My daughter's 2010 VW beetle had an oil leak that was getting worse. Prior to taking it to the shop I had investigated oil leaks in VW Beatles on the Internet. When I called the shop said they didn't have time to repair it until the end of the week however I could bring it in and they would look at it and give me an estimate. Prior me taking the car in the owner told me over the phone that these leaks mainly come from the vacuum pump. This made me think "This guy knows what hes doing " as it is exactly what I saw on the Internet. After taking the car in they confirmed that the oil was leaking from the vacuum pump. For the amount of labor I thought the estimate was reasonable. After talking about it with my daughter we decided to fix it on our own. When I went to pick up the car they said no charge and even gave me some tips on how to repair the leak ourselves. These guys are great. My Mazda 6S, 2003 model car was making noise at the front suspension. I spoke with the owner, Rafael, and explained my concern. The car needed the wheel ball bearing replacement. They changed the front wheel hub assembly and also went beyond and changed motor oil, lube oil, and filters, and now my car runs extremely smooth. I had my cars oil change done here when I moved to Modesto this year since this is the place my wife was taking her vehicle. first time I stopped by, and the business was closed, they told me to go the next day because they were short staffed, I understood and went the next day, had my oil change done. Good experience. Time comes for service again and same thing I stop by during business hours and no one is there, I call and no answer, went home and called again, the owner picks up and tells me that they are busy delivering parts, but to go the next day in the morning, I trusted him since he is the owner. Show up the next morning having to take time off work to handle this and once again it is closed and no one picks up the phone this time when called. You don't play with people's time. read more

My car was there 2 days and NOTHING was done to it, and i was still asked to pay 60 dollars. Run by a father a few of his sons. I asked for a tune up and was quoted 325, but then there was an "issue" with the differentials. And my vehicle had been making a "weird noise." Was told that they had to take a closer look at it which meant my car not being returned to me the day I took it in. I ended up renting a car, since I have obligations and happen to have a life...the next day I go in to see what's up. By this time they had my car in their possession for a little over 24 hours. No tune up had been done, and I was given a BS story about a differentials something or other. It's a scam. This particular scan is very common for my vehicle...and I'm female so I'm pretty certain they were just trying to take advantage of me. I wanted my car right then and there. The front desk guy asked me to pay 60 bucks for "looking at the spark plugs" and I refused to pay. He seemed nice enough, almost like he felt bed and didn't blame me for refusing to pay the 60. Whatever. I finally got my tune up and paid 130 at a different shop. The differential, and everything else, was/is fine by the way. Shame on you scam artists. And I had gotten a rental for nothing! read more

These guys are amazing!! My gf and I were road tripping in our truck, coming back from Oregon, when we had a water pump fail. Of course being a Sunday every shop was closed but luckily we caught Rafael on the phone and he was super helpful from the get go. The tow company ended up dropping it off the next morning and they got it back up and running that same day and even double checked the rest of the motor after we told them we still had to drive it back to LA. Rafael and his sons were super friendly and really made us feel comfortable with everything, and the truck ran perfect the whole way home. I apologize for lagging on writing this review! But let's start with I HIGHLY recommend affordable automotive! 5 stars across the board! The Tuesday prior to thanksgiving myself & my family were making a 5 hour trip. When going through Ceres we stopped to pee and our car would not start back up to leave. We were 2.5 hours away from home & our destination. You can imagine the cost of a tow!! So I took the leap & found this GEM based off other Yelp reviews. It was 3pm and they closed @6 we still Had to get it towed over. Rafael (owner) right away said to bring it over. When we arrived we were greeted by his son who was very polite and welcoming. I assumed we would be stuck over night with no car. But they pulled a miracle for such a last minute thing. Got us New starter and back on the RD by 6pm! I had reached out to a handful of places & no one really gave me a quick enough response besides here. Asked to get lowering springs installed and if they had anything open from the next day and on & Rafael took on the task. Rafael & Jr. Both installed d2racing lowering springs on my 2019 Hyundai Sonata SEL. They were by far the cheapest in price, the fastest to give me an appointment & gave me a time and date in seconds. Looking over closely even the wheel lug nut perimeter are in tact. No scratches or scuffs as if the wheel had never been uninstalled to begin with. Amazing customer service, amazing results & an amazing turn around time. 5 out of 5 stars for me & will definitely be returning for more work to be done on my future vehicles! read more

My wheel was making a vibrating noise I had no clue what the problem was but I knew something was wrong. I took my car and to affordable automotive and within minutes he knew exactly what was wrong. I had a trip planned for the next day with my kids so he did the repairs the same day so we would be safe. After the repairs he shows me how worn down my brakes were and change those as well. His prices are very affordable but his professionalism, knowledge and customer service is priceless. I dropped off my car apr 30th about 8:40 I'm the morning to have my engine oil pan drain oil retreadded and I also had a radiator hoses that was leaking. I figu since this was such an easy repair I'd have my car fixed by the following Tuesday. It's may 9th and my car was never serviced?? Just moved to the area and was having truck issues. Hard to find a honest mechanic these days that won't rip you off. Called Rafael on the phone and he said to just drop it off any day and he'll replace the axle bearing same day! When I meet him, he was very open and even took the time to welcome me the the area. Where do I even begin? I found Rafael about 10 years ago around the time the shop opened up. From the very beginning he was honest, humble, and passionately eager to help. Whether I call or just show up unexpectedly, he and/or his son jump to help. There hasn't been a single time that I have walked in and felt like I was a burden or unwelcome. They are quick to prioritize you and genuinely happy to help. I can't recommend their shop enough. They always find the problem and fix it with urgency, and I have never had to go back because something else coincidentally acts up after. Rafael is the mechanic for you. They do nearly everything! I even took my equinox in because I self diagnosed my car bearing as defective, which was a very pricey fix, and he called me back to the shop while my car was raised to show me that he didn't believe it was the bearings and ran some tests on them with me to prove they were fine. If that isn't as honest as they come, I don't know what to tell you! (It was my brake indicator, which he took care of.) I don't typically post reviews, but when there is a family shop as honest and deserving as this one, people need to know about it. I took my Range Rover here recently to get a transfer case put in, so glad I chose this shop. I was recommended by a friend who said he's trustworthy and honest, she was right. Good hardworking mechanic who won't attack your hard earned money, and will still do a good honest job. With me being a female, most shops like to take advantage and insist you need other repairs.
