Cuban Sandwich: 5* Comes with two tostones, which are tasty to snack on by themselves, but also just go so well with the sandwich. Perfect pairing of ham, delicious pork, sharp Swiss, dash of mustard, and pickle on a chewy roll. Sounds simple, but so hard to recreate. This could be a habit! Lechon Asada: 4.5* Really delicious! Flavorful pork, flavorful rice and beans, crispy tostones and a yucca fry. I think we were missing the mojito sauce. Everything stood on it's own, but a bit of sauce would have just elevated this dish a little more. Nonetheless, would I get it again? You betcha! All in all, Mojito's is a gem. Craving Cuban? Maybe it's because we doordashed, but the quality was just terrible - burnt and inedible tostones and soggy steak with a rock hard yuca fry that cut my wife's lip. It's almost like they refried the sides from several days ago since I refuse to believe any of them were made fresh today. Super disappointed - maybe we just got unlucky, but I'm not sure I want to give it another chance. I just literally stopped by to have a dinner on my way to Safeway, but got really impressed by the parilla marinade flavor with a cooked to the medium rare beef and the hot sauce that had a nice kick and soury flavor. Victor was a great waiter on top of that helping to make an even better experience! A few things that, personally, would have improved the experience on my taste would be to have a better selection of beers. Today was my father's 74th birthday, and I decided to surprise him with delicious food from Mojito, this afternoon. It was a fairly large order since we have a lot of people in my family. The email said the order would be ready for pickup at 5:20pm so we made sure to be there just before that. When I arrived, I saw that there were a number of orders sitting in bags, waiting for pickup, and I thought for sure one was ours. None of them, were. Apparently, there was some sort of mix up, and the gentleman who was helping me was apologetic and let me know it would be about ten more minutes. He didn't have to, but offered up a grapefruit drink while I waited. Eventually, everything was packed up hot and ready to go. It took longer than we anticipated, and everyone was waiting for us to bring the food at my parents' house. When it was time to take the first bites of their meal, my folks were all just blown away over the wonderful flavors! Hot, fresh and delicious. We discovered that the gentleman had added some extra food and cake, and we were so appreciative! It made Dad's birthday even more special. While it is disappointing when an order is not ready when promised, it is so appreciated when a company knows how to make the situation better. It shows that they value my time and my patronage. For this and many other delicious reasons, we will happily continue to support this sweet little restaurant. Miami introduces us Cuban food. When we came back to Seattle and tried several Caribbean style restaurant. This turns out to be the best one in town. We came on a Wednesday morning, the Mojito was $5 off that day, which tastes amazing and matches the restaurant's name lol. We ordered a shredded beef entree and a grilled fish fillet entree, with Yucan fries. Everything tastes great. I have been craving these empanadas since had them for the first time a couple months ago. So today when I found myself nearby I could not resist! I got 3 but only one made it home, they are soooo good! The masa is perfect and the filling delicious. Even the cheese one which is a hard empanada to get right was amazing! My daughter chose this restaurant to celebrate her big 3-0 so we met there with the whole family. The staff was very nice and warm and the food was colorful and yummy. My husband and I are vegetarians and were happy that there were two veggie options. We each got one and shared. The yucca fries were AMAZING but we found the plantains flavorless and pasty. My husband & I had such a great lunch here the first time we discovered this place, we returned a 2nd time. We had Pescado en Guiso (fish simmered in tomato sauce) & it was so good! Luam, the owner is super friendly & accommodating. He adjusted a dish for my husband & substituted the meat for prawns. Wow I'm Brazilian and I was asking my husband what close to fried banana we could find so I've browser for cuban places because of "maduros" and then I've found this place. I got the beef milanesa, maduros, fried yucca, Spanish tortilla and quesillo. This is exactly like some of Brazilian food and I've never seen anyone serving beef milanesa here, it was so good! I come to mojito on lake city way about twice a week. I would probably come here 3-4 times a week if I lived nearby. I get the mojito sandwich. It's like a Cuban but better. The empanadas are also PHENOMENAL but I prefer the beef and chicken to the cheese. The meat is always fresh in the sandwich and perfectly cooked. The garlic cilantro sandwich spread is zesty and delicious and the Swiss cheese and Mayo brings the pork and the bread together incredibly. They use fresh French bread and it's just a great sandwich. You will see this sandwich on tv someday The empanadas are crispy corn empanadas and they are very unique from what I have tried and I really like them Chef Ana did an incredible job on Wednesday, January 20th. A large group of us dined here for our monthly dining event. Looking at the reviews I had high expectations coming in. The food was just okay overall. Some of the fried yucca that came out was too hard to even eat. A couple of people mentioned that their marinated steak was bland. Despite the food taking awhile to come out AND lack of flavor on several dishes, I'd still give this place 4 stars. Our waiter was the highlight of the evening. Came here as the hotel we were staying at recommended to try it. When we arrived we were seated quickly and received our menu and waters from the waitress Dawn. The menu choices looked amazing and we were impressed with the drink choices. We had made our decision on what to order, so waited for our server and waited and waited (looking at the dirty water glass my husband got). She took other tables orders (that were seated after us). It wasn't until my husband flagged down another waiter that we were able to place our order (maybe 20 minutes after we were seated) By that time we had changed our mind on what we were going to order as we were annoyed with the wait (I wanted to leave and go somewhere else, but I was too hungry to bother looking for another place). While we waited for our food she walked around and was super friendly with other guest (well not us or other non white guest). Maybes that's why she forgot us cause we aren't white . . . In the 40 minutes while we waited for our food to come the young Hispanic waiter checked on us a couple of times. We never got to taste the food as we left, I am sorry it does not take 40 minutes to bring out food. We wasted over an hour of our time at this place. We'd come back just to have dinner served by Victor. The food was also good. My citrus flavored steak (parrilla mojito) was delicious, the star of the plate. The accoutrements were tasty as well and will serve as an excellent leftover lunch tomorrow. My friend's fish (pescado mojito) was also delicious, though he decided he prefers fish that isn't citrus accented. I had the milanesa (breaded steak sandwich) and it wasn't anything special. The whole thing was dry and lacked flavor - I ended up not finishing my sandwich. Also "mixed greens" literally meant three pieces of fancy lettuce leaves. On top of this, I waited nearly an hour for my order with only two people in front of me. The atmosphere is warm and cozy and you feel like your family as the owner came around to the tables to see how everyone was doing. Tucked in a residential neighborhood, this place is a delicious and lively hole in the wall. The staff is extremely friendly and our waiter was cracking jokes with us as soon as we walked in. Best dish was the Guiso de Pollo. Our waiter mentioned that the sauce is simmered for 8 hours and wow, a full workday of simmering does that sauce well. The flavors are rich and savory, and the chicken goes so well with a side of maduros. The empanadas were hot and crispy, a great lil appetizer. The ceviche was ok, as was the steak. I wish we could've tried the oxtail soup but that's only a Sunday special; might be worth coming back on a Sunday sometime to try it though.
