Good service. Keeps updates on vehicle. Great owner and mechanics. Cost in line with othermechanics nearby.

Affordable Automotive is amazing! I've been there twice and the latest visit was to replace a brake light bulb. They did it immediately and didn't even charge me! I will definitely be returning for future work on our cars. Thank you Affordable Automotive! read more

My daughter's 2010 VW beetle had an oil leak that was getting worse. Prior to taking it to the shop I had investigated oil leaks in VW Beatles on the Internet. When I called the shop said they didn't have time to repair it until the end of the week however I could bring it in and they would look at it and give me an estimate. Prior me taking the car in the owner told me over the phone that these leaks mainly come from the vacuum pump. This made me think "This guy knows what hes doing " as it is exactly what I saw on the Internet. After taking the car in they confirmed that the oil was leaking from the vacuum pump. For the amount of labor I thought the estimate was reasonable. After talking about it with my daughter we decided to fix it on our own. When I went to pick up the car they said no charge and even gave me some tips on how to repair the leak ourselves. These guys are great. I will definitely bring my other vehicles to this repair garage. read more

My Mazda 6S, 2003 model car was making noise at the front suspension. I spoke with the owner, Rafael, and explained my concern. The car needed the wheel ball bearing replacement. They changed the front wheel hub assembly and also went beyond and changed motor oil, lube oil, and filters, and now my car runs extremely smooth. I'm very happy with the service and can proudly say that I have found a local mechanic that I've been looking for in the central valley. Highly recommended, and extremely thankful to Rafael and his team. read more

I had my cars oil change done here when I moved to Modesto this year since this is the place my wife was taking her vehicle. first time I stopped by, and the business was closed, they told me to go the next day because they were short staffed, I understood and went the next day, had my oil change done. Good experience. Time comes for service again and same thing I stop by during business hours and no one is there, I call and no answer, went home and called again, the owner picks up and tells me that they are busy delivering parts, but to go the next day in the morning, I trusted him since he is the owner. Show up the next morning having to take time off work to handle this and once again it is closed and no one picks up the phone this time when called. You don't play with people's time. read more

I was really impressed by the professionalism and reliability of the staff here. You almost never find an auto shop with the customers needs actually being important. The turnaround time to have the work done on my vehicle was fast. If I need to have my vehicle serviced again, I would definitely return to this location. Thanks guys. read more

These guys are amazing!! My gf and I were road tripping in our truck, coming back from Oregon, when we had a water pump fail. Of course being a Sunday every shop was closed but luckily we caught Rafael on the phone and he was super helpful from the get go. The tow company ended up dropping it off the next morning and they got it back up and running that same day and even double checked the rest of the motor after we told them we still had to drive it back to LA. Rafael and his sons were super friendly and really made us feel comfortable with everything, and the truck ran perfect the whole way home. If I lived in the area I would bring every vehicle I own to this shop for work!! The shop was clean, the mechanics are professional and knowledgeable, and they charged a super fair price read more

I apologize for lagging on writing this review! But let's start with I HIGHLY recommend affordable automotive! 5 stars across the board! The Tuesday prior to thanksgiving myself & my family were making a 5 hour trip. When going through Ceres we stopped to pee and our car would not start back up to leave. We were 2.5 hours away from home & our destination. You can imagine the cost of a tow!! So I took the leap & found this GEM based off other Yelp reviews. It was 3pm and they closed @6 we still Had to get it towed over. Rafael (owner) right away said to bring it over. When we arrived we were greeted by his son who was very polite and welcoming. I assumed we would be stuck over night with no car. But they pulled a miracle for such a last minute thing. Got us New starter and back on the RD by 6pm! He saved us When he didn't have to.... little does he know what kind Of year it's been. I am grateful for king and generous people like this family owned business. Don't hesitate, you'll feel how genuine he is the moment you arrive! Thank you!!!!! X a million!!! read more

My car was there 2 days and NOTHING was done to it, and i was still asked to pay 60 dollars. Run by a father a few of his sons. I asked for a tune up and was quoted 325, but then there was an "issue" with the differentials. And my vehicle had been making a "weird noise." Was told that they had to take a closer look at it which meant my car not being returned to me the day I took it in. I ended up renting a car, since I have obligations and happen to have a life...the next day I go in to see what's up. By this time they had my car in their possession for a little over 24 hours. No tune up had been done, and I was given a BS story about a differentials something or other. It's a scam. This particular scan is very common for my vehicle...and I'm female so I'm pretty certain they were just trying to take advantage of me. I wanted my car right then and there. The front desk guy asked me to pay 60 bucks for "looking at the spark plugs" and I refused to pay. He seemed nice enough, almost like he felt bed and didn't blame me for refusing to pay the 60. Whatever. I finally got my tune up and paid 130 at a different shop. The differential, and everything else, was/is fine by the way. Shame on you scam artists. And I had gotten a rental for nothing! read more

The alternator went out on my truck while passing through town on a Saturday afternoon. Affordable Automotive diagnosed the problem, replace the alternator and had us back on the road in 90 mins. Charge was reasonable. Great car repair company! read more

First day of a two week road trip and our alternator goes out on a Saturday afternoon! These guys did the repairs quickly for a reasonable price, and were great to deal with. We were on our way in an hour! Highly recommend!!!! read more

I had reached out to a handful of places & no one really gave me a quick enough response besides here. Asked to get lowering springs installed and if they had anything open from the next day and on & Rafael took on the task. Rafael & Jr. Both installed d2racing lowering springs on my 2019 Hyundai Sonata SEL. They were by far the cheapest in price, the fastest to give me an appointment & gave me a time and date in seconds. Looking over closely even the wheel lug nut perimeter are in tact. No scratches or scuffs as if the wheel had never been uninstalled to begin with. Amazing customer service, amazing results & an amazing turn around time. 5 out of 5 stars for me & will definitely be returning for more work to be done on my future vehicles! read more

Great customer service! The turn around time was awesome for a complete brake job, not to mention we set the app up 2 days prior on Yelp. The response time was minimal. And now my car feels amazing driving down the road lol I will definitely be back for any work needed and recommend this place 100% to anyone who needs any type of work done! read more

My wheel was making a vibrating noise I had no clue what the problem was but I knew something was wrong. I took my car and to affordable automotive and within minutes he knew exactly what was wrong. I had a trip planned for the next day with my kids so he did the repairs the same day so we would be safe. After the repairs he shows me how worn down my brakes were and change those as well. His prices are very affordable but his professionalism, knowledge and customer service is priceless. I will continue to bring my cars to him because it's very hard to find a trustworthy mechanic like him. You will not be disappointed read more

Oil change, brakes, alignment, belt replacement all can be done here!! I have NO IDEA why my reviews keep disappearing from this site but I have been coming here for YEARS and have always been treated to the best service, upmost respect and best prices! Rafael is the most honest, hard working, humble person I have ever trusted or met to take care of my vehicles..yes plural truck and car. I highly recommend this shop. We found Affordable Automotive at the onset of Covid and will continue to refer family and friends their way, as well as use them ourselves for years to come no matter how big or small our service needs. Rafael has been wonderful and extremely helpful with also guiding us through a few self repairs. He recently researched parts/availability on a major repair at no cost and refused compensation for his time which speaks volumes about his character. So very glad we happened upon such a good local business. read more

This place is hidden yet they have so many clientel. I met the owner, Rafael. He was very polite and professional. I was getting an oil change while we where talking and before i knew it, they were done. I highly recommend this place if you want quality work done for a good price. I will be bringing my vehicles to this place from now on. This business is family owned and operated. I love to support our local businesses. read more

I dropped off my car apr 30th about 8:40 I'm the morning to have my engine oil pan drain oil retreadded and I also had a radiator hoses that was leaking. I figu since this was such an easy repair I'd have my car fixed by the following Tuesday. It's may 9th and my car was never serviced?? Rafael and his sons assured me it was being worked on but my car sat for over 10 days collecting dust. Do not do business with Affordable Automotive!! Apologies not needed, you lost more than 1 customer with me! read more

This place will definitely be my go to mechanic whenever I need service for my cars. After getting some quotes in other shops for an issue I had with my truck, I found affordable automotive. Just moved to the area and was having truck issues. Hard to find a honest mechanic these days that won't rip you off. Called Rafael on the phone and he said to just drop it off any day and he'll replace the axle bearing same day! When I meet him, he was very open and even took the time to welcome me the the area. Family business as all of his son's work there. Rafael offered a ride back home but I wanted to walk to check out the area. Truck was finished the same day and rides much nicer! I was going to trade it in on a newer truck but will just keep it and have Affordable Automotive do all the work when needed. Thanks again! read more

Excellent customer service!! I found this place on yelp & read orhers customer's experience & can honestly say I am soooooo glad I brought my car here. Had a fantastic first experience. Quick oil change, owner gave me the heads up my brakes need to be changed soon, and offered me a ride to and from work when I scheduled the appointment. Great service, great people, give them a shot! read more

Good people honest cheaper than a dealership! They know your name and don't try to jerk you around! Rafael is a good guy

Raphael is a one in a million business owner. I can not say enough about his work ethic and integrity. I have taken all of my vehicles to him, as I do not trust anyone else. He works hard to get to the real issues. Many mechanics will give half brained excuses because they don't want to deal with the problem. He has always gone the extra mile to take care of my families vehicles. He is incredible fair on price. If you are looking for an honest mechanic whose customers stand behind him 100%, Affordable Automotive is the right place for you. Don't waste your time and hard earned money anywhere else. read more

Where do I even begin? I found Rafael about 10 years ago around the time the shop opened up. From the very beginning he was honest, humble, and passionately eager to help. Whether I call or just show up unexpectedly, he and/or his son jump to help. There hasn't been a single time that I have walked in and felt like I was a burden or unwelcome. They are quick to prioritize you and genuinely happy to help. I can't recommend their shop enough. They always find the problem and fix it with urgency, and I have never had to go back because something else coincidentally acts up after. Rafael is the mechanic for you. They do nearly everything! I even took my equinox in because I self diagnosed my car bearing as defective, which was a very pricey fix, and he called me back to the shop while my car was raised to show me that he didn't believe it was the bearings and ran some tests on them with me to prove they were fine. If that isn't as honest as they come, I don't know what to tell you! (It was my brake indicator, which he took care of.) I don't typically post reviews, but when there is a family shop as honest and deserving as this one, people need to know about it. Do yourself a favor and visit Affordable Automotive when you need any car repair. You won't regret it! Thanks for being the best Rafael! read more

This is one of the most honest and trustworthy businesses I have been fortunate enough to find. I called them and told them that I wasn't able to start my car. They called the tow service for me, drove me home, and then picked me up when all the work was complete. I was given a quote before they started working on my car and when the bill was due I was happy to see that the invoice amount matched the quote. Great service! read more

Got quick quality service and at a fair price for resurfacing and new brakes all around. Would definitely recommend it

I took my Range Rover here recently to get a transfer case put in, so glad I chose this shop. I was recommended by a friend who said he's trustworthy and honest, she was right. Good hardworking mechanic who won't attack your hard earned money, and will still do a good honest job. With me being a female, most shops like to take advantage and insist you need other repairs. Rafael did no such thing! He even picked me up when my car was done, and was very polite. A+ read more
