were sitting out on the patio, we saw their kitchen staff carrying in frozen plantains and yucca fries. It seems like the place may cook the meat in mass order each day..along with reheating the sides to go with their dishes. Although the food tasted ok, given the prices (and the reviews we read), we were expecting better quality. Overall, it's a decent place. However, for a quality meal of the same price range, I think I can find something better elsewhere. read more
