I had three vehicles serviced there. The last was a chevy truck but it came back with a rough idle.Called and the guy says well we need to take a look at that.Hope the $ss clown that did the service didn't beat the hell out it in the "test drive".With only 40k miles on it can only think it was deliberate.Would never recommend this shop. read more

We were referred to this business by our auto mechanic in Turlock. Our daughter's Jeep sounded like it had a transmission issue. On arriving Gene hooked up a machine to the vehicle & we went for about a 15-20 minute drive in which he listened & reset the transmission to its original factory settings. No more clunking when changing gears. I highly recommend this company for their knowledge, workmanship & professionalism. Gene was amazing. 5 Star in every way read more

After doing a bunch of online research, A&G was one of the 3 shops I decided to contact to get a quote for a clutch job. They were the first shop I contacted, and honestly, after speaking with Vern on the phone, I decided to move forward with them without even contacting the other shops. Vern was great, he listened to my concerns, provided options, and made me feel like this was the right place to have this work done. The shop had about a 2 week backlog of work until I was able to get my car in, but you know how that goes; lke a good restaurant, good shops usually have a wait-list. Since the car was still operational, it was no issue. Once the job was complete and we went to pick the car up, there was an issue that caused some damage to one of my well-worn tires. I immediately returned to the shop and the owner, Gene, was amazing. He felt bad for the inconvenience and went WAY above and beyond to make it right. I told him it was fine if they wanted to replace the tire with a used tire but he wasn't having any of that. He not only replaced that tire with a new one, he replaced BOTH rear tires, without hesitation or issue. He didn't charge me a penny for this. I was truly impressed with the level of service and care they showed to me as a customer. If you or your family is looking for a trustworthy and reputable shop that will do what it takes to make it right with their customers, definitely visit A&G. read more

I highly recommend A&G Transmissions. Unfortunately my transmission went out which is something no one ever wants to hear!!! Yes it does cost a lot to get a new transmission but I was very happy with the outstanding customer service that I received from both Gene and Vern. I felt like they both truly cared and wanted to make sure that my Yukon was well taken care of. They also kept me updated on the status of my car. Thank you so much Gene and Vern! read more

Stopped here to get another quote after another place said I had transmission problems and wanted 3,700 to fix. They didn't change me to run a diagnostic which the other place did. And they told me I had miss fire problems which matched with what auto zone told me. The people here are intelligent, friendly and honest and you can't beat that. I wish I would've been able to give this place my business. 10/10 read more

Vern and company repaired the rear wheel bearing and located me a replacement rear axle that had been damaged by the original factory manufacturer's bearing when it failed and gouged a groove in the original axle. The inferior shop I took the vehicle to in riverbank prior to A&G in Modesto had only put a new bearing on the damaged axle. Vern and crew spotted the damaged axle the other shop overlooked immediately and alerted me an replacement axle was required to repair the bearing failure correctly. An observation the prior unmentioned inexperienced riverbank shop failed to notice. Vern tied up his shop with my disassembled car until the replacement axle was found and received to complete the bearing repair properly. A&G went above and beyond to take care me and my car correctly . A&G are an experienced five star repair shop because they earned those stars doing repairs right the first time! Dan read more

Brought my civic in because my clutch was shot. I called a transmission place in my town, but they said they dont work on anything smaller than a work truck. Thus they referred me too this awesome place. There was a little back up because of the times we are in, which is understandable.... but when they got ahold of my car it was done so fast I was shocked honestly. Now it shifts like a new car, I mean the clutch is so smooth its like stepping on a cloud. 1000% recommend this place. read more

Great service and price. Thank you for the quick turn on my Nissan clutch replacement

Amazing staff! Probably the most knowledgeable I've ever met when it comes to jeeps. And about as honest as they come!

I took my truck here off a recommendation of a friend and I would take it back in a heartbeat! My truck was only acting up sometimes, but they spent time to figure out the problem. They were able to diagnose the problem, they had great communication with me, fixed it and had it back to me in a very reasonable amount of time. They were more than honest because the first time I took it in, it came back with multiple codes that were very expensive to fix. They told me to just wait it out until the check engine light came on & stayed on & let me know to pay close attention to what it did when the light came on. I did what they said & it ended up being a much smaller problem than I had anticipated. But that's enough to tell me they are honest!!! My truck is fixed and running great! I would highly recommend this transmission shop to anyone looking for an honest shop with amazing customer service! Thanks A&G Transmission for going above & beyond our expectations! read more

Vern and crew were recommended to us for differential work. What a pleasant surprise! Vern was very quick to diagnose the problems and in two days our custom car was done and ready to go. This shop was reffered to me by my mechanic. When I went into A &G shop they spent all the time I needed to get questions answered. The cost was fair and they kept to the budget when I picked up my truck. I have had the truck home 4 days and it drives like new. I do not write many reviews, but I am impressed with the work and customer service that I felt it was the least I could do. I recommend you use them if you need transmission work. read more
