After these ladies style your brains out, you probably won't be able to resist sporting your new coiffe at some hip local watering hole, like say the Longbranch Inn, which lucky for you sits catty corner from Modesty. Seriously folks, they know what they're doing here. Naomi was extremely patient as I shoved a bunch of pictures under her nose and tried to explain what it was I was after. She then whipped out her shears and proceeded to give me exactly what I was looking for, all the while stopping to ask questions and make adjustments. Sara O just moved over to this salon. I would gladly follow her anywhere, but Modesty is such a great shop so there is an added bonus. Sara does such a great job with my hair. I would never stray. I've been with her for two years and my hair has never looked better. Sara knows what she is doing and shares her knowledge with her clients. She is so personable and relatable that going in for an appointment is just like visiting a friend and you leave looking better than you did before. I love reading her blog which gives me great styling tips and product info. She also does a lot of work for photo shoots and fashion shows and I've seen some of her portfolio and it is so impressive. Amy Bonneau** She is just the best stylist I've ever had. I've been going to her for 8 years after trying out several other Austin salons. She's been with me through short and long hairstyles and is great at cutting both! Amy also does my color, and I always love the results. If I want natural, she does natural & if I want something more bold she really listens and delivers; Amy is always able to exceed my expectations. Amy is very experienced, a great communicator, knows cute/sexy/cool, and is just such a sweet person; I cannot recommend her more. Lindsay is AMAZING. I've followed her all over Austin and don't trust any one else with my crazy curly thick hair. She's done everything from trimming my long hair, to cutting off a foot of it, giving me a great pixie or bob, and now a really great color job. She always listens and has great judgement. I don't think I've ever left Lindsay's chair without her saying 'if you don't like it, call me." She's so great, I've never had to! I've been going to Lindsey G now for about 3 or 4 years, aka every time I'm in Austin. She's always been professional, fun, and, of course, always rocks my hair out like no other. She's kept up with my changing style from asymmetrical, multi-colored rocker hair to more conservative and simple styles. She's also always been willing to make time for me and is accommodating when I need a quick "in and out" appointment. And she's a sassafrass. The salon itself has a really cool interior, is centrally located, and has plenty of parking. All the rest of the staff is friendly, too. I wouldn't go anywhere else in the Austin Metro. read more

My haircuts are the one spa-type thing I do to spoil myself and my trips to see Naomi are always well-worth it. I became addicted when I got thoroughly sick of my boring long hair and told her I wanted her to tell me what would look great on me. I started going to Naomi for cut and color about 3 years ago when a friend(who always has the cutest hair!) recommended her. I have followed Naomi from her former location to her new studio. It is easy to get to and very conveniently located for anyone working in downtown Austin.
