They had a rebuilt transmission in the shop sitting around that worked for my vehicle and gave me a fair deal for it. The work was done in good time. Kevin was very accommodating with answering the phone after hours and even on Sunday. I was expecting to leave a message, but was surprised when he answered. That was great customer service. I didn't drive the truck except maybe 50 miles the next year. Just started it up and drove it around the block a few times. A year later the the tranny slipped a little and when I checked the dipstick it was not showing any fluid. I was worried, but I had it towed back to Modesto Tranny and they fixed it up under warranty. No questions asked, and they were very helpful. It was just a loose hose. I absolutely recommend them. I went in for a flush which unfortunately led to a whole repair, not what I wanted to hear BUT Kevin is the nicest and takes the time to explain and educate as to what is happening with your transmission. Went here back in November 2020. Was not impressed with the look of their store inside. Very messy and disorganized. They may do good work here but you don't feel comfortable when you see how their office looks. Got a quote for a Nissan Ultima 2011 transmission they told me around $5500.00 to replace. Took my car to the Nissan dealership on McHenry and they replaced it for $4100.00. Glad I went there instead to get a price quote. I understand this is an automotive repair store but keeping a clean store says a lot about the ownership of this business. This was my first impression. LOVE this place! I took my 2000 Dodge Durango 4x4 here 6 months ago to have the transmission looked at after some issues had started happening. They found the problem after a different shop told me my transmission was fine and just needed a leak fixed and they were super helpful when it came to my budget! Always kept up to date on the progress of my SUV. Now, this past week I was having some issues with my Durango again and was told maybe it was my transmission acting up so I took it back since it was still under warranty and I love the shop. Brought them my 98 Dodge Ram that I thought was having transmission issues. Felt like it was slipping gears and couldn't go any faster than 15 MPH. They have a 60$ charge for inspecting and finding the problems that they apply to the bill. They called me and told me my problem was not the transmission, that it was my catalytic converter. When I picked up my truck he refused to charge me the 60$. And had made a call to the smog shop next door and arranged for them to fix my truck if I wanted. I got a great deal and they had my truck ready later that evening. These guys could not have been any more honest or easy to deal with. They will for sure be getting my business again. read more

I was extremely impressed by the knowledge, and the attention to detail that this shop provided me with, and so I had to write a review. I spent 6 months looking for the right transmission shop to fix my 2004 GMC Yukon. Anyway Kevin at Modesto Transmissions took the time to explain what could be the issue with mine, and I decided to rebuild it. Since other places estimated repairs in the neighborhood of $800, and here, I was getting a new rebuilt for under 2K. They also replaced all of the "poorly designed" factory parts with upgrades, new servo's premium transmission oil. I can honestly say that my truck runs better than when it was brand new. It's been about 1 month, and still running beautifully!!! I live in San Jose, and had AAA tow my truck to Modesto to have it fixed, Kevin accepted the vehicle on a Saturday, and I didn't even have to show up until 4 days later when it was ready!
