Went there on Friday night to celebrate with my twin brother our birthday along with two sisters + my sister-in-law! I had no idea the treat we were in for! WOW WOW WOW!! The service by Victor was stellar. What a fun/delightful personality he has! All of the food was delicious - served piping hot and there was plenty of it. I was on the hunt for some cuban food and due to this spots popularity, I gave it a try! Its a small little spot between two diagonal cross streets, so its a little smaller, but this did not affect the food 1 bit. I will advise that I came in the winter, and the insulation isnt exactly the best so bundle up a little more! The owner spoke to my table a bit, and also took a few pictures with other customers! Super friendly & welcoming guy, and it gave a nice ambiance to the place! The food was phenomenal. I tried the empanadas, Vaca Frita, and Bistec a Caballo. The Empanadas are definitely from made from frozen, but its served with a delicious lime heavy guac. The entrees on the other hand were deceivingly filling & packed with flavor. The meats were perfectly seasoned and cooked, while the rice & beans were a lot more flavor packed & savory than expected, I'm going to guess too much butter, lime, and cilantro was used, but too much in a good way! To top it off, the Maduros were cooked perfectly, caramelized plantains, with the edges starting to brown and crisp up without tasting burnt, topped with cojita cheese. Even though it is slightly pricier, and the portions dont look super huge, the meal was filling and satisfying. We absolutely love Mojito! Their service is the only thing that surpasses their incredible food. We celebrated our anniversary there last night, and the staff went above and beyond to make our family dinner extra special. Our server, Anna, mentioned in conversation that one of her favorite ways to enjoy maduros is as a dessert with condensed milk drizzled on top. Even though it wasn't on the menu, the team went out of their way to get some condensed milk and prepared a plate for us to try (which has now become our favorite way to enjoy maduros too!). With the abysmal lack of Cuban options in Seattle, I was very excited to find a well rated Latin establishment. I met some friends here for lunch and found it to be an authentic no frills dining experience. My order of Empanadas (they make it Colombian style w crunchy cornmeal, my fave) and Lechon Asado lunch (subbed Maduros for the tostones that normally come with it) was satisfying. I was also scoping out yummy looking sandwiches served to another table during lunch. My friends however didn't seem to enjoy their dishes as much (they got the Milanese de Carne and Pollo, both of which looked dry and unappetizing). I think this is a solid spot for delivery or takeout when craving Cuban flavors, but not dying to go back for the dine in experience, as it did take forever to get the food and one of our appetizers was forgotten even after the long wait. read more

Mojitos platter was tried and true on all three accounts. My husband is Puerto Rican so we have some what high standards. The beef in the arepa was just bursting with flavor and made me wish I had ordered the Pabellón. My husband ordered the Vaca Frita. Yummy!!! It was a uniquely delicious dish! The meat was tender with a bit of crisp and very flavorful. I will order this next time. I ordered the Lechón Asada and was disappointed. I love me some Cuban pork and this was just lacking. 2.5 stars. Sadly this place was one of those odd places that we felt were over hyped based on Yelp reviews. The restaurant is located up north of Seattle and east of Greenlake neighborhood. The place is actually quite small..with both indoor and outdoor seating areas...it's probably able to hold about 15 tables max. We arrived at Mojito and the waitress informed us that its probably be 20 minutes wait line. She didn't really take our names or anything down so the wait line was actually quite disorganized. Given a few entrances that this restaurant has, we wouldn't be surprised if someone who came later got a table before us...since the whole queue and wait line management was not there. The place seems to be popular with alcohol/cocktail drinks but we couldn't judge the restaurant on those as we don't drink. However, we were definitely let down by the quality and taste of the food there. We ordered Lechon Asado and Pabellon ($16 ea) and when the food came we knew right away that the food wasn't freshly cooked. First, the food was not hot..the meat, the sides that came with them were all at room temperature. This was also confirmed by the fact that as we were sitting out on the patio, we saw their kitchen staff carrying in frozen plantains and yucca fries. It seems like the place may cook the meat in mass order each day..along with reheating the sides to go with their dishes. Although the food tasted ok, given the prices (and the reviews we read), we were expecting better quality. Overall, it's a decent place. However, for a quality meal of the same price range, I think I can find something better elsewhere. read more

Love it! Since we're still in the stay-at-home Covid-19 crisis, we ordered over the phone and picked up our food, as first-time customers! For those of you who aren't aware, delivery services like UberEats or Postmates typically charge up to 30% of total order price from participating restaurants, which reduces profit for business owners. To ensure all earnings go directly to restaurant only, we decided to fully support these restaurants by calling them, placing an order and picking up our take-out. We ordered four empanadas, two beef and two chicken, which came with two small containers of guacamole. They were Colombian-style cornmeal empanadas, and absolutely delicious! I would recommend these as a great appetizer. I personally ordered the dinner entree version of Camarones Carmen Miranda (there's also smaller, appetizer version). I normally don't order shrimp dishes, but after reading the description, I had to go with my gut -- And, my gut feeling was right! It was an absolutely delicious dish, full of sweet, citrus flavors! Probably the best shrimp dish I've ever had. Scrumptious shrimp sautéed with grilled pineapple, mango, bell peppers, Cachaça. It's served with rice, tostones and their own Ensalada Mojito. Great portion size, and you won't go hungry. I highly, highly recommend! Who eats dinner at 330pm? Anyways, came here to have dinner and you may pass it while driving by, it sits on a slightly odd corner off Lake City Way and the I-5 split off. No real parking lot so just park whereever you can find a spot. I asked if we could sit outside but they didnt have enough staff to service the outside area so we continued to wait for a table to open up. Unfortunately, nothing opened up, and we thought about getting our food to-go but the server gentleman said that he didnt want us to wait any longer and he will serve us on the patio/outside area and set up a table for us. That was very nice of him. We already looked over the menu while waiting so we decided to get the Pepito sandwich and the Lechon Asado. The Pepito was pretty good, nice amount of grilled steak on the sandwich, flavorful, plenty of garlic mojo flavor as well. Came with a few tostones as well. You have an option to add a fried egg on top but we forgot to mention that to the server. The Lechon Asado was pretty good as well, nothing blew me away but it wasnt bad. Flavorful marinated shredded pork with some pretty good congri, a couple of tostones and a few yuca fries. The herb garlic mojo sauce they put on it is pretty tasty, very garlic-y that will give you a hit of spice and enough to keep the vampires away. Food took a while to come out but the service was ok, I can tell they were short staffed, but they were working hard trying to keep up. After a friend sent me a link to Black-owned restaurants in Seattle, I wanted to try some new places. Yesterday I got dinner from Mojito and it could not have been a better, sweeter experience! I called them the day before to find out how much time they needed for orders and was told usually around 30 minutes. When I called yesterday to make the order there was no answer. I knew they were open and decided to pop over and do my order in person and wait. When I arrived, the very kind owner told me that they were not taking orders for an hour due to an order of 500 sandwiches they were making for the SPD. He told me that other restaurants would not do food for the police and they had just received the large order. He then asked me what I wanted, told me they could fit my order in and in 20 minutes I had a very special, wonderful dinner with empanadas, cinnamon fish and a mango/papaya/jicama salad. When I was handed the food I was told it was made with love. These people are wonderful making wonderful food! read more

It's tucked away so definitely follow the directions on the website. I ordered a mojito (duh) and the Vaca Grits for lunch. It was glorious. So yummy and just full of flavor. The sauces served with the dish gave every bite a punch. I also ordered a rum punch because I'm an alcoholic. And it was super yummy too. But the best part was the service.
