Tonight's visit was my 3rd to this portion of the restaurant. I had my regular favorite for this location, amaretto sour, made traditionally with egg whites! Phenomenal. We ordered their spin on jalapeño poppers and fried zucchini and we were disappointed. The poppers were packed with flavor, 4 came on the plate topped high and on a bed of arugula. The zucchini was lightly breaded and perfectly crunchy, served with a signature red sausage that's well worth the try! Service is always friendly and personable, they're a hidden gem that id rather keep to myself but good enough to scream about from the roof tops! The bacon is mouthwatering irresistible.

Two story room with no soft surfaces makes for lots-o-noise even when a few people are in this place... Plus TV blaring.

When I visited they had an average of four stars. The moment I walked in, I was surprised that it wasn't three star or less. It's was just a normal neighborhood bar with bad acoustics. With less than a dozen people in the place, the bartender couldn't hear us. (Turning off the TV blaring could have helped). I asked bar tender if he has any IPAs and then he raddled off every beer they have. When my wife asked if they had a Cabernet, he first ignored the request (might have forgot after walking away) and then after asking again he lined up every wine they have (red and white). He just kept walking away after asking us a question without giving us a chance to answer. My wife (who is very easy going and rarely complains) changed her order to "ill just share his beer") after noticing how long it was going to take and just that the place was not desirable. There's not much of any atmosphere in this place. The only other place I've been to in Springfield is Planktown Brewery... They could use some noise deadening stuff on their ceiling, otherwise it's many times better than this place. We didn't even ask for the menu since it was obviously not our kind of place.

Beer clean glassware! Yes, that is my lead-in title because it's so crazy rare to get truly beer…read moreclean glassware that I talked about it to the couple beside me (Pete and Roxanne who I got to meet were awesome btw). It's less than 1% of the places I visit that are true beer clean glassware astute. There are many that do a good job, but when you see the lacing on glassware that I saw tonight, you know you're in rarified air. FOOD: ok I know most people don't need out over glassware the way I do so let's discuss the food - I went more unique with a lamb sausage and a boar sausage, plus my new friends next to me shared their fries. My opinion? Awesome. Well executed sausage, the fries were really good - crisp on the outside and still perfect potato texture inside while being hot with a fry sauce side that perfectly complemented Service was great, met regulars, had tasty food - but the whale in this adventure was the care for the glassware. This is special - the owner truly cares about your experience when they nail the small details a lot of folks miss. I didn't miss this detail because it's massive in the nuance on your beer but takes special care and pride to get right. Bangers takes pride in giving you a beer in a properly maintained glass, and that's uniquely special. Applause to Bangers for attention to detail!

Tried this spot recently and ordered the Seattle dog with fries while my husband got the brisket…read moresausage with mac and cheese. The food was good, but the pricing felt a bit steep. $17 dollars for a basic Seattle dog and fries feel a little high for counter service. That said, the overall vibe makes up for it. The space is open and inviting, with a great beer selection and a relaxed, dog-friendly atmosphere, which is a huge plus for us. Great place to grab a drink and hang out, just be prepared for slightly higher food prices.

It's been a while since I've dined at Rye. Had dinner there with four of my women friends. Between…read moreus all there were three rating the restaurant as a five and two rating it as a four. I had the Marry Me chicken meal, which had a delightful cream sauce with spinach, broccolini squash, and sun-dried tomatoes. The cream sauce was deliciously sweet and the chicken was as tender as I've had in almost forever. I also had a green salad with blue cheese dressing, which was very nice. A couple of my friends had cocktails and they thought they were very good. Other meals to my friends included the Poutine Fries; The breaded pork chop (schnitzel) and the shrimp pasta. One person had the hard cider and enjoyed that, and then of course, at the end of the meal, they have these delicious little chocolates two of us had them and one person had the chocolate pot re crème. All of us loved every bite. And they have done away with including the tip for the meal. Our server, Ross, managed five gabby women, each wanting a separate check, with aplomb, grace and kindness.

I've lived here for around 5 years, and another 15 years up in Salem and this little restaurant is a gem in every respect. I've been to Rye at least 4 times since moving here. I had heard about it from friends and so my partner and I first tried it out and were highly impressed with the food, the servce and the ambiance. The menu is just a bit limited but between the specials and the menu offerings, there was plenty to choose from. Above all, what they do, they do very well. I and my partner ate at Rye three nights ago and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience in every way. AMBIENCE... The dining room is terrific. Lots of dark wood. The lighting of the room is especially conducive to privacy but not isolation. Inasmuch as it was raining to beat the band when we arrived, entering felt like a welcoming respite. The patrons' chatter was subdued but clearly they were having a great time. FOOD... We ordered cocktails (I enjoyed a Cocchi Rye whiskey cocktail which was delicious. The French onion soup I ordered was also very tasty and loaded with mozzarella atop the cup. I then dived into a "special" plate of a Chinook salmon fillet, finished perfectly and sitting on a bed or pureed squash. Excellent, I thought. Afterwards, we shared some sort of fruity pastry, sharing with two forks. SERVICE... From where I sat I could watch the bar activity, even the service window into the kitchen allowed me to watch all the activity. Our server was very efficient and cheerful and engaging without being overbearing in any way. AFTERTHOUGHTS: I will be coming back, of course. Rye is where you want to go to have a very good time eating out. You're not going to spend an arm and a leg to eat there but Rye is definitely not Denny's. I think this was my fourth trip there and all four times I felt thoroughly satisfied in every way.

Rye - We've really been enjoying Rye Restaurant. We just had some truffle ice cream with strawberries, and it was sublime.
