Elias & Mario and their team did incredible work on our kitchen remodel, a small bathroom partial remodel, and replacing our main electrical panel, helping to sell our 1939 home. They also did some major and minor fixes for some issues that came up on our inspection report, and went above and beyond with many small details. We did a second but much smaller home update with Mario and his team. This time things did not go as smoothly as with our bathroom renovation. I think the biggest reason is that Mario was much busier this time around, and he tried to complete the project in a much shorter time frame than I requested. In addition, there was no project manager present, like his brother, during our bathroom renovation. There were mistakes definitely made this time, but Mario did try to make things better and fix the problems that my family and I identified. I think if you do a renovation with Modern Renovation, if either Hanna or Elias is the project manager on the job, you will likely be very happy with the results. However, if no one is managing the project you may have issues like our second renovation. For effort, I would give Mario a 5/5, but for attention to detail on this second project, I would say it was okay. I would rate them about a 4 star on this 2nd project. Update on Oct 4, 2025 from wife: The second renovation (kitchen remodeling) was below expectations. Even though a contract was signed, we received the wrong kitchen sink. We tried to work with Mario and did not ask for a re-work / replacement. Then, the person who came to finish the kitchen used the wrong material when he sealed the kitchen sink. Elias came to fix the problem, but it could not be completely resolved. Earlier today, I was cleaning the bathroom sink (part of the first renovation) and found a part of the sink was peeling. We contacted Mario to inform him of the issue, and his immediate response was that our family had done something to cause the peeling. We've only used the sink to wash hands and it was his contractors who had used the bathroom while working on the kitchen renovation. Our family could not have used anything corrosive to cause the peeling. We called Mario to let him know that we were questioning the quality of materials from the supplier, but we were accused of causing the problem (including the grandparents) without any further investigation or understanding the issue. He would not listen initially. read more
